Excellent Chromebook
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with this purchase. Purchased strictly for surfing the web. Bought it on sale for $269.99. I have two Win10 laptops and a MacBook Pro Retina for heavy lifting. Solid build quality and an excellent screen. Keyboard and trackpad are very good. A little laggy at times.

Bad Experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a discussion with a condescending unhelpful sales person, who erroneously told me they were touch screen, I bought 2 Acer 14" Chromebooks for my grandkids. The first one would not power on and had to be exchanged, neither could be configured to manage supervised users as Google advertises and they weren't touch screen. I exchanged then both for Samsung touch screens, same problem, one would not boot up and had to be exchanged, and even the Geek Squad could not make Google supervised users work. I can't recommend either Best Buy or Chromebooks.

Cheaply made..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the Acer Chromebook 14 for Christmas and now, a month and half later, the touchpad is not working. I connected a mouse, but it's hard to navigate and won't allow me to click on certain buttons. There are several suggestions on how to fix this, pressing escape several times, tapping on the touchpad quickly, none of it worked and you should NOT have to do this anyway. I am using a spare Mac Air now that is almost 12 years old and the touchpad is still working perfectly. Worst part of this, Best Buy could care less because they only will accept returns within 15 days. This should not have stopped working in less than 2 months and it's a shame that they do NOT stand by their products for at least 60-90 days, especially after the holidays unless you are an Elite Program Member. Now I have to send the thing out to the manufacturer and I will be without a laptop for 2-6 weeks. I would not recommend this product at all, the touchpad feels cheap and I guess it is made that way.

A solid build for the price point
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wife has had an Acer C-10 Chromebook for 5 years and I thought it was time to retire that one to the grandchildren after buying a new battery. I am more than impressed with the build quality of this new Acer Chromebook as it rivals the Mac with the all aluminum case and keyboard feel.As long as one knows what to expect from a Chromebook you will not be disappointed with this baby.

Good for Basic Coursework
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is awesome for taking notes, watching netflix, sending emails and such. Only complaint is that from being in my (actually well padded) laptop compartment in my bookbag the top of the outside is getting unsightly black marks on it. I'm a little surprised and upset by how not very durable this chromebook is.

Great for students
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this item as a birthday gift for my brother to help him with his school work and it works great. It was easy to set up and since the school works almost exclusively with Google Docs it has made it easier for him to work on school assignments and projects.

Charging port broke within 1 year and 1 month
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this chromebook in December 2016 and it is now March 2018 and the charging port is broken. I started having problems with the charging port in January 2018. The charger falls out of the port, so I currently have it taped in one specific place so the charger stays in and charges. Took my chromebook to Best Buy and they said it would be $200-300 to fix it. I could buy a whole new chromebook for that price. This chromebook is in perfect condition still. No scratches, bumps, cracks, anything. Very disappointed that I have to go buy a new chromebook soon since I just bought this just over a year ago. If you are going to buy this, buy the extended warranty. I only had the year warranty and of course, it breaks right after my warranty expired.

Networking issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have seen a lot of refurbished models for sale on Amazon, so that should have gave me pause. This computer looks and feels gorgeous - it was meant to replace my 2011 Macbook Air. Two issues - major and minor. Minor is that it's not that fast, and gets a little buggy with even 7 tabs open. The major issue is finding or staying on network. At home, it sits 4 feet away from a very large Netgear wireless router. Yet, it will constantly drop off network. When I am mobile, it has taken me 30 minutes for it to find my hotspot, and then I run into the same problems. Unfortunately, I am outside my return window, otherwise it would be gone by now. It will make a nice paperweight...

No screen, brand new
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my daughter for Christmas, right out of the box, plugged in the laptop and let it sit for a little bit of time. Came back and pressed the power button and nothing. Plugged the laptop into a monitor and come to find out the screen does not work. Now i have to send it into Acer for a 7-10 day repair. Thanks Acer.

Very poor body build
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good looking laptop with very poorly built body. Its right hand side is assembled very loose and squeaks every time you press on. Worse than most of laptops with plastic materials. Very disappointing.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At school we were forced to use these for testing, they were laggy and cheap. Also it dropped 3 feet and the whole thing fell apart. Horrible quality and extremely slow
