Bought 2 or 3 of these over a decade. Good sound. Only issue is around 3rd year, sound drops and you have to turn off then on to get sound back. Otherwise definitely worth the money.

Purchased this for my mom and stepdad. I installed it for them, so I can say from firsthand experience that it was very easy to install. Just follow the directions. Speakers and wires all color coded. Good quality product. Sound is great. Remote and navigation fairly straightforward. Streaming capabilities good, although app options somewhat limited. My Sony at home and our Roku have way more apps. They wanted Acorn, for example, and it wasn't available. All of the major ones are in there, though. This has the "wireless" rear speakers, which is great. The two rear speakers connect to a receiver that you can position in the back of the room. The remote rear receiver must be plugged in to AC power, and the two rear speakers must be plugged into the rear receiver. The wires for the rear speakers could be longer. May be fine, depending on how your room is configured. Had to buy longer wires separately for my parents.

The speaker lines for the back were pretty short for the convenience side of electricity for the receiver but all and all... great definition and crisp clean sound... louder than I expected too. Great product.

I bought this system and a Samsung 48" T.V. at the same time. I was told I did not need to buy a Smart T.V. as the home system was Smart. Once home and all hooked up, I kept getting an error window saying "Not Available" whenever I tried to adjust the volume or do almost any function. Even trying to enter in info like email and passwords for Amazon took forever because after each letter was entered, had to wait for the error message to go away. After 3 weeks or repeated phone calls to Samsung plus a tech coming out for Samsung, Best Buy stepped in and helped us out. I took the remote for the home theater into Best Buy and when I pointed it at a Smart T.V., no error message! Pointing it at a regular/dumb T.V. on the Best Buy wall, resulted in the error message! Once I returned the regular T.V. and got a Smart T.V., there was no longer the communication problem between the two units and all is well. Kudos to Best Buy, boos to Samsung customer service for insisting nothing was wrong and had no idea why we would be getting the error message.

I love this system. Great sound, I love that it has screen mirroring and bluetooth. It automatically recognizes and adjusts to whatever I am watching (TV, Bluray, Cable, or my Xbox)

This had everything I wanted! First of all, to address other people's concerns about HDMI ARC with Vizio, yes it DOES work. HDMI ARC allows both directional connection using one cable. No optical or low grade RCA cables need. You must go the TV settings and turn on CEC. This will allow the Vizio to discover connected devices via HDMI. It will allow you to use the Vizio to control the Samsung and vice versa. Other TV brands may be similar. Then you can get surround sound from over the air TV! If you experience any audio/video sync issues, Vizio and the Samsung allow you to adjust for this. Those who want a 2 channel music stream to play on rear speakers, your expectation is flawed. The rear speakers are only for the extra surround sound channels if such a source is used. FM radio, Bluetooth audio, music CDs are two channels. Not 6. Blu ray player and Amazon Prime Video and other streaming services work great. Yes Amazon has many titles in HD and 5.1 sound. Love streaming movies and TV shows in surround! FM radio and Bluetooth work great for music. Having no wires running across the living room is great. The wireless receiver is connected to the rear speakers by normal speaker wire. My only complaint is about the buttons on the front of the device. I wish they were backlit. It is very hard to see what you're doing in low light.

I bought this system believing it was a true 5.1 surround sound ,, but my son pointed out it was not ,,, ONLY in Blue ray mood ,, so the rear speakers are useless unless playing a blue ray cd ,,, HOWEVER the overall sound of the THREE speakers that do work is great. I was surprised because they were so small and light ,, 1000 watts ? I don't know ,, have not had the courage to crank it all the way up ,, the base speaker is great ,, it makes me want to watch action movies to get that big boom ,,, I PAID $255 for the system ,, not bad for that price. OH and finally the real speaker amp ,, has to be plugged in AND it has wires ,,, UNFORTUNEATELY ,, Samsung did not give me enough wire to put the amp box on one side of the room ,,, and run the wire under the carpet for the other speaker ,,, it was stupid to make the wires so short ,, now I have to buy more wire ,,

I bought the system and was unpacking it and it had no speaker wires in the box so I had to take it back and exchange for one that did because it has special plugs for the receiver. Great system, but cheap quality so definitely buy the service plan , as it will surely die within the 4-year period and without the plan, you will be dead in the water.

This system is very easy to set up an comes with great sound quality. Its very easily marked to know which connctions go to which speaker. The it also works with Samsung one remote so i can use my one remote for my tv with this system as well. Makes it very convenient to use.

Bought this for my parents and they loved it so much clean crisp sound.

This is my 2nd 1000w system,1st one was 1080i dvd fm, this one 1000w 1080p blu ray fm

I'm disappointed in Samsung with this version of the system. I purchased this one (model HT J5500) to replace the same system (model HT F5500) I had purchased two years ago. They have deleted so many sound options and apps and the web browser that makes this thing basically a blue ray player. You would think newer versions would offer more features not less.

The audio return connection,ARC, did not work with my roku TCL TV. It possibly could be the TV's fault and not the Samsung 's. Trying to get help from Best Buy's Geek Squad was a joke. Over the phone they told me I had to do this on line. With a live chat. The people on the live chat told me I had to do it over the phone. Both devices were bought at Best Buy and I would have thought I would have gotten more assistance. All they want to do was send a service person out. Make some more money I guess.

Replaced zapped Samsung surround with what appeared to be same just newer model. Not so. Back surround speakers only work with dvd. Not tv, music, or streaming. Page 44 under troubleshooting states so. Unacceptable. The last set did great. This one sux. Returning to store.

The middle speaker and two small back speakers are never used when i watch tv or listen to music but they do work when i do the sound check. The subwoofer is great and so is the sound quality. The bluetooth connection is always breaking up.

We hooked up our system only to find out the sound would not play through the right front and right rear speakers. When running the test, all the speakers pass but nothing is coming through the right ones while watching tv. I have tried contacting Samsung 5 different times with the last one promising a call back but I never received one. If someone doesn't give me an answer to correct this problem, I will be sending it back and if I get a different one it will most definitely not be a Samsung.

It was the good rating and claim of wireless speakers that made me purchase the opened box item. Once I got it home and opened, I found the back speakers WIRE intoa Bluetooth receiver. In my open floor plan, wired wireless speakers wouldn't work. It might be a good product otherwise, shrugs.

Ive had this sound system for about 5 years and it still sounds good. Im ver pleased with my purchase and what I paid. Good choice
