I bought this as a spare power adapter for a travel kit, so it's one less thing to have to worry about packing for a trip. It costs more than third-party, but I don't have to worry about quality or voltage mismatch. Works great.

When I was looking for a way to recharge the Switch, I looked at all types of methods such ad USB-C cables, docking stations, and 3rd party AC plugs. After extensive research, I finally decided to purchase this official AC adapter. First, USB Type C cables can charge the Nintendo Switch, but it appears that the voltage is not exactly what the Nintendo Switch needs to properly recharge. It will take longer to recharge the system, and if the power source you use to plug the USB Type C cord is not powerful enough, the console could discharge faster than it charges. Next up, docking stations. I searched far and wide and could not find any docking stations (other than the official one that comes with the system) that would work from a 3rd party. The Nintendo Switch docking station was specially designed to transfer the video signal via the USB connector into the HDMI plug in the official docking station. So this ruled out finding a 3rd party docking station. Finally, I saw some 3rd party plugs that may work but where a hit-or-miss according to some reviews. Rather than take a risk, I stuck with this official charging AC plug. It's the same one that comes with the Nintendo Switch system, so you know for sure that it will work right. My only criticism with this plug is that it is a bit on the short side at 6-feet in length. A 10-foot cable would have been better to allow for a bit more reach. But luckily the length worked for my purposes. Thus, I didn't dock it any points for the length. I wanted to mention the 6-foot length, however, for other potential customers that may see this as an issue.

Pretty straight forward. It does what it is supposed to do for Nintendo Switch.

Works super well, able to charge my phone and switch no matter what game I am playing. Able to charge over any game that tries to chow through battery.

Needed it to connect to the Tv worked perfectly when playing.

This is the best adaptor the switch has. It can charge the switch, be connected to the switch dock and also charges the switch pro controller. That makes it the multi useful adaptor. Best for charging the pro controller.

3rd cord i bought so far, just because it's a pain to crawl under the entertainment centers when trying to take it with me. The travel use cord is holding up extremely well and doesn't show any wear as of yet, and USB-C is so much better than previous incarnations, if only for the fact that it's almost impossible to plug it in the wrong way (which helps keep it in tact, since you don't have to twist it around trying to find the proper way to plug it in) If only it wasn't so expensive

Since I travel, it’s nice to have an adapter that I can just take with me rather than having to unplug it from the console and then plug it back in. As an official Nintendo Switch product, I know it is safe to use for my Switch and it fits perfectly in my Commuter Case. Small price to pay for convenience and knowing that the adapter will not harm my Nintendo Switch. Well worth the $29.99. :)

Although $30 is really too much for what it is, you really shouldn't cheap out and by a third party power adapter. Nintendo makes very reliable products, and this one is no exception.

Works great since you have to have a specific charging cord for the switch.

People complain about the price but I've done my research and this one is the best for your Nintendo. There is PD (power delivery) tech that allows the switch to charge much faster than a standard USB-C cable connected with a USB jack. Even jacks that support 5V at 3amps can't charge as fast that this. Save yourself the headache and get this charger. The only downside is the length of the cable, but an extension cable will solve that.

This is great for charging on the go or when not docked. I picked this up to add to my backpack so that I can charge the switch while on vacation or traveling around. It goes in with all of my other travel charges that I use for vacations and such. But I do find myself even using it at home when needed to get a quick charge instead of docking the switch device and not playing on the big screen. Would highly recommend with the purchase of any switch device.

Its the standard nintendo switch power cable. Good enough I guess.

The Nintendo Switch has some odd power draw specifications, even when being charged in handheld mode. So while it can technically be charged using any USB-C charger, it’s a very good idea to use an official Nintendo charger that can provide the exact charging profile that the Switch wants. If you are planning to charge your Switch outside of the dock, this is a must-buy!
