Recommend getting a protection plan for TV with todays disposable TVs. Twice I was in my warranty period and BB replaced my TV for free with a new TV.

I get this on everything I buy over $100 due to I've had plenty of things die on me prematurely, after the manufacturer warrantee.

I have not been able to try out the coverage for any of my bought items.

Very professional and listened to issue, Had timely feedback for next process.

I always take it an extended warranty because I have found out that it pays off in the end and besides, I want to make sure I'm protected. Best Buy's warranty is a very good warranty, that's why I have no problem in paying for it, even if I don't use it, I do have a piece of mind during those 5 years since the manufacturer warranties are usually only 1 year. Just being able to take it to Best Buy, rather then sending it off, makes it even better.

Best Buy warranty used to be better but with what they still offer can’t go wrong with a warranty.

Geek Squad protection is FOUL...!!!! I was told that the protection plan would start after the manufacturers warranty ended. Samsung gives a Minimum of 1 year manufacturer warranty. So I purchase the 2 year Geek Squad protection for approximately $250.00. in July 31, 2020. Samsungs warranty ended July 31, 2021....therefor, by what I was told by the Best Buy sale person, my Geek Squad protection should start July 31, 2021 and end July 31, 2023. When I called best buy to claim my protection...because the TV has a defect with pixels going dead....lots of pixels, so the best buy rep told me the plan expired ...GET THIS....BECAUSE THE GEEK SQUAD PROTECTION STARTED THE SAME TIME SAMSUNGS WARRANTY STARTS. WHAT SINCE DOES THAT MAKE TO HAVE A PLAN GOING WHILE IT'S STILL UNDER WARRANTY. AS I WAS TOLD WHEN PURCHASING THE TV THAT IT WOULD START AFTER THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY ENDS. BEST BUY THAT'S NOT RIGHT..... AND THEY KNOW IT'S NOT RIGHT...and gave me the option to PAY $130 more dollars to have a diagnostic test of the TV.

I've used Geek Squad twice. The first time they repaired my television on site (my home), the technicians both times brought their own folding tables and cloths to my residence, the second time the parts were no longer available so the technician had Best Buy credit me for a replacement Television. I highly recommend this service. I just bought a 50" bedroom TV (Dec 12, 2023), and guess what I added on as a Just In Case...Geek Squad coverage! My thanks and respect to all of the unsung technicians that Best Buy utilizes to make their warranty incredible.

Used their tv repair at home service before. They replaced a defective panel on my tv that would have cost me $500 for free. Don't buy warranty from others and hear "do you have the box your tv came in, you have to send it off yourself to repair center, there's nothing we can do, do you have your receipt from a year ago, I don't really know anything I have to get a manager or any other of the poopie you'll probably hear elsewhere.

Excellent service helped with my pc troubles and was able to get my device functional again.

It was the best purchase I’ve ever had on a product. I had some problems with the television and they had a tech out right away to take a look at it.

What amazes me is the engineered life span of a new TV that makes getting this coverage virtually mandatory. My 42" Insignia died almost 5 years to the month of when I got it. I was then told my new 49" Sony would have about the same lifespan - if I'm lucky! If it dies within 5 years and they cannot fix it, I get a new one "free" if you don't count the cost of the Geek Squad protection. Go figure. When you add things like this to the fact you pay $200+/month for Comcast TV & Internet, the cost of entertainment has become an absurdity. It's enough sometimes for me to think about buying a TV at a thrift store and using "rabbit ears" antennas for actual free TV and save myself a lot of money to the tune of $3,000+ per year when you amortize it out to the TV's life span. Did you know that with FHA you can put a down payment TO BUY A HOUSE with what you spend on TV in 2-3 years??? Just the same, even if I just had TV "rabbit ears," the Internet has become a necessity the way a telephone is, it's a form of velvet-gloved robbery. So, hat's off to the Geek Squad for being there, to save us from our big, expensive TV's that have an engineered life span not unlike the cast from Blade Runner. I recommend it because it's now mandatory and no longer an option unless you're into gambling odds, with your TV lasting more than 5 years, not much different than the state lottery. Haven't needed Geek Squad to set up my TV, however given my past experience with them, with my computer, I expect no less than 5 stars.

I was once a firm believer that the protection plans were a real rip off. I purchased once from a Best Buy competitor and out of caution I purchased the plan. Good thing I did. What a nightmare. NOW - I only purchase from Best Buy and I always purchase the protection plans. It seems a good policy for me.

So glad I paid for this. Our TV stopped turning on after about a year and half of use. Since I got this service they are coming to make sure that it can’t be fixed and if it can’t it’s getting replaced for free! Can’t beat that!
