When a chance to test one came out, I jumped on it. My first thoughts came from a place of thinking of a Chromebook as a traditional computer. After several days of hands on use, I now understand more so that a Chromebook is more similar to a tablet or phone than a computer. For my use, this is perfect to have sitting next the sofa for occasional browsing and not on my desk for "Work". This Acer is sleek, lightweight, and fast enough for web browsing. Again, I will add the phrase for traditional browsing, steaming (like Netflix – but not really in 1080p), and online videos. The stock parts of this device however are not ideal for even the normal processing a computer would offer (i.e. gaming, video / photo editing, movie down loads). Using Google Play, I found I needed to be selective as to what I downloaded due to file size. The chrome apps seem to be a better fit but are limited (popularity and usage?) The hard drive only offers 16gb at 1.6ghz means you can have fun but with restraints. The screen is big, bright, and the long battery life allows for max resolution and display for hours. All said, I really like this Chromebook and it has become a staple on my coffee table.
