The sound is ok for the setting, but I would recommend a sound bar for indoor use. The picture quality is as would be expected for a TV of this class. It's not mind blowing, but again is adequate for the size, price and resolution. It's overall a good TV, but if you're planning to use it for a primary TV in a family/theater room keep looking.

However, I would recommend paying the extra bit of money for something in 1080p. I didn't realize the difference in quality until I brought it home and started watching things that I'm used to viewing in a higher quality. If you've never watched anything on a screen since before the 2000s, then you'll be blown away. If that's not the case, then it will be nothing to write home about. That said, it's perfectly functional and does what it's supposed to at a fair price point.
