Excited but let down

My daughter was excited to get home and start playing with her new chromebook. We open it up and "Chrome OS is missing or damaged" shows up. After an hour of trying to restore it with a USB flash drive and a call to Google (who were fantastic at 10pm), they advised me that it was defective and I should return it. How sad. Our first Chromebook and we have a bad taste in our mouth. Disappointed.

Garbage!

Within 7 months had to take one back. 2 months later both had LED light go out. I took to Geek squad they were very unhelpful and nasty. 9 months 2 bought same day are trash. I was given a quote of $ 249.45 each to repair a $150 chrome book?? They are garbage!! Geek squad in Boardman very unhelpful and insulting. Won't be going back to Best Buy or buying another Acer ever!!

Missing seabios
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.In the event that you want to install something else, you cannot. You HAVE to use crouton. Apparently none of the BayTrail chromebooks have seabios. There are some people working on making (unofficial) firmware images, but at this time I would not recommend it to anyone. DO NOT BUY - DOES NOT WORK

I've tried on multiple networks where other devices works with any combination of chromebook-phone-mac receiving and sending audio signal and it only works 1 out of 10 times. Almost always the communication from the chromebook is gibberish making this device completely useless. I'll be returning both to the store today Really disappointed

Booted once - Merry Christmas
