Ok product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen is a bit fragile, more fragile than other computer screens ive delt with. The product its self is fine for its intended purpose being school work and business work. The sale price was good enough to make the purchase.

Excellent value for the price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.About 5 years ago, I purchased the first Acer Chromebook to come to market; primarily due to my fascination with the ability to be able to purchase a laptop for less than $200. I recognized at the time that this was no desktop or full size laptop replacement, but thought it would serve well as a second machine to keep handy for quick browsing, email, etc. It was a curiosity for a bit, but soon became the source of continual family complaints. The touchpad was finicky, leading to a lot of misclicks, the resolution wasn't the greatest, and neither was the battery life. After 6 months it pretty much gave up half its run time, and I had to purchase a new one after a year. But, 5 years is a long time as far as new tech goes (how often do you change your phone nowadays), and to all appearances, they haven't ignored the chromebook. First off, not even sure a 15.6 screen can be called a book - more like a magazine! The resolution has improved dramatically, and doesn't get fuzzy around the edges The finish of the screen is excellent, while moving from room to room under various lighting conditions I couldn't detect any glare; the screen remained bright & clear no matter the light intensity or angle. I must admit I'm no millennial, and didn't grow up with a phone attached to me, so I was never comfortable with disposing of the left & right buttons on the touchpad - I prefer a solid tactile click. If you're someone that was disenchanted with an early Chromebook touchpad, it's an improvement that I appreciated greatly. I was also surprised at the inclusion of an SSD drive at this price point - sure you don't get terabyte size, but it does wonders for battery life. I didn't have a timer clock on it, but it's had intermittent use for 5-6 days now, and it's still not screaming for an electric socket. Hopefully the life cycle of the battery itself has been extended as well. The other surprise was the inclusion of quality speakers versus the weak, tinny sound of the original Chromebooks that had worse sound than what comes out of your phone speaker. I guess my major point is that if, like me, you were disappointed with a first generation Chromebook, you might want to give this a look over. It's much more of a comfortable & satisfying machine to use, has a full size screen, better sound, better battery life, and better looking than its predecessor. All at the same price it was 5 years ago - good deal.

Working good for my home schooled daughter!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was told the chrome book was good for students by friends and the salesman took time to explain the differences between it and other’s. The only thing I am having trouble with is getting it to print on my Hp all in one.

Simple. Functional. Capable. Tremendous Value.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whenever discussing a Chromebook, one must account for what it is meant to be and what it is. Chromebooks, in general, and on the value end with this model, will not offer the shiniest and best specs, but honestly, they are not supposed to. It is simply about allowing you to accomplish the most common everyday tasks. After some time spent with this Acer machine, I can say that it does those very things well. The machine is a solid device, especially for the very affordable price. It has a nice look (with a brushed metal dark gray plastic design), is solidly built and relatively light given the 15” inch screen. There is a nice selection of ports, fast 802.11AC built-in WiFi, a pair of “decent” speakers, and a keyboard that I rather like. Battery-life has been impressive, and I think that will hold over time. Performance-wise, I have no complaints. Boot times are just about instantaneous, and initial set-up is ridiculously quick and easy. You are up and running in no time. Once there, I just love the simplicity the Chrome OS provides. Let’s be honest, most of us…check e-mail, watch videos, spend some time on social media, buy a thing or two and browse the web. There is probably (and hopefully) some writing, spreadsheet, or other productivity in there as well. When we go to buy a computer, we buy more than we need. Obviously, there are exceptions, but generally, this is the case. For “most” people, I think this Chromebook is all they need. It does those things we do and does them well. All of that said, if I had to pick this machine apart for one thing, it is the display. It is large, does get bright, and I like the matte style (although this is personal preference), but after being on so many high-resolution screens for so long, the 1080p does not look very crisp, is a little washed out, and given the price point is understandably not touchscreen. Is it a deal breaker? Given the value provided, no, but it is something to keep in mind. Ultimately, if you understand what you are getting, keep your expectations in line with the intended use case for this machine and are a typical user, this machine should meet all your needs. It is no beast, but it never sells itself that way. Rather, it is a simple, functional and capable machine that gets stuff done and offers tremendous value.

Works as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a chrome book for simple web browsing and email, because my regular computer takes too long to boot up. This one fills the bill. If I was going to do it again, I would probably get the one with the 12 inch screen.

No complaints from me!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great machine. As I no longer have faith in Windows (3 laptops in 3 yrs have crashed after Windows updates) and I would never use Apple, I'm happy to have a quality product I can count on from Google.

Decent laptop for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop from Acer is a decent laptop for general use, such as web surfing and emails or documentation. It is not especially light, nor with a blazing processor, but it isn’t advertised that way.
