there is no display port although the writeup says there is. The left side has a USB type Aand a USB C (used for power) and a standard 1/8" headphone jack. The right side is the same but without the headphone jack but does have the security jack.

This is the second Chromebook I have owned. My solid review point is that for anyone looking for an internet enable computing laptop that performs like a high end computer with a ton of features. This is the right device for you. Out of the box, the device runs Chrome OS and works like a trumped up Android phone or tablet. The Acer Chromebook 315 is geared out with entry level specifications but again performs exceedingly well. The unit has a wonderful 15.6 inch display with an Intel UHD Graphics 600 controller. With entry level specs, I am quite impressed with how beautiful the screen display is for a touch screen. Vibrant colors are magnificently illuminated, and darks are true. Because of the large screen display, the keyboard is a full keyboard with the inclusion of a ten-key. The model 315 I have has 64GB of flash memory. So far, during testing, this has been more than adequate to perform and operate at an optimal performance level. Please note that with 4GB internal and the 64GB, this unit was never meant to be a gaming unit. That said, I was able to download some, and they streamed or played excellently. The download capabilities are perfectly in line with current industry standards, running a Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) as well as Gigabit Wi-Fi (2x2 802.11ac 160 MHz). The Acer Chromebook 315 has two USB and two USB type-C ports. It does lack any HDMI ports but offers two solutions. You can Chromecast to almost any Chrome capable device or grab an adapter. We like to carry our Chromebook on trips and use it on our Hotel TVs. My overall impression is that this Acer Chromebook 315 (CB315-3HT) is a viable choice for any potential purchaser. The Acer performs smoothly on its Intel Celeron N4020 dual-core processor. The unit is lightweight at just over three and a half pounds and has amazing battery life.

      Dear GraceH,
Chromebooks are different from Windows laptop products in that they are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and documents living in the cloud. Because of this they don’t have much for on board storage but they also are not expensive either. Chromebooks run off apps like an Android phone or tablet so you cannot download and install applications or .exe files. If you need to use third party software applications that must be installed on the computer, a Chromebook is likely not for you, where a Windows laptop would suit you better.
If you should need assistance with an Acer product in the future, please contact our support team at 1-866-695-2237, chat or social media, and we will be glad to help.

We appreciate you taking the time to write this review.

Good, old cpu, no MSD slot and so weak 4 stars.

First my overall rating is weak 4 stars, but due to use of older cpu/graphics chip which is showing signs of being simply outdated for the new apps and software to function smoothly. Worst is the lack of inclusion of a dedicated micro SD slot. Not sure given the limited included standard memory why a dedicated micro SD slot is not included. The upside is you do have 3 solid usb slots, two are usb-c and can charge the laptop. The included usb c charger is 45 watts and does a quick job of recharging the laptop hd last a long cord so easy to plug in and still have flexible length to be plugged in and move around for comfort sitting distance from the outlet. Wifi 5 is rock solid and the Bluetooth is just as solid. The unit is fairly light less than 3.5lbs given the screen size. The keyboard is easy to use with nice tactile feedback, surprisingly. The screen is matte to reduce reflection but not as bright as you would like and colors are muted I think due to the matte screen but reflections are low so that is a plus. My main issue is the cou/graphics chip should be a more recent chip given the just under $300 price point. If you get this under $220 then yes grab it. I do like the included laptop sleep with storage pocket for your charger and smaller items. Great student laptop and the Google OS is buttery smooth.

These computers suck and are a waste of money. Can't upgrade, can't handle running Spotify and Excel at the same time (I use it for hosting trivia shows) lagging excessively. I'm not one to leave reviews at all honestly but I was shocked at how useless this was.

Incredibly slow when compared to the former Acer Intel i3 processor/4 gb RAM/128 SSD. Start up is very sluggish. Web pages load much slower than the former Chromebook. Lesson learned on downgrading to a slower processor.

I bought this Chromebook a month. Very poor battery compared to my previous Lenovo Chromebook. Battery not even lasting for 3 hours after a full charge. It was supposed to be good for 10+ hours after a full charge. My bad I missed the returnable window.

      Dear Vijay,
We are sorry to hear this. You say the battery doesn't last more than 3 hours but you don't mention what tasks you are doing. This Chromebook should get around 10 hours battery time but this can decrease depending on what you are doing, ie: internet browsing versus streaming video, etc. Three hours seems rather short and we want to work with you to see how we can help improve this experience. If you will please call 1-866-690-4549 and reference your review, we can help address any problems you may be experiencing.

After just getting past the windows setup screen I could tell how terrible the light bleed and uniformity was on this Chromebook. It also feel really cheap. I cannot speak to the other specs and features since as son as I could tell I would not tolerate the display alone I restored it to factory settings and returned it.

      Dear Karen,
There could be several reasons for this, namely apps or extensions running in the background that are using alot of power, or using extensions that are not needed, etc. Also you can move files to the cloud or USB storage as well. Once you clean up the Chromebook you can powerwash it to restore to factory settings which usually takes care of issues like this. If you need help with this please feel free to contact Acer support at 866-695-2237. They are available 24/7 for in-warranty products.
