Looked brand-spanking new but (refurbished.) It was charged enough as is to cut on, which took a minute or so. It is 4 years old and already out of date. The first thing you see when turning it on is a message stating that this device will no longer receive updates from Acer. Yes, $87 is a great price, but not something that is out of date. Also, with the included security package, although it states that it is free, Best Buy will charge you for it when you return it because "they can't tell if you used it". Then be prepared to be on the phone for two hours being transferred to various people trying to get your $29 back.

We appreciate you taking the time to write this review. We understand this is frustrating; unfortunately this is Google's Auto Update policy which applies to all Chromebook manufacturers. You can find more information about this policy at: https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6220366?hl=en. Unfortunately Acer does not control the add-ons that a reseller may bundle with a product, but please note that you will still be able to continue using your device with its current software.

It seems to work well. The camera is not that great but it works for their class meetings. Overall you can beat the price.
