Very professional
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Guys came in with booties so they would not bring dirt in and did an amazing job to make sure it was level and in a perfect spot. They talked me out of mounting it as high as I wanted and I'm glad they did. It's perfect height and spot. Especially when you pay $3300 for a TV its a must. Their work is guaranteed if something happens with mount or TV while mounting.

Geek Squad TV Unpacking, Setup and Connection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Geek Squad's Matt and Dan did a great job setting up and connecting our new TV. While I am sure we could have done the connection ourselves; their experience made the process fast and painless. They also took the time to show us new options and some features we were not aware of. They were on time and cleaned up and took the TV packing material with them. Also, they left a card and sent a detailed report in case we had any questions. Great job, Geek Squad.

Installation and removal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was told by salesman that with delivery and setup of new system they would move existing TV to another area of the house or haul away. The technician refused to move the existing TV to another area of the house.

Don't trust the "consultants"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased what I thought would be a trustworthy solution to my home theater. What I found out is that the Geek Squad sold me more than they could deliver and more than I needed. If you're looking into a projection system, they have the projectors and screens that will meet your needs. However, when it comes to the accessories, WATCH OUT! I already had the Logitech Harmony One remote. The Geek Squad told me it would not work with my new projector because it was not in line-of-sight. So, I took the bait. One $299.00 Universal remote, one $249.00 MRF-350 IR blaster, and finding out that the "ONLY" people on earth trusted to understand how to program remotes, work as technicians, later (by the way... you have to pay them to reprogram the remote each time anything changes in your system). So, I started playing with my old Logitech Harmony One and discover that with their IR blaster, my Harmony One not only works great with all components... It also runs the LED lights built into my Black Diamond Screen! So, after all the ranting, I've discovered. Magnolia is just as likely to sell you something you don't need as anyone else. Trusted advisor is not what you get but what you dig for yourself.

Great value for home theater set-up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Geek Squad installed my system, consisting of a TV, BD Player, AVR, 7.1 speaker system, and Logitech Harmony Ultimate remote. They spent a lot of time and effort on the set-up, and it was definitely worth it to pay them to do the set-up. We did have some issues due to the complexity of modern technology; however, they came out again and did a great job in helping me. There were a few things that they could not fix, but I was able to do so through the use of internet forums. Of course, there are so many products out there, I can't expect the agents to know about the issues of every product. So, overall, I found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful, but might expect a little more for this agents of this type of service. They were also a little messy during the installation in-ceiling speakers. Nevertheless, I would still highly recommend this service, as it will save you time, and they will make everything look professional. They are also motivated to keep you satisfied.

Professional, quality installation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Normally I'd do this type of install myself, but Best Buy included this with the TV purchase. I was surprised there was only one installer for a 60" TV and I was certain he'd need my help, but I was amazed to watch him do the entire install on his own. He was very professional, the TV was mounted above my fireplace perfectly and not even a smudge on the TV. Excellent job!

65" TV "core silver" service $169.99
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We paid $69 for delivery and another $169 for core silver service. Install was just OK. I expected more for a service I paid $169 for !! They plugged in the TV, the cable box and programed the sound bar. They said it takes too long to wait for firmware updates so they said we can DIY it (services on my contract says that's included). Ir blaster comes with the TV. Installer said I had to use the set top box (cable) remote...after googling I find the IR blaster works with the set top box to use the TV remote and use all the great "smart TV" features. Not happy with this lazy installation.

Did Half of the work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Made it clear I needed the TV mounted and the speaker craft smart path kit I purchased set up and I could hook everything else up myself. I got home to find the tv mounted nicely but the smart path kit not set up as they hooked up the main sensor and left everything else in the box. Normally not a huge deal but I now have no way to use the remote and have to get up and open the closet every time I want to change the channel. There response to my wife was that they don't plug anything in. Apparently I paid for a custom labor for nothing. Get a person who is efficient in wiring if you want to hide your components.

You Pay For One Thing Receive Another!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Avoid the Geek Squad Installation Team. Back in November 2014 I purchased an in wall installation package. Here it is January 2015 issue still unresolved. The customer relation department can't resolve any issues. Each time I speak with a rep. I'm on hold for 30-40 mins. Issue still unresolved.

