Good idea but flawed implementation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a couple of Roku 3 boxes for streaming from HBO Go, Charter Spectrum, Plex and other providers. So when it came time to buy a TV for my office, I bought an Insignia with the Roku built in. The concept is great -- single remote with all the Roku channels in a familiar interface and support for other source devices like Apple TV, a Cable Box, Blu-Ray Player, etc. Unfortunately the implementation is flawed. The Roku TV is running an earlier version of the Roku OS than the Roku 3 is running (7.0.2 versus 7.2.0). I didn't realize it was a problem until Charter updated their Spectrum app which worked on Roku 3 but would no longer load on the Roku TV. When NBC released it's subscription sports app (NBC Sports Gold) at the end of June, it worked great on Roku 3, but doesn't load on the Roku TV. I contacted Roku, Insignia, Charter and NBC but nobody took ownership of the problem and so I'm left with a Roku TV that isn't compatible with 2 very important streaming apps. My only option at this point is to buy another Roku 3 box and connect it to the Roku TV. Sounds like a Monty Python skit. So I would highly recommend not buying a Roku TV from Isnigia, Sharp or any other vendor.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a TV for my bedroom. I bought a 24" at another store, but when I saw this one for the same price, and larger, I took the other one back. This TV has a great picture. I love that it's a smart TV and is easy to connect and use. I would definitely recommend this TV, especially for the price point!

Does not last
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV about a year and a half ago, recently I turned the TV on to find a horizontal line running across the screen where the screen no longer works. This TV is never moved or physically meddled with, and I'm the only one who uses it so there's no way someone accidentally damaged it. Additionally, it recently started randomly disconnecting from wi-fi, and the only way for it to connect again is to unplug to TV and plug it back in again. Not even 2 years, and the screen is already defective and it's having connectivity issues. The warranty it comes with only lasts a year, so at this point my only choice is to spend at least half the TV's worth trying to get technicians to fix it, or just buy a new TV. Don't waste your money on this product unless you get an extended warranty to go with it.

Best purchase yet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally bought this tv for my kids, wall mount and all, but found out that the Parental Controls does not work on the apps (like HULU and Netflix). Tried different things but will swap it for another tv from another room. Other than that it's a great device and works perfectly in the wall where there is no cable setup.

Frustrating to say the least
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received this tv today and am already having problems connecting it. In order to start watching tv it requires you to first update it, however it wouldn't update at all and I even tried it manually and that wouldn't work. the only help I got from Ruko was to wait and try again

Defective out of the box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv along with a wall mount for a bedroom but unfortunately the bracket mounts were not drilled out properly. Returned to the store and the floor display also had the defect. Ended up returning it and buying the sharp tv for a few dollars more.

Great for 4 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV on Aug 5 2016, on Dec 18 2016 the thing stopped receiving the Wi Fi signal. It still works on the antenna. The thing worked great until 12/18. Now its near useless to us. Unfortunately I cant find the receipt and Best Buy says they have no record of it, yes it shows up on my bank statement that I bought it from Best Buy Aug 5. With out the receipt I have no recourse but to purchase a new TV. It wont be an Insignia that's for sure nor will it be from Best Buy. All the online help forums are no help. The other devises in house still work fine on the Wi Fi, no passwords have been changed and the TV sits 2 feet from the router. Its the TV that stopped working after a little more than 4 months and that makes me angry!

Do Not Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this Roku smart TV a few months ago and watched Antena TV on it also. One day, the antenna TV stopped working, so I bought another, stronger aentenna. Still it would not work. I had geek squad come out 2 times. They replaced the mother board in the TV the second time, still the aentenna would not work, TV froze and I would have to turn TV off and back on. We had to take it back to best buy under the warranty and under "Best Buy Advice", we did NOT get another ROKU TV, we now have a Samsung smart tv. They say it happens often with the ROKU tv's. Be Warned.

Very poor performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So disappointed with the overall performance of the Insignia Roku smart TV. It gets very very slow and turns off by itself. I dont think I will buy this TV again.

Good TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent as a TV or with external inputs such as HDMI. Choppy image using integrated Roku (1.5 stars). My internet connection is great, so that is not the problem. I would recommend an Insignia TV without Roku to a friend.

Awesome Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product quality is something that has particularly impressed me. The screen quality is also perfect. This was exactly what I was expecting. Best Buy have me an awesome deal for the same.

