I bought this for use in my heated garage. Worked great until about two weeks ago. Now the power turns off on its own after ten minutes and it will not connect to bluetooth. If it does connect to Bluetooth, the system still shuts down after about ten minutes. I've always been happy with Insignia until this purchase.

With the volume turned all the way up, this stereo was not as loud as small boombox. Not what I expected.

We've owned the Insignia NS-SH513 compact shelf system for about six months and have been very pleased with the product and especially pleased with the value of the product's features and functionality for the $70 price we paid. Initially our objective was to find a product that was easy to pair with our Apple iPhones using Bluetooth. Our in-store testing showed that the NS-SH513 paired quickly and easily with our Apple devices even with the noisy Bluetooth environment of the store and was superior to other products on the shelf with Bluetooth pairing. Our perception is that the sound quality of the system is very good and certainly good enough for our casual listening and surprisingly better than other bookshelf sized systems we've had that were much more expensive. This little system is ideal for a bedroom, home office, or small living room area. We have used the system on the patio during the summer simply because it is small enough to move easily, and it is functional for an outdoor sitting or dining area, but lacks the power to fill a larger outdoor space with quality sound. The remote is simple and easy to use. A final note of endorsement that we will be buying another one of these for a hobby room in the basement.

Heard great things about this stereo so I decided to go ahead and give it a try for $100 I don't think you can find a better bluetooth stereo hooked it up very easy I decided to use better quality speaker wire it definitely helps with sound quality overall a great little stereo that is better sounding than my sister's Bose wave radio and she paid triple for hers!!! We got it for the bedroom because of it's size and sound quality get one if you're lookingfor a great little bluetooth stereo also plays cd's and music from memory sticks through the usb port! This is the one!

Just bought this system after doing a lot of research and reading of reviews. Have been listening to it for last several hours and are quite impressed. Sound is excellent! Highs/lows, bass etc. speakers are smallish (plus), receiver is small (plus). Easy to set up and get going. FM stations easy to program (once I realized that to set 102.7 I had to type, 1-2-7 since it automatically enters a 1 as a 10. Bluetooth real easy to set up as well. Haven't tried cd yet and will hook up to our tv tmrw. But based on initial performance, we are quite pleased. We were looking at some other $199.99 stereos--got this one for $80.99. The only two things it doesn't have is am stations or a clock. But for $119 difference, who cares? Would highly recommend this little guy!
