I have had a really great experience with BB in the past. Having said this just received my new Acer spin 714----played with for 3-31/2 hours and found several disturbing issues. Monitor flickers as I open my flat screen monitor with HDMI. when I press youtube icon an entirely new page opens, when try to view something on this new page it works for 2-3 seconds and stops. I can open youtube using google-----but what the hey. something with gmail----entirely new page opens rather than gmail opening and a new tab opens at top to screen wanted another 713----BB said it was running clearance but did not have any 713 to sell. I paid $830 for the 714----had to pay UPS $239 to ship to Mexico and then another $250 for import duty. In for $1350 for a computer that is a very poor substitute for the 713. BB offers to refund $$$ or give me new 714 and pay shipping leaving me with a $500 fee for UPS and custom duties. Then offered to have me pay the geek squad a fee for trying to help fix a crappy new computer. Overall, I feel BB should pull this product until Acer fixes all problems. Reviews across board are horrible.

Solid device, perfect for my daughter's new school year.

I am a college student with all online courses this semester. This laptop has been perfect all around for my needs. Starting with the charge. I can go days without having to charge. At most maybe three days, then I'm looking for the charger. I had no problems downloading or finding the programs I needed. My information was easily sync from my phone. When I added my school email i was restricted as if it was a device that belonged to them so I needed to start over since that prevented me from having access to most of the normal functions. I love having the simple slide to cover the camera although I will need it unblocked during testing. When I open the laptop it quickly lights up and restores the tab that I was working with. It works with the same charger I use with my phone. I rarely use it as a tablet because I prefer the keyboard but love having the option. The stylus has a very easy spot that is stored and not in the way. It's lightweight and easy to carry around. There is only one usb port but that works for me since I wont be using anything more than a mouse and I prefer the digital storage as a backup.

Chromebooks are good. This one is junk. Crackling speaker everytime you go to a site or app. Will not charge. Holds 1% charge, only works when pulled in. Display is worthless during the day. Great display at night. Would be worth $400 if the battery worked.

I loved the Acer Spin 714 chromebook for the first two days and then started experiencing Bluetooth issues which are a known issue from Acer which they have not addressed, which powers off bluetooth and all its devices and does not come back online! You either need to reboot the laptop or keep turning off and on BT to try and recover it to come online and ended up having to return it and get the Acer 516 GE gaming edition laptop which is amazing and does not have any issues so far after 3 weeks and highly recommend for cloud gaming both Xbox and Nuvida GeForce Now work great!

This Acer Chromebook Spin 714 is hands down the best Chromebook I've ever had the pleasure to use. Yes, you can find larger, more powerful Chromebooks, and if that's something you need or desire - great. However, this Spin 714 is likely going to check all the boxes for the vast majority of users. The cherry on top is the incredible price point and value. You most definitely get far more bang for your buck than you do with any other Chromebook out there. Aesthetically, this is one BEAUTIFUL device. Well designed with gorgeous coloring and a sleek, modern form factor. You almost want to show this thing off, it's that pleasing to the eye. The build quality is premium and solid with no give or play. Hinges hold the screen perfectly at any angle with no flex or movement. I have no worries about throwing this into my backpack and heading off to class. Let's talk about performance. I am easily getting almost two days of life with multiple hours of use each day. Charging is quick, easily extending portable use time with minimal on-charge time. Apps open quickly. The touchscreen is accurate and responsive. The included stylus, which is housed nicely into the Chromebook itself, is easy to use. It's a tad smaller than I'd prefer, however from a functional standpoint it works perfectly. The screen folds into any angle, including flat to the opposite side which allows for use in tablet mode. The ability to bend to any angle, coupled with the beautiful screen resolution and speakers make this fantastic for consuming video content. Tablet mode is great for taking notes in class and drawing. Whether in tablet or laptop mode, each function flawlessly. Students, teachers, home users - everyone will find the Spin 714 is a fantastic Chromebook that is easy to use and versatile. There are enough ports to satisfy the average user. 1 USB-A, 2 USB-C, HDMI, and a headphone jack. Nothing too much to write home about here. Excellent battery life, fast charging, beautiful design, solid build quality, versatility, included stylus, fantastic screen, and endless viewing angles. Seriously, what's not to like? I would highly recommend the Acer Spin 714 to anyone. This is really a fantastic Chromebook!

