The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 Laptop is a great Chromebook that’s fast and powerful. It comes with a 14" WUXGA Touch Display , Intel Core Ultra 5 115U with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM , a 256GB SSD, and Wi-Fi 6E. At times I forget that I’m using a Chromebook because it feels like I’m on a high end Windows device. The device comes in a nice stealth gray color that shows no fingerprints on the cover, trackpad, and inside cover. By now showing fingerprints it keeps the device looking good at all times. When browsing the web the pages load very fast with little to no delay. The trackpad is very responsive and works well with no issues. The keyboard has good key travel and is easy to type on and keys have a backlight function. I’m not sure if the backlighting can be adjusted because there no shortcut keys to adjust and I have not found a way to adjust it in the settings. The device has a 360 degree hinge which allows it to go from all the way closed to being able to flip on the opposite side. The screen will convert to tablet mode when the screen is past the halfway mark. The keyboard will then become unresponsive so that you won’t have any inadvertent keyboard presses while it’s used in this mode. The touchscreen display is responsive to touch input and the graphics and quality look great. The one downside to this device are the speakers. The speakers are located on each side of the keyboard. I assumed they would sound great, but they sound very mediocre. The speakers can get quite loud but they have little no bass. They sound like really cheap speakers. The device is not silent when it’s pushed to its limit. The fans will come on because of the Intel chip inside. For most tasks the fan is fairly quiet. Other than that, I haven’t found much to complain about. Overall, this is a good Chromebook device which I hope to get years of use from it.

Although I have used other Chromebooks, this is my first exposure to a premium Chromebook. It is a Chromebook Plus, which means that it meets or exceeds minimum standards set by Google. In this case, that means an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, designed for AI; 8 gig of RAM and a 256 gig SSD storage device. The high level specs, combined with a 10 year update path, ensure that the laptop is future proofed for a long time. The WUXGA touch screen display provides a sharp image with bright colors. Streaming videos is outstanding with a clear, sharp image and no pauses or stuttering. The aluminum chassis and outstanding build quality ensure a durable laptop with no chassis flex. As a 2 in 1 device, the laptop switches easily from laptop to a 14" tablet; or in an intermediate setting, makes it ideal for media consumption. Although the price is towards the upper end for a Chromebook, the performance is excellent with smooth operation and snappy response. Android users will find that it works seamlessly with your other Android devices. The laptop includes the Google Gemini app, which expands on the artificial intelligence capabilities of the Chrome operating system. Although I have played with it a little bit, I have only scratched the surface of its capabilities and I'm confident that Google will continue to expand on them as it develops the app. Adding value to the laptop, it came with a padded carry sleeve, which should provide added protection for travel. With its performance and flexibility, I expect that this will be my go to laptop for a long time.

I use my Chromebook every single day and love it! It's faster than my Windows laptop and so far, no issues with bugs or security. Graphics are good and it's just the right size to sit on my lap without feeling heavy or bulky, yet big enough to clearly see smaller print on the screen. The only down side is Google. The search engine is so politically bias and filters out actual articles and news, that it's ridiculous. However, you can go to other sites directly to get the "real" news. I hate supporting a company that censors, but there's no real competition for this as of now. So if you can get past that, it's a good supplement to a full-scale Windows or Apple computer.

I purchased a couple of Chromebook devices from Best Buy, and I’m extremely pleased with them. The setup was simple, the performance is smooth, and the battery life is impressive. My kids absolutely love using them for schoolwork and play—they’re fast, lightweight, and very kid-friendly. Great value for the price. Highly recommend for families!

I really liked my pixel book. Eight years old it limped so bad it barely worked. This Asus is a better than adequate replacement. I recommend to all my Chromebook plus using friends

Fantastic machine but the restart bug plaguing it and many others like it really kills it for me. Upon coming out of sleep the unit resets. Unfortunately it will be a return for me.
