I really wanted this to work, because on paper, this is a GREAT machine, and I really want to like Acer products. Unfortunately, for the THIRD time, I got burned by an Acer product. First it was the Chromebook Spin 713 in 2020. The touchscreen stopped working (would no longer respond to touch) a year and a half later. Next was the Spin 714 (2023 model). The motherboard died a year later. Finally, we have this model--the 2024 model. I purchased this one in June 2025. The webcam has stopped working and I had to send it to TX for a warranty repair. I really wanted this to work, because this is actually a great machine. Seems well made, solid, great screen, super fast. But apparently Acer products are not made well, or have quality control issues, because this is the third Acer Chromebook I have owned that died in some way prematurely. MORAL OF THE STORY: I would avoid Acer products in the future. They are not the high-quality products they appear to be.

I've had my new Acer Spin 714 for over a month now and it's been nothing short of perfect. The most impressive surprise is how quick it recharges and holds a charge.

Reliable SSD Chromebook

We had a similar device earlier with emmc storage and the storage failed after about 1 year. This SSD based device is more reliable

That’s a plus not having that notification pop up. Retired my old iPad with this purchase being it’s a 2in1. Only issue is seems to crash and reboot randomly after opening. I’m pretty sure this will get resolved after a couple updates.

I keep hoping Google Chrome OS catches up to Windows but it's still just so far behind. This is a really beautiful laptop so if you are into Chrome OS I would without a doubt by it. There were too many limitations for me to use it for work. Like I say, I do hope Chrome OS eventually catches up it surpasses Windows. I think that will be a good thing.
