Great home theater system

The subwoofer although not powered, is very good. With this system you don't need a smart tv because it does it all.

Ok while it lasted

The system was a good solution for an in the box home theater system. Good accurate sound and medium amount of bass. The receiver is no longer playing through the center speaker and the subwoofer conveniently a week outside of the year warranty. I was expecting more longevity from Samsung.

Started moving thru items troubleshooting then found on Best Buys Web site a customer's answer to a question....wiggle the speaker cables and make sure the clamps are not down on the plastic sleep. Good grief, that was the problem. I pushed the cables too far in to the speakers. Been installing speakers for 30yrs, never had this problem. So, the reasom for 4 not 5 stars. Otherwise, deceit system.

After everything was installed and updated, playef a 4K movie and tried pausing the movie and then it happened. We had a problem with the Blu-ray player pausing the movie through this device. It would continue playing about 2 secs everytime even after hitting pause again. Updated to the latest update, which is 1008. Still the same issue. Other then this issue the device works as advertised.

Poor performance

The rear wireless speakers are almost worthless and when they did work on DVD's, the sound was very weak. The center speaker quit working after two months. The system should be a 5.1, actually, it is a 2 speaker system. I had a 6 yr. old Philips home theater and it was great until a power surge wiped it out. Now, I will be looking for a Philips sound system. I expected more from Samsung, this is my first and last Samsung product! Very disappointed!!!

Solid Substitute until Later

Second, can anybody confirm that all this can or can't work with a receiver? Haven't tried it yet.

Do not buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.While this item looks nice and has great sound & picture, it is awful. I purchased this item & straight out of the box I had problems. The DVD would freeze & the unit would become unresponsive. Without any actual buttons on the unit, the only way to get passed this was to unplug the unit, wait for it to reset & start over. Mid film. The DVD was brand new, so it wasn't a case of a scratched DVD. This happened repeatedly & sometimes needed to be unplugged & reset twice before it allowed me to eject the DVD or CD. I exchanged it for the same model, and still had the same issues. I instead went with a Yamaha A/V receiver paired with a Sony Blue Ray player & Yamaha surround speakers. Yes, I paid about $300 more (though Yamaha offers different price points for their receivers, depending on what features you are looking for), but the quality of the sound & picture is much better, as is the quality of the items themselves. Able to stream Spotify, Apple Airplay, Bluetooth with the Yamaha unit with much clearer sound & no distortion. An infinitely better product that's available at different price points. Do Not Buy This Samsung Home Theatre!!!!!

Extremely Disappointed

I was sold this product with the understanding that this would be a great upgrade from my current Samsung Home Theater that is several years old. I was sadly mistaken that this is a serious downgrade. My 5 yr old system has 2 HDMI inputs along with composite. This has NO digital input, 2 channel analog input and pretty much only good for a glorified disc player. Since Samsung SMART services are extremely slow, i stopped using the streaming services via the Samsung servers so even that is pointless on this product. Terrible step back Samsung!

Speakers Don't Work

Got it home set up took about an hour including going through the settings which was the timely part. Ran a check on all the speakers to find only the right rear, and sub woofer work, and nothing at all comes out of the rest. Yippee....spend $300 on something that you instantly have to troubleshoot. Changed all the sound levels on all speakers to high...nothing. Went around and unplugged then plugged everything back in....nothing. Call Samsung support....who ran the same test I did....nothing. Back in the box it goes, then back to the store I go. Needless to say I don't know which one to get now. Wish I could get back the time spent on all of this. What a waste.

Great sound for the money

Speaker started to cut in and out changed the wires fixed the problems. Now the DVD/blue ray player keeps jumping back and forth between the main menu and start up screen. I have tried everything to find the problem with results. I would definitely buy another home theater system over Samsung home theater system. An I'm a loyal Samsung buyer.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It works well enough. I was upgrading an existing HTIB that was left by previous home owners. This doesn't include any mounting hardware for the speakers, so I just left the old ones up. Also, the Netflix app doesn't do surround sound, which on a home theater system is absurd beyond belief. I don't know who that's on: Samsung or Netflix. I tried calling Samsung but the lady was no help whatsoever. Bluetooth is a nice feature, as you can not only stream from your phone, but it will also connect to our Amazon Echo Dot.

Worked Great For 9 Months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is an easy system to set up. The system sound at max is still low as compared to other systems. Worked for 9 months then started getting a loud buzzing sound from the receiver. Apparently some part inside went bad - it was not coming from the speakers. Sony would not warrant the work since this was a gift and all I had was the shipping packing list from UPS. I would not recommend any Sony Product based the fact they will not stand behind their product. I would recommend you purchase the Best Buy extended warranty if you want to take a chance with this system.

YouTube app stopped working

Every audio or video you play just hangs and say loading after few minutes of running no matter what WiFi speed you have at home.
