The Geek Squad folks are great at diagnosing the problem and walking you through fixing it either through online chat or by phone. If you have to take the item in for repair, they offer convenient appointments.

Worth it

Looks good, good features! very smart tv

Reflection blocking coating works well (i have a window w blinds adjacent to it). The special smart tv bluetooth remote is cool. When hooked up to wifi, get the samsung app on your phone. You can easily throw youtube stuff you find onto the screen or play movies and pix from your phone. netflix, amazon prime etc stream great. 3d looks good to me, though 3d on a 46 in screen isn't ideal, its still cool. Tv is nice and flat and mounted flat on my wall. USB is a simple way to have movies and pix right there internet runs smooth having this tv turn your cable box on and off w the infrared beamer is really cool. it can also change channels but is laggy vs the real controller. voice control is neat but doubt ill use it. Cons: having some of the connections stick straight you the back vs being sideways affects how close you can get it to the wall. not many options for old connections like vga or rgb without finding adaptors

After just under a year, the screen went completely grey. I had the Geek Squad come and check the tv out. First they changed the PC board but that did not help. Next I got to exchange it for a new 65" tv. The process was fairly easy. The person that I spoke with on the phone to help me with the exchange was so nice and very helpful. She let me know my choices of tv's and put through my order. The new tv arrived in just a few days. I purchased a new 5 year plan also.

They have always treated me well. Today 09/20/2021 I went in to get a TV repaired that was almost brand new and they made the transaction so easy and aloud me to exchange it for a brand new one. This is why I have never ever purchased somewhere else even if the product I want is cheaper. I have literally spent thousands of dollars over the years at Best Buy and I always walk away knowing if anything goes wrong they will fix it. Always purchase the extra Geek Squad warranty it is well worth it and you will have no problems if your item stops working.

Totally worth it for big ticket items!

It offers a full protection package and in my opinion it is better than the TotalTech. If you're buying a big ticket item like a TV or any appliance, ask the customer service to cancel your TotalTech from this item and add the geek squad warranty instead. Your TV installation will still be covered because of your active TotalTech. What I don't like about TotalTech is that you have to pay a deductible on certain things... this is like an insurance now...

Best Buy offered a 2-Year Standard Geek Squad Protection: for $89.99. This seems very reasonable if anything should go wrong with my television once the manufacturer’s warranty expires.

Wouldn't Go Without It

A Best Buy Geek Squad Agent recently determined my Sony XBR-70X-850B had a bad panel / display after two years. I was provided a phone number to call for a replacement. Although I wasn't given "full credit" or what I paid for the TV two years ago, it was close to what I paid two year ago. I asked about upgrading to the Sony XBR-75X940D, and to my surprise, I was able to apply the "credit" towards a brand / model that was a "step-up" from what I had. Within 10 days, I had my new TV (Sony XBR-75X940D) delivered by two Best Buy Geek Squad agents and set up in my home. I won't ever go without the 5-year Standard Geek Squad Protection plan.

Geek Squad has Always Had my Back.

When they came on the scene they had a fleet of black and white VW Bugs with their logo on the side . Everyone from the thugs on the street to the Excutives on the top Love these Nerds . Always polite and courteous and for the older crowd trying to learn very very patient . I will work with these people until the end of time.

worst service by Geek Squad on OPEN BOX OLED TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited for holiday deals and bought an open box-Excellent Oled tv from Bestbuy.com. also bought geek squad protection for five years. within the first month, I realized that the tv screen had some defects. so I scheduled a Geek squad appointment to get it fixed. customer care representative told me that this will be replaced by the company as it is still under manufacturer warranty. on the day of the appointment, instead of coming home to Diagnose the tv Geek squad technician, he called me and asked for the picture of the tv and mentioned it was gonna factory be replaced by Sony. He asked me to pilled the screen from the corner(he thought there was a screen protector screen on the Tv) even after denying him multiple times, he asked me to pilled the screen while I was on the phone. and that made the tv screen break from the corner. and as soon as this happened, they just switched their opinion and asked me to go to the store and get the store credit and return the tv. I spend enough time finding a deal. drove 1 hour to pick tv from the store, and just with this incident, they asked me to go store again and return the tv and get store credit. unfortunately, no one was able to solve this problem on the phone as this was an open box, and neither best buy or geek squad system allowed them to make any arrangements. I felt like I bought a worry under geek squad protection. All I wanted was to get my problem fixed. my tv got fixed or replaced. but not a single gesture of customer service was provided by anyone. Finally, after multiple visits to the store and hours and hours of calls, I returned TV. I would never buy any product from BestBuy after this horrible experience. Returning money is not always a solution Bestbuy. Bestbuy should consider the situation and the inconvenience caused by the wrong instruction of the geek squad technician.
