Excellent well-rounded laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This really is a nice laptop. It feels nice in the hand, nice and lightweight, and solid plastic case that doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. This was actually grouped with a bunch of Chromebooks, but is a full-featured Windows 11 laptop. So, I think Acer intends for this to compete with that class of computer, but it brings much more to the table than a Chromebook laptop could, and not just because it comes with Windows. The Ryzen 5 CPU really brings its A game, and I've never had an issue with slowdowns or hiccups, or wishing I had more power. The Radeon graphics are "integrated", meaning the graphics processor is part of the CPU, which normally means sacrificed performance. I was even able to play some modern games. For example, Ori and the Blind Forest played at roughly 45fps. Not too shabby. No major issues with heat, it has a cooling system that is better than most top-end laptops. Meaning this laptop won't slow down over heavy workloads or in hot environments. A problem I have with my Company-issued laptop. The screen is nice and bright; not work in direct sunlight bright, but if you decide to work out on the back deck, you should be good to go. The matte finish is nice, and unexpected for a touch-screen laptop. Usually you find touchscreen only on glass/glossy screens. But the screen is very responsive, sharp, and has good colors. Really no complaints here. It comes with 16gb of RAM, which is pretty standard, but lots of apps open or many websites open might cause you to notice some lag switching between apps or websites. But again, this is pretty standard on most laptops. It comes with a nice cloth padded carry case. The case has no handles or loops for a shoulder strap, so seems intended to be tossed in a backpack or other carry bag. But this will ensure the laptop stays safe from being banged up while in transit. It has a large sidepocket which is good for the power adapter and other accessories such as a small keyboard and/or a mouse. It has a full-feature USB-C port, meaning it can be charged using that port, and it can also be used for external displays (even though it also has a dedicated HDMI port), or any other USB-C accessory. This is a really nice addition, that is really what USB-C has been intended for. And it's nice Acer ships this with a standard charging cable, so the USB-C port can be saved for other uses besides being held captive by a charger. Really, I have little to no complaints about this laptop.

A solid and portable workstation at a great price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Acer Aspire 3 is a solid choice for anyone in need of a reliable and responsive device that can handle various tasks without breaking the bank. The laptop has a highly responsive touchscreen, which makes navigating and accessing files a breeze. I found this feature to be useful when working on presentations and projects that required a more interactive approach. The laptop's USB-C port allows for quick and easy connections to various devices. I personally connected this laptop to my monitor via USB-C-to-C cable which allowed me to extend my display to a much larger screen while also charging the laptop simultaneously through the same cable. This helped free up some cable clutter on my desk. The 2x USB-A ports are nice to have and give flexibility to add additional peripherals as well. Having these available for an external mouse and keyboard was very welcomed. Another great feature of the Acer Aspire 3 is its lightweight design which makes it highly portable. I was able to travel with the laptop to work on my online programming class remotely without feeling weighed down. In addition to work, this laptop was also good for play as well. At 8GB of RAM, it was powerful enough to run Pro Tools with various plugins for recording music without maxing out, which I was pleasantly surprised about. The included soft case is well-padded and has a zippered side-pocket for accessories. The only slight downside to this laptop is the clicking touchpad, which requires a decent amount of force to use. However, this is more of a personal preference that can be easily circumvented by utilizing a mouse. Overall, I was impressed at how much was packed into a laptop at this price point and would recommend it to people looking for a laptop that can function as an everyday workhorse.

Nice product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice little laptop! I bought this for college, but, even as a programmer, I have found this laptop to be great for my daily tasks, the touchscreen is pretty useful, and, overall I've been very satisfied with the laptop's performance. I do, however, have two gripes, for one: the battery life is a little disappointing, and, when I opened it up to upgrade the SSD, I was disappointed to find the 8GB of RAM to be non-upgradeable. So, so long as you can charge it frequently, and don't need more than the included RAM, this little machine will do you right.

Amazing cheap computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this laptop for college and it works amazing. I got it to do basic functions, but ended up downloading things like photoshop, clip studio paint, and a few games that can make even my desktop computer run slow. Its amazing for casual use and for school work. I really recommend it for the price you definitely get a bang for you buck.

A capable no-nonsense laptop!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Acer Aspire 3 is a well-priced laptop with all the features most would be looking for in a laptop. Perfect for students looking for a laptop for school or a work/office laptop. With the Ryzen 5 and 8GB of RAM, this is more than capable to run Office applications, browse the web, watch videos etc. What it’s not good for would be power hungry photo/video editing applications or intense gaming. Physically, the Aspire 3 is on the large side (14” wide x 9.5” deep), it doesn’t feel heavy (a bit under 4lbs). Still, I wouldn’t want to commute with it. The entire laptop is constructed from plastic, and while this keeps the weight down, it also won’t win any beauty competitions. The Aspire features a large 15.6” IPS touch screen, 512GB SSD drive, built in camera, HDMI, USB-C and USB connections. The keyboard also features a number pad on the side, something you don’t see often, although the keys are a bit smaller. Overall, the Aspire 3 is an excellent, no-nonsense, practical laptop. Perfect for someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot for a laptop.