Great Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was reticent to mount television myself. The installers were on site at the start of the stated installation window. They mounted my television quickly and took me through the networking they performed on my system. They installed my new receiver as well as my television and showed me the steps needed to operate my system. It was much quicker and easier than doing it myself. They stand by their work, leaving me with peace of mind. I would definitely recommend this service.

Complete Cluster and Waste of Time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a 65 inch TV w/free delivery and added the $100 TV install package. The other option was a full mounting package, which puts the bracket on the wall, and feeds the wiring to the bracket. I already have a 55 inch mounted to the wall. Just needed to take it down put the other one up and plug into the wires that are there. They send ONE GUY to do the install, who tells me he can't put it on the wall for $100. Apparently, if you want the TV on the wall, you have to pay the full $200, even if the bracket and wiring is already there. Although it doesn't say that anywhere. Even if I paid more, they only sent ONE GUY. How about they call the night before (which the delivery scheduling says they will) and verify scope of work, so no one takes the day off to sit home for an install that never happens?? That would make too much sense, I guess. Horrible experience. I will not buy from Best Buy again.

Fantastic, Time Saver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Geek Squad TV installation/bracket mounting is amazing. They are quick, efficient. Sure, you could do this yourself, but these guys can hook up your speakers, mount the bracket, explain everything to you, etc. in the time it would take me to simply mount the bracket and ensure it's level. They also ensure that you have a good viewing angle of the TV. Couldn't be better.

If I could give a 0 I would!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a television and mounting services over the phone. During the call, I arranged for the mounting services and TV setup to occur on the same day. Or so I thought. Geek Squad arrived to do the mounting and setup before the TV arrived!! Geek Squad was clueless, and said that they would reach out to a district manager and get back to me. They never did. It gets worse. The TV arrived later that day. I called Best Buy to ask what the problem was and the consultant I spoke with was also clueless. After explaining my situation to him multiple times, he said that he would arrange for Geek Squad to come back to perform the mounting services and setup. He never did. Instead, I got an email from Best Buy indicating that my order was complete. They would have been happy to take my money and never perform the services that they were paid to perform. In the end I requested a refund. Of course I spent another 20 minutes on the phone with them while they figured out how to refund me. I'll do the setup myself. The experience was miserable and time consuming. I will never shop at Best Buy again!

Don't do it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this service to help install a horrible DVD/ sound system that we could not get to work. The clerk said it was fine and would not exchange it. Suggested geek assist. The system still doesn't work and I am out the $160 for geek assist that was of no help. They just told me to go buy a hdmi cable and put it on myself. I complained and Someone contacted me to assist then I never heard back from him. This is a total waste of money. I am now out price of system and price of installation.

Terrible

Waste of Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband went to our local Bestbuy and paid over $800 for the Geek Squad to mount 3 TVs and plug the power cords into the outlet which occurred on 4/18/14; yes I have had a long discussion with my husband regarding my feelings of the money wasted. What I did not know was the exact price of each item until today (4/24/14). This company charged $149.00 per TV to "set up TV and video" which we did not have any equipment except for a sound bar for the largest TV which the Geek Squad left sitting on our fireplace mantel unplugged!!! I am livid by the amount this company charges for simple service.....I will NEVER purchase anything else from Best Buy nor use the Geek Squad for anything in the future!! And yes, I plan to become a do-it-yourselfer

Horrible Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ordered two televisions with wall mounts and geek squad installation. They delivered the TVs two days ago and they are still in the box. Installation was scheduled for today called to check for service window and was informed my order was cancelled yet Best Buy has the money. If I had not called I would have been waiting for installation no one would have shown up. First and last time using Geek Squad!

Poor service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently had Best Buy come to home to do a TV installation with various competent. The consultation seemed good. However, everything we were promised with our installation was never done during installation. After they were finished they didn't spend anytime showing us to use the new electronics. Somehow they disconnected my home phone and that doesn't even work now. We have trying to get them back to our house for over a week now but no luck.