This is a really great option when it comes to Chromebooks. I really appreciate the i5 EVO class processor and it crushes everything you can throw at it. I could not slow this laptop down. The build quality is on par to other premium Chromebooks however I will point that there are no magnets behind the screen to hold the screen securely to the back of the laptop while in tablet mode like I've seen on other premium Chromebooks. This is an unfortunate oversight and is missed as it taints the user experience a bit - not enough to deduct a star in the rating though. This is a five star Chromebook for sure. This Chromebook will charge via USB C with either the supplied adapter or a USB C cable and AC power adapter of your choice. The included stylus is a huge bonus for document signing or on-the-fly graphic design. Its small and I really like that it nests inside the laptop too. Huge design points to Acer for that. Bottom line is this is one of the best Chromebook options out there and with Google cancelling their branded Chromebooks, Acer is poised to take the lead if they keep making quality like this.

Flip mode does not work, laptop struggles to understand it’s hinge orientation and constantly switch from laptop to tablet mode and either locks the keyboard or screen or both rendering unusable. Do not buy

After one month, it won't charge anymore. Best Buy told me I have to go through the Acer warranty. I have been trying to contact them with zero response. Very disappointed in the experience and essentially waste of a purchase.

I am loving this Chromebook! It is almost perfect. It is super sleek, and performs extremely well. Right out of the box, you will notice that this Chromebook includes a type C charger and a USB mouse. The Chromebook itself is a very good size at 14" on the display. They keyboard is very nice and has a nice feel while you are typing. I am using it right now to write this review. It does not have a numeric keypad, but that is common for a 14" notebook. The touch pad is very responsive and very smooth. It does not get in the way while typing. The display is excellent. It is a high resolution and everything looks very sharp and crisp. The videos I watch on it are high definition and I have zero issues with it. The sound however does not get very loud or very dynamic. I know that it is not supposed to be booming or high end audio, I just feel that it does not get very loud at full volume. The performance of this Chromebook is superb. When you turn it on, it instantly boots up as there are no moving parts and everything is solid state. The processor on this makes the experience smooth and almost no lag on anything. Everything loads and pops up very quick, which is very helpful when you are completing tasks, such as school work. I was able to do my homework with zero issues and I actually felt more productive than when I use my powerful gaming laptop. This was meant for students. This Chromebook also includes a mouse. The mouse requires an included USB dongle, which I felt was strange. If Acer included a mouse, it should have been paired to the Chromebook by default, whether by Bluetooth or a built in receiver. The mouse is good and sturdy and works well. My only issue is the scroll wheel is solid rubber and feels strange when you use it. It is not a ribbed or textured wheel like on most mice. The battery life is outstanding on this Chromebook and it lasts me several days of normal use without needing a charge. I keep my display at a reasonable brightness, not full blast. I conduct normal web browsing and do my homework on it without worrying about my battery life. I have had no issues. I also love the camera on this Chromebook as it behaves like a cell phone camera. You can also snap pictures on it with a touch screen shutter. The only thing is that the resolution is not so great. It suffices, but it is not very sharp and could have used a bit higher of a resolution. Overall, I would highly recommend this Chromebook for every day use, but especially school use. It allows you to run all of your Google docs extremely fast with the i5 processor. All of the hardware functions as it should with no issues. It folds backwards as a convertible and will behave as a tablet. There are too many positives not to strongly consider this Chromebook.

I just got this Chromebook for my brother for his birthday. This is a fantastic laptop! With the new 12th gen Intel EVO core 10 hours battery life with a quick charge battery function, it gets him through his whole day using it. The true SSD storage is fast and the USI stylus is great. No problem with the trackpad at all. And best of all he just got one of the new WIFI 6E routers and he has fiber at his house and he says on wifi is soars because it has WIFI 6E. The Mac computers don't even have WIFI 6E yet on their computers.

This chromebook is just what I needed, I am however disappointed with the quality of the speakers. My previous chromebook was a Pixel Slate and even the speakers on that model were way better
