Good battery life, nice screen colors etc.........

This is a pretty decent tablet for the price. I bought two.

I bought this to replace my 2012 nexus 7... So far no problems related to the tablet itself... good screen, fast chipset..... my only beef is that you can't move apps to the SD card.. but thats an android problem( waiting for 5.0 update) And considering all the bloatware pre installed on the tablet... 9 gigs outta 16 is a problem

Very poor device. I have a a1-840 that works great, can use it all day with it plugged in without any problems. But this a1-850 even with it plugged in still discharges even using the most simplest of apps. The sales rep. at bestbuy told me this model was an upgrade to the previous one, I though to myself " great i love the 840 this one must be a good buy as well". Oh was I wrong. Not only the charging issues, there is no "upgrade" on this device. They pulled the hdmi out port, stripped the vibration feature, and reduced that amount of current it is able to draw. The charging issue is my biggest problem with this device though. I have tried multiple chargers and cables, including the ones that came with my 840 witch is a 2 amp charger. The charger that comes with this device is a 1.35 amp, and apparently it is only capable of drawing that amount of current as well, as I have tried it on a 2 amp, 2.1 amp, and a 2.4 amp charger all with the same results. In summary, I would steer clear of this device and always check the input current on the back of the box for tablets and make sure it is capable of a min of 2 amp current.

I provided a great review for this product a couple of days after purchasing it (60 days ago!). Everything matched up to what I was expecting from my purchase and more. 60 days later and it will no longer start - at all.... nothing! - I guess I will have to experience the Acer Support adventure from this point forward and will update the review as it unfolds, including response times, customer service and eventually re-supply - if they can't fix it. They advise to scrub personally identifiable files & apps before returning - hard to do if it won't even start! 60 days is not a life expectancy I would deem as "reasonable" from a big-brand such as "Acer"! Hope their customer service and loyalty is better than what their products appear to be...

We are so happy with this tablet.It works good, the volume is so clear comparred to my daughters last tablet, I wont say who but we had to get it replaced 4 times faulty charger connection. This one also has double the gigabites. Screen is much clearer too.

Overall slow, thick and heavy. Specs sound great but my older tablets run circles around this thing and the GPS is not that good. Also why is the charging port on top? Feels like a older cheap low end Chinese knock off. On paper every thing sounds good returned it quickly and paid a few bucks more for a better tablet. I guess if you have very low expectations then buy it, but there are much better designed tablets in this price range.

I bought this for my daughter to use at home. It is still going strong and she hasn't not been able to play something she wanted to as of yet. Good buy!

Tablet battery goes to zero while in use and PLUGGED IN. If the tablet is plugged in while being used, it should be able to maintain some battery. This one cannot. Bought 4 of these for grand babies; all of them go to zero while the boys are playing on them even though they are plugged in. All 4 going back.

It powered itself off after 30 minutes or so! My Acer Iconia A1-840 did the same thing but a hard reset always worked and it would power on. That "trick" hasn't worked on this one though. Acer technical support said it's a hardware issue- bad battery. She tried telling me that the battery went bad because it had been sitting in a box for 3 months since it came out in February 2015. I couldn't help but laugh at that excuse.

I've had this tablet for 1 WEEK and it has crashed numerous times. I've had to do every reset possible listed on ACER's manual, including the system wipe/total reset. The display shut off entirely before (reason for reset), now it flickers like a strobe light on the top half of the screen, and black on bottom half. I understand it's a "bargain" tablet, but it should still work. I'll be returning it tomorrow, save your time and money for a better option!

I'm an android developer and needed a 7 inch tablet to test on. I went with the acer iconia 8. Great price, OS level I needed. Originally loved it, was even going to tell my wife what a great product it was. After 3 days of pretty reasonable use, it no longer charges. It was plugged in all night and zero charge this morning. Too bad, I really liked the device but will have to return.

This tablet was a very bad purchase for me. There are apps that I use every day on my phone that just flat out won't work on the tablet. And the ones that do work crash constantly. I haven't even had the tablet for a month and the battery has already gone out on it. I'm not even going to bother trying to get it fixed.

Tablet doesn't turn on. Only turns on when it wants to.

Got this for my son, had trouble with it working when tapping on the screen , didn't work and the screen cracked, not worth the price, now I have to find another Tablet , sigh. Only had this one 2 months and the warranty doesn't cover a cracked screen.
