First off, this thing sounds awesome. I was inspired enough by this alone to write my first review for BB.Com. The bluetooth connectivity...awesome. Speaker sound and construction...awesome. The aesthetics...awesome. Honestly the only thing lacking, and this is super picky, is that the display could be a little nicer. However, this matters not to me as we have the main portion in a kitchen cupboard, so it's never seen anyway. Seriously, buy one. For a hundred bucks, I'm thinking about buying another one!

This is the best stereo system I have ever heard. I'm 75 years old. You feel me? Buy it. Just buy it. Go to Best Buy, and buy it. Rarely have I bought anything, I don't care what it is, that delivers this much quality for so little money. I bought mine for 70 bucks. It usually sells for $120.00. This week, $85. Buy it. Goes on and off sale all the time. Buy it. I use my Echo Dot with the Amazon Unlimited Music Plan. While you'er at it buy that too. Blue tooth pairing is a breeze. I do not work for Best Buy and never have. I have been known to hate Best Buy at times. But credit where credit is due. Just buy it.

This item is great, except that there was a quiet ticking sound every half second or so when I was playing CDs. Other than that, sound was good, bluetooth was easy to use, programming radio presets wasn't too complicated, external antenna provided good reception. I exchanged the item and an hoping for no ticking sound with the new (identical) system.

Excellent product at a very reasonable price. Bought it for my teenager daughter and she loved it. Easy to use and very good quality of sound.

Good build quality. Lots of connection options for a compact system including bluetooth. It powers the speakers in my whole house now. I have wired speakers on all the rooms of the house including 2 outdoor speakers. For a small stereo system it has ample power to pump out loud music during parties. The included speakers has a good tonal range with good bass but not great highs. Got it hooked up to an Apple Express product too for the convenient Apple Airplay control of music using my phone. No more need for the usual big and bulky audio receiver which sure does consume lots of electricity for continued music playing everyday. For the pricepoint and included features, this product is a winner.

This is a nice little sound system for a smaller room. We have it in our dining room and it sounds great. We love the Bluetooth capability! The sound is good as long as you don't crank the volume up too high and it looks better than the pictures. We are very happy with this purchase.

I purchased this stereo system in Oct. 2014 on sale for $87 (including tax). I did not use it very often, but when I did, it worked fine and the speakers sounded great. In May 2016, one year and seven months after I purchased it, the CD player would not eject a CD. I looked at my receipt and saw that the one-year warranty had expired seven months previously. So I took about a dozen screws out and took off the cover. The inside is intimidatingly full of fragile electronic gadgetry. There's no easy way to get a CD to release if it is stuck in the player, so there was nothing I could do. I went to the local BestBuy store. They said there's nothing they can do about it, either. They looked up the purchase on my membership and did not find it. Their records only go back so far, and 19 months is apparently a long time in the world of consumer electronics. At home, I typed in the "customer service pin" number from my receipt on the BestBuy website. The website told me I purchased the stereo before I became a BestBuy member. In other words, this stereo system worked fine for 19 months. Then it suddently STOPPED WORKING. This is evidently a throw-away model. I am a dissatisfied customer. When I spend my money on something, I would like it to last. This model did not.

How am i always late to find products like this and now they don’t sell it anymore????????

Got this to use on my porch/pool area. Great little system. Nice sound and the Bluetooth is awesome, really good range.

I was surprised how well the blue tooth works so well. We use this at our restaurant and play music from an iPad.

Powers up but all funtionality stopped at exactly 365 days after purchase. Precise work Insignia! Unit had good sound, and responsive bluetoothery. Will not be replaced with another Insignia.

Great little stereo with a decent sound to fill up a small room. No complaints.

I was mostly satisfied with this unit but started hearing static from one speaker within a couple weeks. Then it started in the other . . . checked all connections and player sources. Static would clear under low volume but reappears with moderate volume. Will exchange for the Sony. . . was offered an exchange for the same unit but the brand name is as generic at 'Brand X' . . trust sony more

The system is compact and the Bluetooth works well. While fairly heavy, the speakers only sound decent with the volume set below 25. If you turn it up, the sound gets hollow and cheesy. As with most audio systems the remote is confusing and counterintuitive. For some reason the designers thought it was a good idea that the FM should always default to preset 1 on power up instead of the last channel you were listening to. The "antenna" is just a cheap single wire and isn't very useful outside of a metropolitan area. It was also surprising how light the main unit is and that means that the power amplifier isn't very robust which adds to the poor sound quality at higher volume levels. While I won't provide a general recommendation to buy this unit, It would fit the bill only if you only listen at lower volume levels. I plan to try using the speakers from my old Panasonic Home Theater since they have a very nice sound and include side facing center channel speakers. If they don't work out, I will probably return it..

The Insignia 50W Bluetooth CD Compact Shelf System isn't a terrible piece of equipment. It's pumps out decent sound. And the price is right. But, the CD tray is very flimsy. The buttons are placed too close to the tray, making it hard to hit "play" after loading a disc (unless you're using the remote, of course). And -- most problematically -- there's an annoying, audible, repetitive "click" heard whenever a CD is playing. Not for the discerning...