I never experienced its greatness
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased this television to replace an older set and thought for the price, it was a steal! I have wanted to purchase a Roku television for a long time and so it was a no-brainer that I should pick up this one. We already own a much larger smart tv in our living room and the Roku TV has many more apps and was ideal for a room that didn't have access to a Chromecast or Xbox. Setting up our info took time using just the remote and a little longer than your average smart tv, considering that you set up a Roku account. Unfortunately, I cannot say if the quality of the picture was good or how well the Roku performed. I setup the wireless, picked a few apps to install, and at some point a window popped up that the television could not detect a wireless network. The television rebooted a few times and during each boot, I couldn't get more than two or three clicks through a menu before it reboots. I left it alone, wondering if it had to reboot to install apps and after half an hour I came back to the television still rebooting. After resetting the television, it could not detect wireless networks at all. Not mine nor the neighbors around me, which it had listed all of them during the previous installation. After three hours of trying to get the network back, I was unable to setup the television for wireless. I sat it next to my cable modem and still it could detect nothing, so I knew there was a hardware problem. The smart aspect of the television wasn't accessible. Unfortunately, the television is set up in a room where ethernet is inaccessible. I researched the television and it seems a common problem with Roku televisions, so it's not exclusive to Insignia. Perhaps you might have better luck with the television or another Roku tv, but I didn't want to take my chances and paid a little extra to exchange this for a Vizio. It's worth the money if it actually works.

Roku Features Are Outdated
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are buying this tv as a substitute for the standalone Roku Player do not do it. I purchased 5 of these tv and the software on the tv is outdated. If you subscribe to Comcast as your tv provider your login will not work or Comcast is not listed as a service provider all together. The standalone Roku has more apps than what the tv offers. It is a complete waste of money to advertise this tv as ROKU TV when it does not have all the features of ROKU. The software is outdated. Do not buy this tv. Get a standalone Roku and another TV. You will be happier.

Keeps Shutting Off Manufacture Best Buy Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Black Friday deal gone bad. Keeps shutting off for no reason. Called Insignia they told me to take back to Best Buy. When I got there they seemed to not care about issue. Plugged it in and said will see if does it. I said I WILL NOT wait around to see issue. I would come back in 2 days. They said you bought it back in November and I said yes and the manufacture said to bring it back. Best buy needs help with customer relations or they will be out of business. Its that simple. In the end they did give me credit for another TV after hour wasted time in there store.

TERRIBLE TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this TV for a year before it stopped working. For the year that I had it worked great. I switched WiFi providers and then it wouldn't work anymore. I tried multiple times to get it work. I reset it. I had the WiFi people come out and try to help me set it up. I called insignia help line. Nothing worked. I went to Geek squad and had them look at it and they told me that it was a hardware issue. So now I have a nice paperweight that I can't do anything with. I guess I now know why it was on sale.

Worst remote and sound!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The remote has no numbers on it. Sound is good at 70 on the tv. I suggest getting a Samsung Smart Tv. Love it and so much easier to use!

TV runs outdated software crashing roku apps
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the 2015 model of this TV about a year ago. I've been very happy with the unit, it's been a very good performing TV at a low price point. As a result I've been pretty loyal to Best Buy and bough a large 4K TV for my vacation home before the summer. Today I went back to buy the updated model (this TV) for the bedroom. To my surprise the TV is running roku software that is OLDER than my TV I purchased a year ago. As a result some apps do not work (e.g. CNN) and as these are the apps I care about I now basically have a brick. I've already returned/replaced the TV in the store to no avail. I've decided to buy a roku device and connect it instead. Unfortunately Best Buy has lost my confidence and I will not be seeking to purchase from them again. This is just not acceptable.

wifi stops connecting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Big disappointment. The "roku" part of the TV connects and streams for the first 3-6 months, then stops connecting to wifi. It's not the router or the connection strength. I looked at many troubleshooting forums and many owners have this issue. There is no solution to this problem. I had to hook up a roku streaming stick to my roku TV. If you buy this TV, make sure you get the warranty...then use it to buy another TV when yours stops working.

Do Not buy this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just over 2 months after purchase, the Wifi no longer connects. Yes, I did everything suggested to remedy the situation (changed router settings, reset wifi connection, factory reset, etc.). This is a KNOWN problem with this TV and other Insignia products. Best Buy won't exchange it for a new one or let you pay more money for a product that isn't flawed. Geek Squad sends it in for repair, and now it is m.i.a.
