Simple & Awesome!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first experience with using a Chromebook and I have to say I really like it. Even if you are use to using Mac's or Windows like I am, you will find this platform very easy to use. In fact, the simplicity of the Chrome operating system is a big part of what makes this so easy to use. The computer itself is nicely made and about what you would expect for the price point. No, it's not going to rival a thousand dollar machine. But for it's intended use (web browsing & media) it really works nice. The combination of the 16gb flash memory and 4gb of memory make browsing the web, watching You Tube, listening to music and such a breeze. In fact, I am very impressed with the computers speed. Not sure how much the operating system has to do with that but either way, it's snappy. Just keep in mind what it is. This is not going to replace a power users machine. It features everything you need. Nice forward facing speakers, an SD card slot, HDMI, HDR webcam, two USB ports and 12 hour battery life. Pretty nice specs for this price. If there is one area that is not so great it is the viewing angles of the screen. The screen is fine for most applications. However, when trying to watch video in full screen mode things get a bit washed out looking. But it's not really an issue when you are not in full screen mode and really, for this price it's not a big deal. All in all this is a really nice, well performing computer that really can't be beat at this price. In fact, if you are on a budget I would easily take this over a machine with one of the competing operating systems in this price range. It honestly works that good! And if you are familiar with Google apps you will feel right at home.

Posted .Dear Appfighter,
We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with your Acer Chromebook. Chromebooks are different from standard laptop products in that they are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and documents living in the cloud. Because of this they don’t have much for on board storage but they also are not expensive either. Chromebooks run off apps like an Android phone or tablet so you cannot download and install applications or .exe files. If you need to use third party software applications that must be installed on the computer, a Chromebook is likely not for you, where a Windows laptop would suit you better. With that said, if you need some help with your Chromebook, please feel free to contact support from the info posted at http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service-contact
We appreciate you taking the time to write this review, and we value your feedback.
Best regards,
Acer America

Mediocre at best
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has been slow from the start. It takes a long time to load webpages, and I cannot have more than three tabs open at a time without it freezing. It does its job - but it does it slowly. Camera is low quality as well. You get what you pay for with this laptop.
