    This computer wouldn’t turn on 1 day after purchase. Took it to the geek squad and they couldn’t figure it out. They issued a replacement but now it won’t turn in either.

    Terrible. So slow. I thought it was my I internet and it's not. Takes forever to open apps or word docs. Should have returned it.

    Waste of money

    The screen went black with in the first two weeks and repeatedly won’t turn on without a hard reset and unplugging it and plugging it back in.

    3 weeks after purchase no screen display returned to store they said it was stuck in an update and fixed it. Will see how this goes

    My main PC for the last 6 years has been an Acer laptop. I never had a single issue with it and its still running strong. The only “issue” was that it didnt have the specs to upgrade to Windows 11. Enter the Acer A315. In the box you get the laptop of course, power adapter, some papers, and something I havent seen before it also comes with a nice color matched blue carrying case/ pouch. The laptop itself is a very nice blue that is a change of pace from the normal drab blacks and greys of most electronics. Its fairly light at under 4 lbs and feels thin as well. It has plenty of ports including one that I never go without and thats HDMI out. I connect my laptops to my Sony 55” TV as a monitor and that has worked out well in the past, and works perfect on this Acer as well. Its also got plenty of USB ports and a USB C as well. The keyboard has a great tactile feel to it with all the keys you would expect. Its not backlit though so thats a bit of a downer if you need that. But the overall design is very nice and well built. The initial set up is very easy. This is my first Windows 11 device so I am still getting use to the ins and outs of the latest Windows OS. But its not so different that it gets frustrating. Everything is searchable so if there is something not where you are use to it being a simple search will locate it. Id say I was up and running in 10 minutes or so. The performance is outstanding. Another feature I cant and wont go without is an SSD. And on my last Acer I had to buy a 500gb one and install it. Thankfully here it already has a 512gb SSD and that means things load and boot up very fast. Loading programs, writing documents, browsing, etc are all super fast and I never ran into any lag or delays. Not to mention the boot up time. Once powered on you are ready to go in a minute or so. The claimed battery life says up to 11 hours. In my experience with medium to heavy use I could easily get 8 hours which is outstanding. Longest of any laptop Ive ever had. And the charger charges pretty quick as well. Although its been rare when I first charged it it took about 2 hours. But I mainly use my laptop while connected to my TV and plugged in its nice to know Ive got that strong battery life to keep me going when I go portable. So in conclusion I am very happy with this laptop. It outdoes my previous Acer in every way and I love that one as well. And if it lasts as long as the other one Ill have this as my main laptop/ PC for many years to come. Highly recommended for anyone that wants a solid Windows 11 laptop that will last for a long time to come.

    Very slow. Not much use beyond basic web browsing, and it struggled at that. Returned in less than 3 hours after purchase.

    This is probably one of the best budget laptop you can find with a touchscreen! Acer has always been known for kind of making good budget and mid-level computers. This laptop is no different. Out of the box you can kind of tell that its not as solid as something like a laptop that’s in the $1000+ range. You can tell the plastic is a little cheaper and it feels a little lighter. But, if you can get past that, what’s inside this laptop is actually pretty good for your day to day computing needs. It comes with the latest Windows 11 operating system running on a Ryzen 5 7520U processor with 8GB of ram. So its definitely not a gaming laptop, but this would be perfect for a student looking for something cheap that they can take to class and to do lots of your everyday tasks on. The screen is only 1080P run by a AMD Radeon graphics card. Again, another corner cut to keep this laptop in the sub $500 price range. What you probably wouldn’t expect on a laptop of this price is a 512GB SSD and a touchscreen! That’s right….a touchscreen! Even I have to say I missed this spec when I bought this laptop and was pretty shocked when I touched the screen and something happened. I found the screen to be very responsive and worked perfectly. The only drawback is that this laptop doesn’t fold all the way backwards, so you can’t use it like a tablet. But still, just having that touchscreen is a huge benefit! The 512GB SSD easily holds the OS with plenty of space left to hold all your data, pictures, video, and music files. There is no MicroSD card slot, so adding extra storage wont be an option unless you use an external USB hard drive. As far as the ports go you have 2 regular USB ports, 1 USBC port, a full-size HDMI Port and a headphone jack. So, not a ton of ports, but should be fine for most people. As far as performance goes, this thing worked like a champ. Easily browsing websites, watching YouTube videos and Netflix. I used the office suite of Word, PowerPoint and things like that and they ran quickly and with ease. I even loaded up Photoshop and had no problem editing photos in there as well (the touchscreen also worked great for that) I also loaded up Adobe Premiere and tried some video editing. You are limited by the 1080p screen, but it was workable. One other minor thing I didn’t like is that the keyboard isn’t backlit, but I was still able to see the lettering on the keys even in a dim lit room. So not a deal breaker, but just another way they cut costs. Overall, this is a very solid budget to mid-level laptop. It has a good-sized screen and enough power to do all of your day-to-day tasks. Its not a gaming rig or a high-end video editing rig, but that’s not what its trying to be. If you are a student with not a lot of cash or a parent looking to get your child something for high school this is a great option. It won’t break the bank and will get the job done!
