    I usually do not buy store warranties, but this time thought I should as our TV cost so much. not crazy about adding cost, but like life insurance, it is there, just hope I don't have to use it.

    i don't normally buy these coverages, but have teenagers who turn volumes up and leave electronics on, so wanted a little extra this time.

    trash service when i bought the screen they force me to buy the warranty telling me it covers anything then when it was time to claim it all suddently it dont cover crack screen

    I purchased this for my son before his freshman year in college. Within a couple of months, the computer was knocked off a nightstand and the screen broke and the hinges were displaced. They allowed him to keep it until the semester ended and fixed it over the summer. The hinges were separating when it was returned to him from Geek Squad but he had to go back to school. He told Geek Squad about it and they said not to worry that he could keep it until the break from class. He brought it in again and they again took it and returned it without fixing it correctly and he let them know again. He was told at that point that he could fix it up until the warranty expired. When he brought it back in yet again to be fixed correctly, they told him too much money had been spent on their part and his warranty no longer applied. They wouldn't fix it or replace it even though it was never correctly fixed in the first place. Eventually, the screen and hinges gave in and rendered it useless. I have bought a number computers for my four children going through college. I have always bought coverage. This is the last time I trust Geek Squad to keep their word.

    I could repair only two of My computers. The other ones ate too old to repair according to geek squad.

    Honestly, I never had to use this. So, I am not sure how well the Geek Squad services are and how well they are worth it.

    Due to lack of time, I had buy wife take in a monitor that the power cord had quit working on. The tech was unable to get a new power cord - so initially offered a gift card for less money than I originally paid. Luckily my wife didn't take that option. Since the model of the monitor we had was unavailable, they offered to order an 'upgraded' model. What a joke. The 'upgraded' model was not an upgrade at all. Instead of finding a monitor with similar specifications it looks like they just found the most convenient option for them. I would expect someone that is an expert to look at what they were exchanging and get comparable features, The new monitor didn't have speakers, it was a different display panel technology (which is important, because I bought that type for a reason), the quality of the frame is inferior, color is different..... I feel like I was punished for buying the original monitor on sale, which had a much higher 'regular' price. My wife was told the new monitor was on sale for a higher price, but it turns out it was just regular price. There are several comparable monitors available from Best Buy, some that are less expensive than the one I ended up with, but I would have been much happier with. I am disappointed in the lack of attention and the subsequent end result. I want my old monitor back. I would rather have that and buy a universal power cord than the one I ended up with.

      Having a functional monitor would be critical to work on your computer, so I can understand wanting to have it repaired, or replaced, with something equivalent. We always want our customers to be satisfied with their purchase. If the new monitor does not meet your needs, please return to your local store, where a Blue Shirt will be glad to assist. Although products that are surrendered during a return or exchange often leave the stores rather quickly, the associate will be able to determine if yours is still at that location as well.

    Had to use geek squad as Apple sent me to them to have my phone looked at. They said my phone needed replaced but they would have to send it off which had a 4 week turnaround. However, Athey were able to set me up for an appointment that day at the apple store 60 miles away (already had to drive 70 miles to go to Best Buy). Waited around for several hours just for the apple store to also say it needed replaced but they didn’t have one in stock. So I had to drive another 20 miles south to the other apple store to get my new phone. I can understand Best Buy not having the replacement there, and even an apple store not having it in stock. But why not call and verify the inventory before sending me there? Luckily the other store was only another 20 miles away and had one in stock or it would have been a completely wasted trip. 260 miles round trip, and loss of an entire day (left home at 10:15 for 11:40 geek squad appt; 4:45 apple appt; got to other apple store at 7:00; home at 10:45). Being a disabled veteran with chronic back problems and a neurostimulator in my spine, driving more than 30 minutes is awfully painful. Add to that I have a partially torn hamstring at the moment, it made for a pretty rough day for me. They may be great for other stuff and if I have to use them again, I will add a new review or at least add that experience to this one.

      Hi, Redleg27. Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your phone replacement turned out. I can understand not wanting to drive all over the place, having back and neck issues myself. That sounds like a very long day to me! As much as we would like to, we can't guarantee availability over the phone. Many other stores have the same policy, so that's likely the reason a call wasn't made. I do hope your next experience is as great as you've come to expect.     Protection Plan not what it is claimed to be

    Was sold the replacement protection plan and was told by the sales person that it covered accidental damage. They did not have a brochure with written terms and condition to review. Checked on-line later and found that plan did not cover accidental damage. On-line chat agent first said it was covered then later in chat said it was not. Be wary when purchasing a protection plan from BestBuy. Sales and chat agents do not know what they are selling you and will give you incorrect information.

    Bought this with an Acer monitor just in case it went out prematurely. I didnt want to have to buy another monitor immediately after the mfr warranty ran out in 2 years.

    My son has less than a year with his computer and had an accident with the monitor . We went to see if they can fix it or replace it with the extra money I paid for the 4-Year Geek Squad Product Replacement but they didn’t try to fix or replace it . They said doesn’t cover the damage and they couldn’t fix it to go to a 3rd party instead or buy a new one .Not nice
