Good buy for a senior citizen

She has never had a home computer and hasn't used a computer for over a decade. Easy set up and very easy to show her how to use it. Small and lightweight which she wanted. It seemed like a good price and we bought Acer based upon brand experience.

Great starter for a child

She really didn't need a full functioning laptop and this Acer chromebook has been perfect for playing games, listening to music etc..

OK CHromebook

If you settled upon it in place of awaiting something better I'd recommend waiting and getting something superior. And mind you I bought 2 of them.

Pretty good for the price

It does the first two very well, but video chat - not so much. Problem 1 is that you cannot install OOVOO, despite it being in the chrome store, it's actually just a link to the website, so you cannot use it. The google version (hangouts) doesnt work like all the other devices, you cannot call people on it. You just get a link that you can send to people via email, then when they click it they join your call.. Even if that is 12 days later and you are talking to someone else... Not great.

I believe this child will like it very much. Was purchased on a daily special on my computer. The value for a child of this age group was excellent!!
