OK install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used the service because I thought the 83" TV was a little big for me to handle. Instead of removing the TV from the packing, they broke the Styrofoam around the base to make it easier to add the mount. OK, but I wanted to keep the packaging, for future moves. I just had them hang the TV, replace the in wall cables, and I connected the rest.

Horrible Job Connecting Tuner and Surround Sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The service person was here for 3 hours and obviously struggled with the setup. At one point he was packing up and ready to leave and I asked to demo the hook up so that I was assured all speakers were working. They did not work, so he spent another hour on the hookup. They were working when he left. A few nights later, my fiancée and I decided to watch a movie and enjoy our new surround sound. Shortly after starting the movie the tuner tripped off…we restarted several times and it kept tripping off. We pulled out the owners manual and discovered the error message was telling us the line shorted. We pulled out the tuner and discovered a mess of wires connected on the back. There were exposed wires and a lot of the wires were intertangled. It was a mess! We disconnected everything and reconnected with no exposed wires or lines tangled between each other. It has worked perfectly since we disconnected and reconnected properly. What a waste of money to have Geek Squad come out…never again!

No more Geek squad for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure why you are contracting stuff! There is a total disconnect between customer, GeeK squad and third party of work expectations! I needed an AV receiver connected and I have Xfinity box, air play and blue tooth Receiver and all the technician did was connect wires to receiver that were already connected to speakers! I am no ???? and even my 12 yr old could do that! Not for $150?????

Geek Squad busted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not good.Sadly! The guy got it wrong, out TV was good but the plug in our receiver was bad. He never got anything going really. We did the work yet had to pay. I lost any confidence or faith in Geek Squad.

Geek Squad failed me repeatedly.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took until 3 weeks after the purchase and 5 visits from Geek Squad to install one printer, one AV Receiver, and one Fire TV Cube. Sales consultant approved the purchase of a Amazon Echo, but it didn't do the job of controlling a TV. One person was sent to do both computer printer and TV/Audio work, but two people should of been sent. One technician came 2 hours before the scheduled window and I wasn't home. I called him and got his voice mail which said to call his boss at a number that had been disconnected because she doesn't work for Best Buy any longer. The tech didn't know the Dot wouldn't do the job until working on it over a half hour and calling his office. The whole process was a fiasco and one I wish I had never started with Best Buy.

Poor follow-up from MGMT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the technician did not solve the issue in fact made it worse. The connection to the centre speaker was loose causing the amp to keep shutting off. I didn't have the issue before the service. When they told me it would be over a week before they could comeback out I fixed it myself. A supervisor contacted me about this later and was going to arrange for another tech to come out and reprogram my universal remote (I previously bought from you). I never heard back from them. Very disappointing. I no longer want anyone to come back out. I think I deserve my money back.

WHEN WILL THE GEEK SQUAD PROPERLY SET-UP MY AVR?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Scheduled installation for 4/8/21 not performed as Geek Squad technician not comfortable with performing install. One week later on 4/16/21 a different Geek Squad technician installed the Denon Receiver according to how he felt it should be done but not according to Denon protocol and receiver and connected audio/video devices not working correctly and audio components not connected at all. Newly scheduled appointment time for 5/14/21 as confirmed with email from Best Buy on 5/11/21 ignored and technician promised for install by Best Buy In-Home Advisor on 5/11/21 ignored as well and technician that improperly connected receiver on 4/16/21 and I requested not to be resent to my home sent anyway on 5/14/21. Best Buy's Geek Squad Installation Team has no interest in fulfilling what has been promised to the customer but only getting in/out as quickly as possible regardless of what actually needs to be performed.

Slow down and teach me.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The agent that installed my Marantz SR6015 made one major mistake. He connected the cable input connection to the cable box output connection. I was chasing that one around for quite a while before I found it and got cable working. He set up the device well but was in too big of a hurry.

Bad experience with subcontractors from geek squad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We finally got everything set up right. It took 4 appointments with subcontractor. 1st attempt guy missed appointment time and tried to come at 8pm. 2nd he didn’t set up right. 3rd never showed up. 4th finally got set up right. Disappointed geek squad person. Subcontractor acknowledged they were not very educated on setting up audio receivers.
