A Very Average Chromebook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.There are a lot of people who hate Chromebooks and even more people who don't understand them (e.g. they can't understand that Chromebooks won't run Windows or Windows-based programs, and they also cannot run all the same apps as a phone or tablet). I actually own three other Chromebooks and I've been using them for years. So I understand the OS and therefore my critique is of this specific Chromebook and not the OS or the limitations or usability of Chromebooks generally. This Acer 15.6" Chromebook with an Intel Celeron and 4GB RAM memory is pokey, has a relatively loud and cheap-feeling keyboard, and features a monitor which isn't particularly bright and has somewhat washed-out and grayish color. This computer is suitable for basic web browsing, accessing the suite of Google apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc), but gets bogged down when you try to watch a high-resolution YouTube video with a few other tabs open. It think there are better Chromebooks for just a few bucks more, and unless you are on a really tight budget I would recommend investing in a better machine.
