The monitor itself looks super crisp and makes my game look really smooth but I just wish it had speakers that’s the only downfall of this and that’s why I give it a 4/5 star but the monitor itself is amazing. It was great investment that I made for gaming

Affordable Entry Level Monitor for New PC Users

Acer has made PC monitors for a very long time and recently started making higher-end Gaming panels and even entire pre-built PCs. This monitor certainly isn't high-end, but his has the same DNA that has helped Acer become a bigger player over time. I remember Acer was actually one of the first panel makers that made 3D Vision monitors for Nvidia, so that high-refresh rate pedigree is undeniable. This model is aimed at entry-level gamers at 1080p and 27" and 200Hz refresh rate. While 1080p is not very demanding and works well with entry-level graphics card, especially with DLSS technology, the 200Hz allows for high refresh rate gaming which can make use of the extra power of midrange graphics cards. Pair this up with a 3060/4060/5060, 6600/7600/9600 or better and you're in good shape. If you go up higher than this you can use the higher refresh rates or turn up the game settings, it all depends on the game. This panel also supports Variable refresh rate which eliminates screen tearing without having to enable Vsync. While it is certified AMD FreeSync Premium this will also work with Nvidia G-Sync compatible mode. The display has 3 inputs, 2xHDMI 2.0 and 1xDP 1.2 which is more than enough to support the 1080p/200Hz resolution/refresh rate. The panel is large and bright, and at 27" it is nice and big so your young ones won't strain their eyes or your wallet going with a higher resolution. Viewing angles are also good as with most IPS screens. The panel technically supports HDR 10 but given IPS blacks and contrast are relatively poor compared to OLED, this isn't something I would put too much emphasis on. The only negative I would give this monitor is that the screen is matte, which makes the overall appearance a little less vibrant and eye-popping. It also makes it harder to clean, as glossy tends to clean up nicer. With kids that's something to consider. For us this is absolutely perfect for my kids' gaming station. We just plug in their laptop and then they can use all of their peripherals instead of having to hunch over the smaller 15" laptop screen. We are very happy with the performance connected to a 3050Ti laptop GPU and it runs Sims4 and their other games great! Definitely recommend especially when it can be had for much lower at BB when on sale.

Gaming level quality on a budget

When I was looking for a new monitor to replace my older 24" display, I wanted something bigger and better in as many ways that I could think of while staying in budget. My research brought me to the Acer Nitro for a couple of key reasons; firstly, it's bigger at 27" and secondly, it's quite comfortably within my price point. The Nitro XVO 27" monitor is a fully fledged gaming monitor which means it has some pretty decent specs because gamers depend on having a top notch experience and getting that upper edge. What's great is the built-in AMD FreeSync Premium which communicates with the PC's graphics card to dial it into the right frame rate thus preventing tearing or frame skipping. The super-fast response time of 0.5 milliseconds reduces blurring when gaming. The 200hz refresh rate puts it firmly in gaming territory giving you the edge you need in a fast paced game or action packed movie. It's an IPS panel which means better color reproduction, better blacks, and wider viewing angles. I think the only places this doesn't get into gaming territory is the basic 1080p resolution and the quick, but not quick enough refresh rate. I would've liked QHD resolution or better, but that would affect the price and get me out of budget. The refresh rate is pretty good for my needs, but if you're doing mostly gaming, I might suggest 240hz+. Big bonuses are dual HDMI ports for split screen usage and a display port that supports variable refresh rates and crisp 4K video (doesn't apply). The menu buttons and joystick are easily accessible to the right rear of the screen and offer a great deal of adjustment options to get the right color and contrast individually or using presets. The height adjustable stand is great for positioning the large 27" display at the right level for your needs, you can even twist it to portrait mode for the giant tablet look. The bezel is non-existent though bars are visible when it's turned on. A very efficient design though not the slimmest of housings, the base in the crisscross V format is stable and adds a pop of red chevron in the center for the premium look.

