    Great tv... when it works.

I have had this television wall-mounted in my bedroom since July 2016. When this tv is working, I love it. Very nice picture, good sound... nothing really spectacular, but considering its price point, I'm thrilled. Unfortunately it's very unreliable - it will often crash and restart, especially with certain apps, and there is often a delayed response to the remote, even just for the volume. Other reviewers have mentioned the older software versions; this has definitely been an issue for me as well. Around December 2016, Amazon apparently updated their instant video app, and the tv could not handle it; it crashed constantly. Considering all the items in my Amazon library, this was a huge inconvenience to me. Recently the Amazon app seems to be working again. This complaint is probably an odd one. Sometimes I like to have my tv on during the night, and I turn down the screen brightness so it won't disturb me if I fall asleep with it on. With this tv, the screen brightness is controlled within a particular input and can only be adjusted while watching a show. In other words, I can't turn down the brightness on the main screen, so if I'm watching something in the dark and I go back to the main screen, it's blindingly bright and there's no way to turn it down. Overall I've been moderately happy with this tv, but if I had the choice, I would not purchase it again.

    Great TV for Secondary/Kids Room

ThE GOOD: First off, you simply can't beat the price for value. Though the build quality of my 47" LG SMART 1080p TV in the living room is far superior, for the price I paid for it I could have had 8 of this model. I have an overly tight budget but because of how inexpensive this was it is going in my kids room and its perfect. Roku account was simple to setup, app/channel selection far better than my 2011 SMART model. Wireless is built in and setup was literally clicking OK a few times and entering my network password... that impressed me (last TV I bought had a wireless USB device). I don't have a direct cable hookup accessible in its current location but because of its built in wireless capabilities and apps like Nick, PBS Kids, and Disney, it connects to our Google Fiber network and allows free streaming of many well known programs. You can also control it from any device that you can download the Roku app onto. THE BAD: The thing just feels cheap, very light unit, pic quality very good but compared to a 1080p there is a difference there... but who cares, I and other reviews are being picky, 1000 times better than TVs in our short past. THE UGLY: The most bothersome item... cheap, small remote. I would really want an upgrade if this were my main television in the house, all because of this junky, small remote. Hope this helps you! All in all I'm satisfied.

Garbage TV. Regularly just refuses to turn on.

One out of every 4-5 times I turn this TV on, it flashes the red light repeatedly, goes to a blue Insignia loading screen, and gets stuck in an infinite loop of turning off and back on. No buttons on the remote work, no HDMI inputs are detected or shown, and the only way to fix it is to unplug it and wait a few minutes. It is also very slow to turn on, often taking over a minute just to bring up a picture. When it works. HDMI CEC control works to turn the TV ON when I power on my Apple TV, but sleeping the Apple TV does NOT turn the TV off! And it has no auto shutoff feature, making this a useless bedroom TV. The picture looks decent, and it is light weight. The design is great. If it only worked reliably and had better functionality. I'd avoid it.

    Super Easy to Set Up

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I'm sorry that some reviewers had difficulty with the TV's set up, but my setting up experience couldn't have been easier. I already had a Roku account with which I am using Sling and Tablo (an OTA antenna DVR - which I also would highly recommend). The Sling and Tablo accounts were already set up on my other Roku's, so I simply attached the base pieces to the TV (only 4 screws), placed the TV on my shelf, plugged it in, connected to my network (on the first try), and viola! ... everything worked perfectly. I currently do not have any other devices attached to the TV, but I may or may not connect my DVD player and Wii at a later time (hardly ever use them anyway). I love the picture and audio on the TV, but I am not picky about those things, so others might have a different opinion. I am very happy with this TV so far, especially since the price is now $40 more than I paid for the TV yesterday!

I was able to snag this TV during Black Friday for $100 and it is worth it! I love my Roku and I love even more how everything is streamlined into one device. The TV is as easy to use as a standard TV and Roku device. I would highly recommend this product.

    Good Budget smart TV

I purchased this through an online daily deal so the price was right. If you're just looking for an inexpensive option for a bedroom tv this fits the bill nicely. I like the fact that roku is built in in case I ever want to eliminate the satellite box in the bedroom. It's a bit of a hassle to have to click through a screen on the menu in order to get to the hdmi port the satellite box is hooked into. It's not like a traditional tv in that sense--it automatically defaults to the roku platform. I think it turns on quickly enough, but a lot of people have had complaints about this. I've had good luck with Insignia in the past as I think they're great bang for the buck. Hope that continues with this set.

    Amazing Picture for 720p

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was able to get this while on sale for $129 (plus a $5 Best Buy reward), and I am incredibly impressed with the quality of the picture. As another poster mentioned, the 720p resolution seems to be just fine for the smaller screen size. I'm not sure that 1080p would look all that different on a 32-inch screen. The sound is also quite good, so I have no complaints whatsoever. If you are seeking a TV for a smaller bedroom this one should do just fine. A previous poster said the picture was awful, and while I had somewhat lower expectations for a 720p from Insignia, I was pleasantly surprised. I don't know if input source makes a difference, but we have SlingTV and I have viewed high-resolution videos on YouTube....and 720p on this TV looks pretty darn good to me :)

I wanted to treat myself to a new to TV by upgrading my old 2009 24" TV for my bedroom. I could not be any happier with this product. Setup was very quick right out of the box and I specifically chose this one due to it being a Smart TV, I was able to connect my Netflix and YouTube accounts right away. I also have two gaming consoles hooked up to it which is a plus because this TV comes with 3 HDMI ports. Picture quality is great, sound is not the best but its not a deal breaker. The only negative I have for this TV is the stand is to low to any piece of furniture not making it higher. This is fixable since I am buying a higher TV stand with a mount since I do not plan to hang this on the wall.
