Good tablet, but bad charging port

This tablet was purchased for my 5 year old. When we first got it, it was great. Fast, good camera, good screen resolution. But, a month before the warranty ended the charging port broke. I was thinking, we got lucky because it was still under warranty and to fix it would've been 65 to 75 dollars. It is an off brand tablet so the parts are hard to come by. After we sent it back and got it fixed it was back to normal. Great tablet. One month after the warranty ended the charging port broke again. Well, it's time to get a new tablet. The only bad thing I can say about the tablet is the charging port. It might have been just my tablet, but then again I don't know. Good luck.

    Perfect tablet for great price

I wanted something that was more kin to a mini-computer than the Kindle Fire HD my wife uses so I chose this Acer tablet. Nice slim, light weight fit. Screen is clear and bright. Lots of features just like a computer. I'm not a game player so I can't comment on those types of apps but the first thing I did was copy my entire iTunes library over to the Acer and now I use it as a music-player when driving. (A refurbished iPod Nano was $150 compared to this $99 tablet!) I've used it for email, browsing the internet, YouTube videos and music-player so far and have had no problems. Thinking of buying a second one for my wife.

    Great Tab after GPS Fix

I signed up to write this review in the hopes it will help others who noticed the GPS doesn't work. While it may work out of the box (I'm not sure, I didn't test it), it was not working after the system update Acer pushes. Maps, Weather, Tinder ... nothing could get a fix on my location even though Location Services were set to Device-Only mode (GPS). The trick to fix it is to clear the AGPS. The easiest way to do it is to download the free GPS Test app from the play store, then in the top right hamburger menu (3 vertical dots), select CLEAR AGPS. This resolved the issue and GPS started working perfectly. :) I hope this helps someone, I was about to take mine back. This is an EXCELLENT tablet for the money, and I'm very picky on technology. It works extremely well.

This tablet is amazing, runs smoothly, downloads apps and internet pages fast without any fuss and hiccups. Resolution is great. I can't believe it is so good.. It's worth every penny!! I have downloaded a couple dozens of educational and other games for my toddlers to play, and this device is compatible with All of them, unlike an older tablet(different brand) that I have. It is definitely a great buy!

    Over all Good Value

Needed to replace an 8GB tablet because the micro USB charge port failed. Was looking to upgrade to at least Android 5.0 and 16GB. At $99.99 I was happy with this model. Performance is decent and wifi reception is very good. One tip, try to avoid live wallpapers, they literally slowed this tablet to a crawl. Has GPS but I was a little bummed that there is no internal compass so apps like Star Tracker are not compatible.

Slow and buggy. You get what you pay for.

Tablet is extremely slow to respond to input, freezes while using various apps, and runs out of power quickly. While surfing the internet, the device is slow to navigate between pages and tends to freeze, preventing you from opening another page or closing out the browser. The on-screen keyboard response is hit or miss, sometimes working well, other times being unresponsive. The tablet takes a long time to recharge via AC power and burns through the battery quickly. A cheap tablet that performs poorly.

    Pretty good!

It isn't the best tablet you'll ever use, but it is perfect for streaming, web surfing, and reading. The touch screen isn't very sensitive, so you really need to press sometimes or tap the screen a few times. It also does not multitask very well. Open a few apps and the tablet will really slow up. It's completely frozen once or twice. However, for $130, it isn't terrible and is running Android Lollipop. No idea if it will get the Marshmallow update though.

    Disappointing

Tablet was disappointing, sluggish, ran hot, froze and stalled repeatedly. Defective? I don't know, but it was much slower than my old tablet, strange for a quad core Intel processor. Will probably return if I can't get it to work better.

Some of the reviews were mixed, so I decided to give it a try. I charged this right out of the box, and then tried to set it up. It was really slow.... took a while to type the letters in, and then froze a few times. I also tried to use a case keyboard. Same problem. I didn't want to invest a lot, because I just needed it for 1 program at school. I returned it

Screen shows many white lines after 6 months

Initially I really liked this tablet, not too slow, all simple games/apps worked fine. However, after about using it for 6 months the screen started to show many fine white lines on the screen. Not sure if only mine was a bad one others are also experiencing similar issue. Not worth $100 for 6 months of medium usage.

Seemed pretty good the first few weeks. Now it is slow and hangs up. I touch the screen and nothing happens for a while when I first boot up. I don't like the Facebook app - screen seems to go all over the place.

Always heard good things about Acer. Bought this for my daughter to replace her Samsung Tab 3. Price isn't bad. Tablet freezes all the time. Google Chrome crashes. Touch screen is horrible by this I mean it's way to sensitive. When charging the battery gets super hot. Taking back. Daughter has more fun on her broken Samsung.

Bought this at Best Buy around Nov 20th.. This thing BITES! I have never seen a tablet with this much lag time.. just about every time I use it I need to close everything that"s running (one app or five) It don't care.. sometimes I even need to do a restart just to get it moving again.. And here' the kicker.. I don't play games.. I only added Facebook, Netflix pandora and email. Save your cash.. This thing bites at ANY price.

I purchased this piece of junk for my wife as a Mother's Day gift. I videoed an "interview" with my two sons as part of the specialness. The first time the battery died, it decided it would not like to charge back up. So not only do I have to waste time and effort to get a refund, I lost the most special part of her gift as well. If I could rate this product zreo stars, I would. I am livid and kicking myself for not heeding the other negative reviews I read. Spend your money elsewhere.