I picked up the Acer Nitro XV270 as a dual purpose monitor to use with a multi-monitor setup.  TL:DR Summary - This is the monitor you want if you're looking for value and may use it for multiple purposes such as work, streaming, or gaming. Specific to gaming, if you have a decent setup with a solid graphics card, go ahead and pick up this monitor, it will absolutely be something you enjoy gaming off of. On the flip side, if you have a high end GPU that can drive a higher response rate and resolution, then you may find yourself feeling like this is a step down. My personal feelings are that the price is right and it's a good monitor, beating out many higher priced monitors designed for office use. Pros: Low profile frame, fits in well to a multi-monitor setup Viewing angle is fantastic, can basically see it from anywhere AMD FreeSync Premium syncs with GPU to offer smooth gaming visuals 200 Hz refresh rate can be capped to support various levels of GPUs Good optimization settings for custom profiles Cons: FHD vs 4k Perceived visual quality loss in comparison to top end gaming monitor for transitions, vibrancy, and transitions.  In the box is the monitor, stand, power cable, and hdmi cable. Setup is easy, click the stand into the back of the monitor, screw on the base and plug it in. Specs are FHD, 200 Hz refresh rate, response rate is 0.5ms with AMD Adaptive Sync. All of this packaged in a 27", slim frame, in-plane switching (IPS) LCD, build. The monitor offers 2 x 2.0 HDMI ports and a 1.2 DP. The screen has a matte coating for glare reduction and can be viewed from any angle that you'd expect to need, I currently have this monitor angled at 45 degrees to my primary monitor and have no complaints.  As far as settings, the XV270 offers 8 profiles (3 x user selected gaming modes, custom user, standard, eco, graphics, and HDR). Within the customized settings are blue light reduction, ACM, HDR, and "Super Sharpness", ultra low latency on/off, variable refresh rate on/off, show sight target with 3 sight styles, transparency, hot key, wide mode, and HDMI black leveling.  This is not an inclusive list, but everything else is what I considered standing to any monitor you may want to consider for gaming. How do I feel about this build? It's good-ish. The gaming response is very smooth and quick, but I wish this performance came with a UHD+ resolution. Unfortunately I set this up next to a very high end gaming monitor, and the differences are visible. To be fair, the other monitor is a significant cost investment, so I'm not sure it's really an apples to apples comparison.  The Acer Nitro monitor line is a solid choice, there's no glare, viewing angles are great, and for 90% of us who aren't pro gamers, this monitor performs well with no tearing and fast response.

    Great Entry Level Gaming Monitor

This is actually a pretty decent monitor by acer. I have owned quite a few acer monitors over the years, in fact I still have the Acer XFA240 144Hz 24" hooked up to my secondary computer setup, and its still up and kicking without issues. With that said this monitor was super simple to get up and going, i did have to tone down the brightness a little bit in the settings as i felt it was a little too bright and was washing out some colors, but after a quick adjust of that it was smooth sailing. I played a few games on this monitor and it seemed to achieve the advertised specs, great refresh rate with gsync and hitting 200Hz without fail. I did run a few tests such as ufo blur test etc, and it passed without issues, no bluring at all, which is great for the price range of this monitor; as i was a little skeptical. pros -200Hz refresh rate -.5 milliseconds response -Freesync(AMD Adaptive Sync)/Gsync Compatible (with newer video cards) -display port, 2 hdmi 2.0 -hdr -antiglare -price cons -buttons on the back right side, for me with 5+ monitors hooked up, it makes it hard to make quick adjustments. i prefer buttons on the bottom for quick fine tuning, this might just be a personal gripe' -the monitor out of the box was easy to setup, but i felt the brightness was too high, and needed immediate adjustment overall the monitor works great, and again at this price point it does its job and does it well. there are obviously better monitors out there by acer but if you are just looking for an entry level gaming monitor, paired up with a newer video card, this one will do the trick and should get you up and going.

