I bought this for my boyfriend and he ended up returning this product due to the sound not being as good as we had hoped it sounded. We wanted to use this for sound quality when watching movies and it wasn’t as good as we hoped.

The surround sound is not worth the price of paying over $400 for it. It does not look up directly to the and using Netflix does not utilize the surround sound only putting in a DVD or Blu-ray gives the full experience.

Moved in a small apartment. My Denon 5.1 was way to much for this. So I purchased this product. I guess I was spoiled by what I had. It's extremely hard to move sound from back to front speakers. I guess you get what you pay for.

This system worked fine for about 2 years, now the blu-ray player keeps restarting and shutting off not allowing anything to function. Apparently this is a common bug. Avoid this!

Don't trust best buy open box items

Best buy rates open box items as excellent, good etc. I bought this item rated "excellent" condition, to me that means didn't require opening the box and inspect before leaving store - looks like thigns are different these days, quality of team doing return item checks and open item processing is going down. I recommend all open box items to be verified by customer before leaving store. This box contained a different series of blue ray player(with scratches and dent), got one part missing(wireless rear unit), center speaker was a different series too. I am returning this product immediately.

Completely unable to use with headphones!

Since the box for the product and the online description stated bluetooth was built-in, I assumed that meant I could my bluetooth headphones. Once installed, I could not get my headphones to work with the product. I called Samsung customer service and they told me that, notwithstanding what the box and the online product description stated, the product was not designed to work with bluetooth headphones. Here's the kicker, there is NO HEADPHONE JACK on the product, so I can't use a bluetooth dongle to make it work with my bluetooth headphones and I cannot even use my old fashioned corded headphones. RIDICULOUS!

What I don't like about this system is you can't watch your tv and have the sound come thru the surround sound system. You can stream music with Bluetooth and Youtube or watch a blue ray disc

Not sure why, but it's just boot looping. Won't play audio, won't stay on, just see the splash screen then home screen then nothing then repeat. Maybe a recent software update broke it. Just a short bit out of Geek Squad protection too. It should last more than 2-1/2 years.

Poor performance. Bought because rear speakers were wired to a wireless receiver and could be hidden behind a couch. This replaced another theatre in a box by Panasonic that worked well until it broke. This system did not perform. Rear speakers could only be heard if pressed to your ear despite being at maximum volume. Set up was by Geek Squad. Furthermore, it is supposed to have Bluetooth but it did not work. Bite the bullet and invest in a system that works. Wasted a lot of time.

Sub woofer lacks power and thump, I have much older surround sets with the same watts but sound better with more thump in the sub woofer. Overall sound quality is average

Samsung is the leader in TV and other electronics, but when it comes to Speakers/home theater, they should just stay off that. Just sounds very ordinary...!

Better than my previous Samsung Home Theater!

I had bought the Samsung HT F4500 a little over a year ago, and was pleased with it, but always yearned for a little more umph. When my center channel started going out, it gave me an excuse to look for a replacement system. Based on a majority of positive reviews, and of course the price, I bought the HT-J5500. Setup was a breeze. The rear speakers pair with the main unit automatically, so it really is plug and play. It fills my living room with more sound than my previous Samsung home theater did. I am also excited about the ability to stream music from my phone. The addition of Amazon Prime was also a plus for me. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is I know there are better systems out there, that push more sound, especially if you have one with a powered subwoofer. That being said, I think this home theater system is well worth the money. You will not regret it!

This system interferes with my wifi, dumping all of my devices off wifi when it is on. Netflix picture gets blurry off and on every 5 minutes. Freezes up when I try to do an update. I have spent over 4 hours trying to figure this out and still has all the same problems. Samsung service ticket process is ridiculous! Spent 40 minutes filling that out! And yes, I already worked with my iSP to make sure that is working properly, and it is.

My first system had problems from the start when the wifi rear speakers did not work. My second set began having problems a month out when something changed and my side speakers became the central speaker and all the others stopped working altogether. Save yourself some hassle and buy a different brand.

I love my Samsung TV ! However they have a long way to go with their audio. This unit sounded incredibly thin , sub sucks .. No Power! I returned it next day and bought the Samsung sound bar with wireless sub. A Little better but not much. I replaced a Sony sound bar with these and the Sony is now in my master bedroom and it still sounds better than these. I read reviews that stated " Thunderous Base " from this unit .I disagree .
