Less Apps. Lacks Memory for disc. HDMI issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially liked it once I bought. Setting up the system was a breeze. Issue 1: Most important issue. If you watch 30 minutes of a movie in your blu-ray/dvd, the next time you switch on, it starts again from 0 minutes. It should be from 31st minute. The system does not maintain memory. It is frustrating. Same holds good for movies played through external USB hard drives that you plug in. Issue 2: It does not use Samsung Smart TV apps but only Opera Store apps which may is outdated. You may not get future upgrades. System may fail soon. If you are fine with the above issues, then this system is good. It has quality sound for the price (Dont expect the sound to be anything near to a receiver and speaker setup). In addition to the above issues, HDMI was not syncing properly with my LG TV (Model 47LM600). So I had to return. I bought a basic Yamaha receiver+speaker+amazon fire tv. And the quality of the sound is mind blowing. The total price was approxmately 400 (just $50 more), but it was worth it.

Nice but have some questions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good system but I'm hearing the rear speakers are wireless. The system has a wireless module that allows for connecting to the rear speakers in a large room but you must connect the rear speakers to the module with wires. Correct? Also, one review stated the rear speakers ony work with DVDs but mine work just watching TV. Lastly, the sound from the rear/surround speakers are not as loud as the front speakers. Is this due to them being surround speakers? Any answers would be much appreciated.

Good, budget Home Theater system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a 6 year old Samsung HT E6730 go out on me. The Blu-Ray function stopped working. Rather than fork out a ton of money for a surround sound setup in the Kid’s Playroom I opted for something budget friendly. For $299 this is tough to complain about. Setup is easy, just be sure to have an optical cable handy to run from the receiver to your DirecTV box. This is because the receiver only has an HDMI out. Run this to your TV HDMI in. Take your HDMI from your DirecTV to your HDMI ARC on the TV. Then optical cable from receiver to DirecTV box (as mentioned previously) and you’re set. Be sure to spend some time dialing in the speakers with distances and levels. I put my C and sub +2 dB, rear surrround +4, and front speakers at 0. This is in a room where the speaker distances are 10 feet max. Everyone’s will be different but I wanted more sound out of my rear speakers and C on purpose. I also turned the equalizer off and set the DSP to Power Bass via the remote. Lastly, be sure to upgrade the firmware immediately out of the box.
