I bought this item to use on a road trip, so I wouldn't have to carry my big laptop. The Chromebook doesn't do anything I can't do on my phone and I don't like the way the apps load. I'm returning the device and opting to upgrade my phone.

I bought it for my wife as Christmas gift and she loved it. It's lightweight, compact, battery last long and runs smooth (browsing the internet and watch netflix). I love fanless design so it stays cool on the lap for long. This chromebook definitely worth $180 I paid for.

I waited too long to discover the ease and convenience of using a Chromebook. No, it is not a full-blown computer. It won't do Office like a PC. But for using the internet, email, research, banking, etc., it is fabulous. They have made the use of the mouse pad easy. Be sure you learn the tricks, like one thump or two or using two fingers to scroll.
I think of the Chromebook as a very good tablet with a built-in real keyboard. In fact, for all it does, the price is great, too, compared to a tablet. You can get one with a touchscreen but I didn't because the mouse pad is so functional. Last I must mention the battery and boot up time. Eight seconds is pretty quick. The battery lasts all day and evening for me. I've yet to get below 50%. I carry it all over the house, take it to appointments for use when waiting. The WiFi links up quickly. The Bluetooth works smoothly and connects quickly. Great device. My PC now stays off. I'm more secure browsing with the Chromebook. No virus protection needed.

I don't feel that the associate was very knowledgeable of the product I bought. He basically agree with everything I said, but that's okay. My son enjoys his Chrome Book, and that's all that matters.

Excellent laptop for the money. Bought it as an extra for the house, for my boyfriend starting classes again. It is perfect. It's fast, convenient and the battery lasts pretty long. It's very light weight and easy to transport.

I picked this Chromebook 11inch from bestbuy.com this 2015 Thanks giving. I had very less expectation from the Chromebook, until...
I have been using this for last 4 hours and it has surpassed my expectations in almost all front.
Performance : Websites open fast, booked two flight tickets - same time as it would take using Mac-book pro Battery Life
Battery life: Almost 4 hours since I opened the box and the battery is still showing have charged for another 5 hours with 54% left.
Music: I listened to music using headphones and without. Its clear and nice.
Printer setup - Was a breeze
Streaming: I streaming an episode from my Plex Media server and it streamed it smoothly.
Areas where it can be better is
Camera - It is a joke, the quality is pathetic.
Screen Resolution, it could be a little more sharper. Nothing bad.
Overall, for $99 it is a steal deal and google is giving 3 free movies( SD quality) from its play store.
There is also a 12 free gogo inflight session. I won't use it as Southwest does not use gogo.

Best budget laptop if you don't NEED Windows

First, let's get one thing straight, this review takes into account the price. I got this thing for $129, which is just insane. There are better machines, but for $175 or less this is fantastic. Amazing battery life, decent build, looks nice, crazy light weight, and if you can work around the Chrome OS (most people can without question) it runs better than most Windows machines that are 2 to 3 times the price.

I wouldn't buy it. I got it for my brothers birthday and it couldn't even do the things he needed it for. Maybe buy it only if you're trying to surf the web.

Not a good but at all. Started shutting off on its own among other problems within a month of purchase. Spend a couple hundred more and get something decent.

I love my chromebook. This is my first laptop, but i have used others before. I love how fast it is and how i can leave it off charge for a day or so and then walk right up and still be able to use it for hours. The touch pad is a little loose but i can overlook that tiny flaw because of how well the OS and the computer itself work.

This was used for my 9th grade student. After 9 months of use and using flash drive for memory, it decided not to charge at all. My son left the charger in and in the 10th month it was charging. After a full charge, he noticed it was not turning on. I will take it back to Best Buy to see if the battery is dead (although I do not see an area to place another battery). I would not buy another Acer again.
