Customers are saying

Customers regard the product's overall performance, connectivity, battery life, and charging dock very highly. Many also praise its ease of use, ergonomics, broad compatibility, and the pleasant feel, button quality, and weight. However, some customers note concerns about stick drift, find the buttons to be smaller than desired, and miss the inclusion of NFC functionality.

Really great build quality, I love everything about this controller I was skeptical at first because I wasn't familiar with the brand but it has far exceeded my expectations, I love using it with my switch

Works better than another similar controller I had, for less money, with the base and dongle. Got the Xbox buttons to make them line up with game prompts

A definite upgrade for the Nintendo switch. The rumble is fantastic and the charging dock is sleek and well designed. No regrets on my purchase.

I love this thing. Has motion controls and remapping for all the buttons via a free app. Much better than the Nintendo brand Switch Pro

I bought a new controller and wait a week. However there is dirt and short hair on it. So I think it is a pre-owned one.

A Solid Option for Switch Owners

This controller not only feels great to use, it also has some neat functionality with Switch 1 specifically. Despite being third party, if you plug the controller dock into the Switch dock and lift the controller off the base, it should wake the Switch up. It's a neat way to get around not being able to wake the system due to it being third party. The controller also works on the new Switch 2, but that functionality of lifting it from the dock to wake the system up no longer works. My only gripe is the smaller buttons. They are Xbox style. That won't affect 99.9% of games you play, but it's very uncomfortable for a game like Mario Party World where you are constantly holding down A to drive. The controller does allow you to plug it into a PC and modify the button layout. This allows you to use the back buttons to drive instead. Just know that those are not recognized by Switch 2 by default. Overall, this has been a solid controller that I highly recommend for customizability and build quality.

    Feels Premium, Plays Smoothly

I’ve been using this controller for a few weeks now, and I have to say, it’s really impressive. The joysticks feel super smooth and precise, and I haven’t noticed any stick drift at all, which is a big plus. The controller feels solid in your hands but isn’t too heavy, so playing for long sessions is comfortable. The charging dock is awesome too—it keeps everything neat, charges the controller, and even stores the dongle so you don’t lose it. Connecting it is really easy, whether it’s via Bluetooth, the 2.4 GHz dongle, or wired. I also love that you can customize buttons and profiles using the software—it’s nice to have the back paddles for extra controls too. Battery life is solid and lasts through long gaming sessions. A couple of small things I noticed: the triggers feel a little soft compared to the Switch Pro Controller, and it doesn’t have HD rumble or NFC for Amiibo. A few people online have mentioned connection issues, but I haven’t had any problems personally. Overall, this is a really solid controller if you want something that works well on both Switch and PC. The dock and customization options make it feel like a premium setup, and I’m really happy with it.

The dock is quite handy to have and is one of my favorite features of this controller. I've been switching back and forth between using this controller for my switch and my pc and it feels like a perfect fit. It's got a decent weight to it and has a satisfying low rumble.

I love this controller! I use it with my Nintendo switch. The battery last forever and it feels great in my hands. I've had a couple of these 8bitDo controllers and they have great build quality and last forever. Be sure to double check that the one you are buying is compatible with whatever you want to use it for. They sometimes have multiple models that look the same but have different compatibilities.

Controller connects to both Switch and our own Personal Computer, can use it for both when playing Mario Party and then play some Stardew Valley on the PC, besides that it has great battery life, I don't have to charge it that often.

It kinda makes you scratch your head because this controller feels much more premium than what they're charging for. I love the textured feel it has but it doesn't "feel" textured. It grips really well. Couple things to get used to is that it isn't as wide as other controllers so it feels a little weird at first. If you've got really big hands you may come across a little bit more fatigue than say an xbox or actual nintendo controller. However, you get used to it super quick and it feels amazing. Triggers are wonderful. It is super nice in every respect and plus... you get a charging dock and it is super convenient to use. You'll regret not buying it.

I had bought a two pack of controllers that said they would work for the original Switch, but did not. When I went to return them, the employee working told me about these controllers and at first I wasn’t sure because of the price tag, but after a few weeks of having the two 8bitdo controllers, I couldn’t be happier! They come with a charging dock, they are super easy to set up, and most importantly, they work!

    Great controller for PC gaming

Pros: Charging dock and it acts as a range extender Hall effect sensors (Bluetooth version with Switch button layout) Fully configurable button mapping including two back buttons Everything else except... Cons: Bumpers rattle No precise battery level indication or reporting A little delayed on wireless PC reconnection I use this for PC gaming. Great controller, comfortable, inclusion of a charging dock at this price is impressive. Inside the dock there's a wireless dongle for connection in to PC X-Input mode, the dock itself acts as a USB passthrough, so the dongle can just stay in there, also acting as a range extender. This more than makes up for the Bluetooth mode being tied exclusively to Switch controller configuration. I've found no issues charging off PC USB (3.2 gen 1). My only issue with the controller build is the shoulder bumpers rattle quite a bit. If these were face buttons I'd be worried about the getting stuck, but I don't expect bumpers are prone to that. Everything else seems very built, the things that should be smooth are smooth, things that should be crisp are crisp. Vibration is strong, I have it turned all the way down in the controller configuration and in my games and it's still noticable. It's a slower rumble, not buzzy. Reconnection to 2.4GHz when waking the controller is a tad slow, compared to say a Dualsense using Bluetooth. But it not too big a deal. I haven't done any marathon gaming on it, so can't say if the battery life claim is accurate, but it's certainly had no issues for a few hours at a time. However, I can't figure out how to really check the battery level besides a low, charging, or fully charged LED. So far as I can tell it's not reported to Windows, perhaps it is on the Switch. The documentation isn't amazing. But usage is relatively intuitive. And given the price point, I don't expect a dedicated team making regionalized translations. There is a replaceable button set available from the manufacturer to get X-Box button configuration, with shipping to US it's about $10, but may take awhile to arrive. Given the one that comes with Xbox buttons uses potentiometer sticks, it's definitely worth getting this version for PC.

Feels better in your hands, feels better to use, joysticks are nice and precise. Charge lasts forever. I haven’t had to charge mine yet and I’ve had it for weeks (albeit with inconsistent use). D-pad is great, buttons feel high quality and tactile. Ability to switch between bluetooth and 2.4 on the fly is incredibly convenient. Overall a solid, well made controller.
