5 year Geek squad protection is essential in 2025. If the TV is going to give you problems it is most likely to occur in the last 2 years of your protection period unless you are the unfortunate one to have purchased a "lemon". Granted not all Geek Squad technicians are top notch but in general they provide responsible care when called and you may be lucky enough to get a technician that is beyond excellent. In any event a 5 year protection plan is essential when making such a substantial purchase.

Even though the Best Buy Total membership is very expensive, it is worth it. Because electronic mishaps are unpredictable, this membership makes it possible to resolve issues in a timely manner in-store and remotely.

The Geek Squad is the only way to go. So helpful you really need to purchase the protection. My last TV died at only one year old. I received full credit on my purchase price. Don't leave the store without it :)
