Let me tell you a tale of Geek Squad extended warranties.... I had a Sony DLP 60" display years ago that developed a very green tinge. Come to find out it was a Sony defect in their product at the time. The first few repairs Sony covered the local repair shop and they came out and fixed the display. After that, we were on our own as the one year warranty had expired, but wait! We had purchased a Best Buy extended warranty at the time of purchase. The display broke two more times (same green hue issue and then the sound died), Best Buy covered both VERY expensive repairs no questions asked and the display then worked faithfully for the next 12 years till being retired a few years ago. I've been a fan of Best Buy extended warranties on select products every since.

I loved this monitor while it worked. At the time of purchase, I paid about $400 and it was worth every penny. It had great colors and viewing angles. The adaptive sync function worked pretty great with both Nvidia GPUs I used it with, although I did run into an issue of the screen turning black occasionally for reasons that I still haven’t been able to identify, but I have experienced other AMD Freesync monitors exhibiting this behavior with Nvidia G-Sync and this one in particular is certainly not certified as G-Sync compatible. I absolutely loved the size and the curve of the panel. This was my first ultra wide gaming monitor and I find it difficult to go back to flat panels. It really helps immerse you in the content on display. I also like the little included features like an on screen FPS counter and an aim point overlay. This biggest gripe I have and the reason for one star is that this monitor just stopped working one day in the middle of a gaming session. It still powered on. Audio still passed through to the built in headphone jack. Even the panel backlight was still running. The LCD panel just turned off and never recovered. Even the OSD menu wouldn’t appear. I tried several cables and two different computers before giving up. Apparently this particular family of monitors from AOC has a potential defect for this exact type of failure. In my case, it lasted a year and a half. Luckily I had a Best Buy protection plan and took it into the store. They handed me a store credit for what I paid for this monitor and I took the chance to upgrade. Even though AOC usually has a good track record with their monitors, I would recommend staying away from this specific model. If you do decide to pick it up, get a protection plan to go along with it because you are rolling the dice on a dud.

Honestly, it's pretty expensive and doesn’t cover accidental damage. I added it initially because the salesperson at Best Buy said it included accidental damage coverage, but later I found out it didn’t. I’m not sure if the salesperson was just trying to sell it or if they genuinely didn’t know. Either way, I returned it since it’s pointless when the monitor I bought already comes with a 3-year warranty.

I bought it so I could finance it with my new electric dryer.

Haven't had to use it yet but feel safer knowing it's here if need it

If it breaks they will replace it! Gives me peace of mind

One team member helped me for over a half hour this day, built a whole pc online, we had a lot of fun looking through different builds that worked for me.

It’s definitely worth placing this warranty of expensive tvs and curved monitors. Look at the details of the plan, nothing beats it.

Piece of mind for an expensive electronic device. If it fails, Best Buy will with fix or replace it for four years.

Necessary peace of mind with OLED. They’ll take care of you if you ever face burn-in problems down the road.

Alway great to have extra protection. Usually the products start to go bad after manufacturers warranty. This will keep you covered longer

I purchased this Geek Squad Service, but I have yet to need to use it. Hopefully I won't need it, but is good to have if I do.

Great deal. Bought a monitor a few years ago and it suddenly started losing picture randomly for a few seconds. Brought it into the store and they told me to go pick out a new monitor. Fast and easy.

Its always better to just make sure your purchase is protected. Gate having to buy the same item twice or 3 times.

Having the geek squad protection keeps me from worrying about what to do if it were to stop working.
