not working

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to finally replace our RCA XL-100 TV from the '90s, so needless to say this is a massive improvement! However, I've used many other people's flat screen/HD TVs over the years, and I definitely feel that this holds up to the more expensive ones quite well. It was easy to take the TV out of the box and screw on the legs. I read some reviews that said the legs seemed flimsy and I considered buying a metal stand on Amazon, but I'm glad that I decided to wait and see the legs for myself. They seem sturdy to me and they screw on level so long as you hold the legs in place as you're screwing them on. The TV doesn't seem in danger of tipping over, though I did buy some steel cable anti-tip fasteners that will arrive soon just to be safe. The TV is placed in a low-traffic area and I have no kids or pets, so I'd understand others feeling like it's not secure enough, but it's just fine for me! Setup was easy as well - the instructions both on paper and on the TV itself were clear, and I also feel that the settings menu is easy to navigate. Something I didn't know when I bought this is that you can set up a "pause live TV" function that will record 90 minutes of TV once paused, which is very cool. All you need is a 16 GB USB thumb drive which will get reformatted to be used that way by the TV. The picture quality is awesome - I did play around with the settings to optimize it to my liking (play something that you can pause that won't dim like Netflix does, I used Hulu, and then pause on a clear frame of someone's face to easily track the adjustments and figure out the best setting). I have the TV in a room with huge undressed windows that face the setting sun, and while the glare is certainly noticable when the light coming through is at its worst, I'm very happy that I can still see what's happening on screen! Sound is also good; I'm deaf and wear a hearing aid on one ear and can't hear anything in the other, so I can't say that an audio buff would be in love with it because they can hear a depth that I cannot, but I can hear it just fine sitting about 10 feet from the TV with the volume at 35 (out of 100). I read some reviews saying they were unhappy with the volume so I was worried about this, but I'm honestly scared to turn the volume to 100 because it's already too loud for me at 50, and again this is coming from a deafie. The Roku aspect is awesome, and I appreciate that it's either the same price or more expensive to buy the non-smart version of this TV and an external Roku device. I will say that the Hulu app acts kinda funny sometimes, but then again Hulu on desktop messes up for me pretty regularly so I'm not willing to blame that on Roku. Overall having had this for over 24 hours so far, I'm very pleased with this TV, especially given the price! If over time a problem develops, I'll update this review. But for now, great job, Insignia!!

So so Roku

We have high speed DSL and on average it takes 10-15 min for a show to load. If it actually loads you are them subject to watch commercials and cannot bypass this option. Other shows require you input a code.... We've done that... Waited for it to load and usually will take us back to the homescreen. Good for our exercise room, but functionality could be greatly improved. I would not recommend this product.

Broken

Do Not Buy this TV I had more trouble from day one

I guess a sale is a sale. I cant get it to connect to my internet. I though it was my internet service but I took it to my son house and my mom house to connection at all. $181.00 gone down the drain. I next step is the trashcan and call it a lost.
