It definitely was painful watching some of the scenes, but gave what amounts to only a taste of the hatred Jackie came across. This is a must see for everyone, baseball fans or not. The portrayal of Jackie and his wife's strength is awesome!

My family loves to watch movies, especially when it is something we can watch together. I felt like this was a story that should be heard by many. It is hard to imagine what others go through sometimes, until we can see for ourselves. Great movie!

I can't believe I never saw this movie until this year. As most people my age, I knew at least a little of the story, but seeing it now brings it to life.

I LOVED this movie - it was a beautiful performance by both Boseman and the lady who played his wife. I felt that they were the real Robinson couple - BEAUTIFUL!!!

I bought this movie for my son because he loves baseball. This was great for teaching about this period in history as well as one of the great baseball players of that time. He even went to the internet and looked up more about Jackie Robinson!!

Harrison Ford gives a great performance in this film. He disappears into the character to the point that I almost didn't recognize him as Harrison Ford which is quite an accomplishment for an actor of his fame, exposure, and stature.

40 the Jackie Robinson story is a fantasic movie which gives you a unique perspective on racial inequality at the time he was playing basketball. The movie shows you all the struggles jackie Robinson went through to play professional baseball in the united states.the movie was well produced and filmed. I hope to see more movies made about this subject and filmed with the same good qualities

Jackie Robinson was a great athlete. He was his own success story in spite of absolute adversity. Mr. Robinson paved the way for today's baseball players. They should pay homage to him. #42 Brooklyn Dodgers.

This is a good history lesson about baseball and the ignorance of our American culture. He was a great baseball player who had to tear down too many walls just to be able to do it. He had enough pride in himself to do it. Great movie.

Easily in my opinion 42 is one of the best films so far of 2013. The acting is superb and it really gives you a chance to look into the life of this incredible sports figure/human being. The times back then were so different and it was Jackie Robinson who was intrigual to the way Black Americans were treated -/ powerful film! A must see! Also I feel it's some if the best acting by Harrison Ford yet!

I'm a huge baseball fan and history buff. I would have like to see a little more baseball action in the film, but it had enough to satisfy the sports fans. It's tough to hear some of the language, but accurate. I enjoyed this film.

This movie is a good example for children and young adults to realize how difficult the black community had it growing up It shows the worst and the best of the human spirit. We as Americans should never forget what slavery breeds and remember it in our every day lives and the way we veiw world problems. A good feeling movie that shows how we can overcome our adversity if we keep a cool head.

The teamowner played by Harrison Ford was forward thinking enough to look beyond skin color and at the business of baseball, resulting in the brave act of bringing in Jakci Robinson, an outstanding athlete and courageous personality.

Great that this story made it to film in a way that it can reach the masses. Younger generations have no connection or point of reference to the civil rights movement or how the country use to be. Great film and wonderful teaching tool.

I learned much about a great man and some about baseball history!!! I see why there is such a worthy "college scholarship" available to young people. They all should receive a copy of this movie as reminder of what they too can achieve!

I didn't get the pleasure of seeing this film in theaters when it was released but I didn't hesitate to jump at the offer of buying it as soon as it came out on blu-ray. This is a wonderful movie and the disc plays very well.

The trials and tribulations of the first African American to break the color barrier in baseball. Hats off to Chadwick Boseman. Great job ! Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey is pretty good too. Pass the Peanuts and Crackerjacks.