This monitor has a particular customer in mind, and that is the competitive gamer that is also on a budget. If that is you, then it will serve you well. It is not necessarily a good fit for everyone, however. For me, it has many drawbacks, but I also must recognize its position in the market and realize that many of those criticisms will relate to that fact more than anything. It is a good size IPS panel with a matte finish, a nice stand with height, tilt, and angle adjustments up to a full 90-degree rotation, two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort. There are no speakers, no USB ports, and generally no frills. I personally don’t like IPS displays, as they always have an orange glow to them and while they are very responsive and have good color reproduction, they also have very poor black levels. Again, they are great for high refresh rates and very minimal response times making them good for competitive games where frames win games. So not my personal preference but they exist for a reason. I played a few games on it to try and test out its capabilities, going with an old favorite and a new release to see the differences. I got all 200fps on the older game and it was buttery smooth with no screen tearing, and while the new release title was much more demanding on my hardware it still presented the same results in smooth gameplay. Other nice features like auto sleep and auto wake based on the signal input from the computer, and many on screen options for color, HDR, FreeSync, are all available on the back right side of the screen. The buttons for interacting with those menus are all behind the screen making them difficult to use since you have to just feel around for them, and they are also very small. It is a good 1080P screen for high FPS games where graphic fidelity is lower on the tier list of importance. So long as that is what you are looking for then you will be happy with it. Provide your own speakers or headset and try to avoid using the buttons more than you absolutely must and it will give you what you need for a good price.

This popped up just as my daughter needed a display for her new desk setup so she can drive her laptop which is 1080p but more importantly play her games at higher refresh rates than 60hz. I've recently really have started to like Acer's entire gaming line up of products. I've tried several and besides one not so great gaming laptop (but several other great gaming and office laptops), everything else has been really above average and I have no problems recommending them. I'm glad to say for gaming the XV0 delivers well enough especially when on sale. Inside the box, you get the display very well packed, stem (arm), baseplate, a manual, power cord and a single HDMI cable. If you plan on driving a DisplayPort (DP) display, you will need to provide your own cable. The display itself does have 2x HDMI and 1x DP connectors. There are a few "gamer" accents on the base but nothing that is garrish or unpleasing. The display is light enough and modern displays can be put together in less than two minutes. No tools are needed and everything snaps and twists right into place. Stem snaps right into the back of the VESA compatible display. Baseplate snaps and slides up slightly with a built in liftable twist and lock down screw and you're good to go. It can tilt forward and back, has a very nice range vertically and can tilt. I had no problems setting it into various configurations. Testing, it hit 200fps as advertised. The display is an 8-bit panel so the picture quality isn't fantastic but passable. If you're a gamer or casual user, this display will do the trick. On the other hand, if you're looking to do some graphical work where picture quality and color accuracy is important, you will want to look elsewhere. Hooking it up at the same time to my 10-bit 240hz 32" OLED and sliding some high quality pics of birds in video back and forth, the picture quality difference is immediately obvious but the price point for a full size 200hz 27" display it is right in line. Gaming at 200hz during testing everything was silky smooth....I mean luxuriously smooth. I purposely tested this on a 5090 equipped system so I knew fps would be capped at 200fps everywhere and it did not disappoint. I tested it with World of Warcraft, Deux Ex Mankind Divided, Fallout 76 and a spot of Harry Potter and Fortnite. If you're into gaming on a budget, this display will get it done and then some. After setting it up for my daughter, compared to her tiny laptop 60hz display for gaming, she was absolutely thrilled so I was thrilled too. The compact size really fits well on her desk setup too and the display really doesn't throw off any meaningful heat. The only problem was a bit of wobble if you tend to hit your keys pretty hard and/or rest and move your palms on the desk/palmrest. In the end, for a great price, you get plenty of real estate, acceptable picture quality, 200hz refresh rate which is plenty fast all in a lightweight, ergonomically and aesthetically nice package.

I recently built a PC and needed a new monitor to game on. I got this one because it was on sale and had a great price tag to it. For the money, it is a great monitor as it is 200hz and has HDR. I have had no problems with it at all so far. Highly recommend
