I am so happy that I chose this beautiful Acer Chromebook! After years of struggling with an incredibly slow, outdated netbook (yes, netbook!) I finally couldn't take it anymore and had to upgrade. This was a perfect choice! It's sturdy and substantial, yet comfortably portable. It's fast and incredibly easy to use, with the biggest, most beautiful screen you're going to find on a Chromebook. Last but not least, you can't argue with the price. Get it and you won't be disappointed! :)

We bought this Chrome book about 6 weeks ago and now have to send it back to Acer. Buyer beware. I had to give it one star, not even worth that.

The Acer Chromebook is a very nice device, especially for the very affordable price. It looks good, is relatively light in weight, and the plastic cover appears to be quite sturdy. It is quick to boot and quick in operation. Not coming with a lot of bloat-ware helps. Application-wise, Android apps are available from the Google Store allowing the download of production items like MS Works, Excel, etc. at no additional cost. That’s a money saver. For a student or other user on a budget who does not need huge storage and processing capacity, this is a good buy. I would have rated it 5 stars, but for the monitor resolution. With all the other assets packed into this device, you’d think there would be a better monitor. As an aside, I am spoiled to touch screens, which this is not. To be fair, that was not factored into the rating; because for less than $300, you can’t have everything. If you are on a budget, need a laptop, and want to get bang for your bucks, this one is a good buy.

Can't play DVD not what I wanted . Do not buy. But I should have done my homework on this thing ivam going to take it back.

I returned this chrome book ..it was like having a phone that looks like a laptop. Definitely was not what I expected.

I wasted my money on this laptop. Don’t waste your time with it. I had to go in and out of Best Buy in one week!

Had trouble from day 1. It had lines coming from the pointer. Tried to fix it but nothing would work.

With chromebook, you cant install programs. You can only download what they have online.

Didn’t like all the apps that you could use for this computer

I bought this Chromebook to replace my much smaller Samsung Chromebook. I was hooked right from the start. The large display is great for my aged eyes. The HD display is great for watching movies. I use it for simple tasks like Facebook, movies, YouTube, & banking. If you want to know the aspect ratio of the screen or if it has some high tech features I cannot help you. I just know that this laptop is awesome for me and probably those seeking a great Chromebook that fills the position in performing tasks as mentioned earlier. The up-facing speakers provide great sound quality for videos and/or music. They are not a fancy brand but get the job done well. The only thing I wish it had... is a DVD/CD player built in. But I am ecstatic with the laptop as it is! The laptop boots up and opens pages almost instantly with my high-speed internet. The laptop performs updates on its own. However, a simple restart is sometimes needed if you have been working on it for an extended period of time. I was hesitant of the Acer name at first. However, the unit was the only one offering a 15.6" screen at the time & it was on sale. I paired the laptop with an OfficeJet wireless printer with ease. I only wish I had purchased a laser version of the printer. I would buy this laptop again if (knock on wood) I dropped it or something. I think it would be ideal for a student doing research or people that don't need a standard laptop with all the programs they offer. The few apps I use run very well on this unit and do not slow it down.

If you want a laptop that turns on connects quickly to the internet and ties into your Google account and don't want to spend a lot of money this isn't a bad purchase. Overall, as a device it charged quickly and I was able to connect to my network without any issues, tie into my Google account and get going fairly quickly. Under 5 minutes all told. What I could do with the computer and change not a lot. It is a Chromebook. I only considered this because my children's school district use them in class and all their homework is done via Google Classroom or something like that. Having a Chromebook means something simple they can login with their school accounts to complete projects on the same system they use in school. The fact the battery lasts for around 12 hours depending on usage is handy. Means they can move around and use it. The 15" screen is nice and clear. The resolution isn't HD, but for the price it was not expected. If you need a device that is more than a tablet to connect to the Google infrastructure for school or something check and easy to connect to the Internet for web applications this is a fine device. It was also nice to see the device had two speakers on the front, allowing for clear listening of audio. My major complaint is that the keyboard is a bit off to my ability to type. It feels fine, but I kept hitting Cap Locks and not the A key because it seemed a bit off. Also the Power Button being part of the keyboard doesn't seem to provide feedback that hey you pushed me and I'm turning on. Took me a second to find the front LED to notice yes it is booting up. Though for a cheap device, it does have some nice features: HDMI out, so can be connected to a TV to do HD content. It has Bluetooth 4.2 and 4GB of Ram. Considering this OS is mostly all "web" based and like to save things in the google cloud the lack of local storage isn't too band and can be expanded with a SD Card as needed. The Celeron processor was snappy, though that may have been helped by the 4GB Of RAM too. But I didn't find it lagging as I was clicking around. The touchpad is the normal large click type. I've never been a fan, but it works well and is responsive. It does have AC Wireless, again that is nice having more current technology to get the best wireless speeds you can, assuming your router can match. Again this is a solid device if you need a Chromebook, or something a bit larger/easier to type on then a tablet and don't mind being in the Google Eco-System. The battery life does make it handy if you want to use it around the house during the day without being tethered to a plug. I think Acer built a solid device that should last a few years.

I have never owned a Chromebook before but was very interested in this new 15" model. I was not disappointed. The first thing is that there is nothing special about the physical characteristics of it. Plastic flat gray shell, plain keyboard and screen. But it is lightweight and really gets the job done. The other thing I love about it is the Google Play Store integration. I can download any app that I use on my phone and access it on the laptop. This is a very awesome feature. I spent about a whole day just messing around with apps. Then this is "instant on" from a wake and sleep perspective. I know this is nothing new with Chromebooks but still worth mentioning when it comes to performance and speed. There are no moving parts in the laptop so everything is instant. The battery life is respectable, but not overwhelmingly good. That may be the only thing that I can say could be improved. It has an HDMI port that I have already used to watch TV from a streaming app I downloaded from the Play Store and watched on my TV. It is a better experience than using a browser. I also stream my browser to my TV via my Chromecast which is an extra plus. Overall I really love this laptop and it has quickly replaced my old HP Windows Laptop.

The first thing I noticed is how large this chromebook is. It's huge. If you're looking for portability look elsewhere. The weight and feel of it is very light. Not heavy at all but it's too large to transport. I would suggest this for a young kid that wants to surf the Internet. Not for the high school or college student that needs to complete tasks. I do like the fact that it has an hdmi port to connect to an HDTV or other source. 12 hour battery life is great. I just can't recommend this for the student or a professional. Just for messing around surfing and playing games on the Internet.

Not impressed with chrome book...didn’t like it wouldn’t recommend

I bought this to have the ability to point/click/type. I have a Google smart home with 2 mini's, hub, chromecast, home along with smart TV, bulbs, outlets, doorbell, security camera, etc. I also have cloud space with several different providers. What I really needed is a device to be the centerpoint if it all. A device to gather and consolidate my digital footprint. Ultimately simplifying my life... so to speak. This chromebook does the job and for less than 200 bucks. It is way easier using this than trying to use touch and swipe with a phone or tablet. Even with a keyboard attached to my galaxy tab this just works better. It has the biggest screen available for a chromebook. The resolution us a bit grainy, the storage is definitely lacking but I picked up a 64 GB mini USB flash drive for $15 and it works great for handling the need for space. Overall I am impressed. It can do a whole lot more than meets the eye but it can also do as little as you want also. Pick one up, try it, dont like it return it. Simple. My suggestion is to buy a chromebook in this price range. The more expensive ones don't offer enough to justify the price jump..
