I've owned 6 different laptops over the course of 15 years. Acer, Lenovo, and Asus. Out of those, this laptop is by far the best. The others tended to last 1-2 years, but this guy lasted almost 5! It's the only laptop I've ever had with a 360degree hinge, which was really cool. It's too heavy to really be used as a tablet, but the novelty of it is something I miss. I really liked the tent mode though. This work horse took me though my last two years of university and almost 3 years of a work from home job after that. The only reason I had to give it up is that it became unusably slow. Like, 10 minutes to start up and another 7 to load up a web browser. I'm not a tech person, but I'd guess it's the hard drive or RAM maybe? Either way, it wasn't feasible to keep using it when my job is work from home. I still have this guy, and out of the 2 newest laptops I've owned, and plenty of research into others, I still haven't found a good replacement for it yet. If I get the chance, I'll gladly have it repaired so that I can start using it again. The screen was crisp and colorful, the keyboard was comfortable, and it felt like a high end laptop with the metal shell/lid. The only downsides that I can remember are the fact that it got hot right where you place your palms while typing, so it makes your hands sweaty, the HDD is slower than an SSD, and it was heavy for it's size. Those are the only things I would change about it. That's literally it. I miss it quite a bit, and every time one of my other, newer laptops gave me trouble I always think back on this guy fondly. I wish Acer would make a new series like this one, but none of their newer models match up in my opinion. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone, anywhere, anytime!!!

Battery died within two years. It was good before that. Kept beeping constantly and saying critical battery before it died. Very disappointed.

It is still a bit slow for me, but all in all I am happy

Let me start off by saying that I normally use mid to high end gaming laptops with quad core processors and SSD drives. That being said, this laptop is a solid performer. The startup is acceptable, and loads quickly enough into Windows. Not too much bloatware, just a handful of programs, and a couple are actually useful. I was impressed by the screen. It has an excellent picture and great color, and can be viewed at almost any angle without losing quality. I barely use the touch screen, but when I tried it, it was very responsive. The back-lit keyboard is a huge plus. I won't buy another laptop without this feature. My daughter used it to play some games like Terraria, Minecraft, and Castle Crashers, and this laptop handled them with ease with high setting @ 720p, but I don't see this machine being able to handle titles like COD, or Battlefield, even at low settings. The shell of this laptop is fingerprint friendly, meaning, they don't show up, a nice plus. On top of all this, it's very lightweight. One thing I noticed, and didn't care for was when Windows was downloading updates, the laptop was noticeably laggy. It took considerably longer to open programs, browsers and load pages. I have 150 Extreme internet from Xfinity, so I'm pretty sure it's not my internet. I think this is due to being only a dual core processor. Overall, I'm impressed with this laptop, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid non gaming laptop with touch screen ability.

At first it didn't connect to the wifi but I figured it out and it makes a lot more noise then it should.

The laptop is decent but I thought it would be faster having the I5 processor in it. Lacks VGA or CAT5 peripherals which are limiting in its usage.
