Not very good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is good for some types of gaming but lags fairly well in most games. The disk usage is always at 100% which makes the computer very slow and sometimes unusable. But for other things except for graphically intense games it works very well with school work! (Acer, if you read this do you have a fix for bad graphics and 100% disk usage? Thanks!)

It's good
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A well spec'd system that can get you into any game. Recommendation: add another 8GB ram and you're set! Even though the storage isn't SSD, it makes up for having 1TB of storage which is enough to download a good amount of games. I've ran titles such as Saints Row 3/4 and GTAV and achieved respectable frame rates; the 1050 isn't the beefiest but it certainly gets the job done.

Yes it can use a NVMe drive in it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So my biggest question when I purchased these was if it could be upgraded to a NVMe drive. Couldnt get a straight answer. Could not find anyone who has done this and people where questioning if it could be done. YES IT CAN! Currently set up with the stock 1TB Hitachi 7200rpm HDD AND. a 500gb Samsung 970 evo (runs cooler than anything else I researched minus the pro series, kind of a must for the confined space of a laptop). It does take a little bit of work and the biggest issues I had was the Samsung driver's and utilities not being compatible with this SSD even though they say it is, and getting the machine to recognize the stock HDD as a separate drive before I went in to diskmgmt to change the address. This thing screams with that upgrade. WoW was running at 65 to 100 fps on the recommended settings which puts everything at high. Mind you, this is not a high end machine, but for what it is and what I'm upgrading from, it is a huge improvement.

Great for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The machine is pretty. It definitely has what I need to play the games I do and to handle the work load I place on it. I rated this a 4 because there is simply too much bloatware. Startup is initially slow and takes a good cleaning. But well worth the effort for a machine at this price. Also the case seems a bit less hardy than I would prefer. If you are setting it on a desk should be fine but if you intend to travel, it could be an issue,

Son’s first gaming laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was a gift for my son. He is into console gaming but wanted to venture into PC gaming. Read reviews for many entry-level gaming laptops before deciding on this one and I’m happy with the decision. My son loves it! Granted, we don’t have anything else to compare it to since this is the first gaming laptop we’ve owned. However, all the games he plays work great on it. No lagging at all and they all play in medium to high quality. A great product at a great price point for gamers!

Powerful Laptop Great Price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for gaming when I travel. I play an MMO so when I travel for work it's nice to be able to log in a few hours in a dungeon or leveling an Alt. My last laptop was ok but I played at a steady 20fps. The Acer Nitro is a completely different story. This thing is a beast and out performs my old laptop by 1000%! I am able to maintain 50fps on a World Boss/Capital Cities in WoW and I maintain 75-90fps in open world. I was able to maintain 60fps in PuBG on medium graphics as well. The laptop has a good feel and is full HD (1080p). I am very happy with this purchase!

||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As well as our previous laptops we carefully searched for all the features we were looking for and found another great device even though it wasn’t on sale or anything the staff was helpful knowledgeable friendly and ready to help us find it with ease and my son being an engineer student was very pleased to own it knowing he can use it at the University for academic purposes and play games as well. Excellent keyboard and stylish model- it lights up and has a super soft friendly touch! Loved the colors too. Fast and light.

love the keyboard, very fast
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know I bought a gaming computer but I am not a gamer. The price was just right. Finding it very easy to use, responsive keyboard; didn't like the light up keyboard at first but makes seeing the keys very easy; powerful, fast, operation - only missing a dvd drive but I knew that when I bought it. Overall, a good workhorse of a computer.

Great price, Entry Gamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for something that will get you by until your next major build or major laptop purchase, this laptop is a great starting spot. It will play most games with little trouble, with the exception of load times. It can get bogged down really easily but when loaded it runs smooth. The fans are a bit loud but overall decent

Solid Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The specs on the computer suggest that it's a decent gaming laptop. And actually it is. The initial set up does take a while but even with the traditional HDD it doesn't take too long to start up once the setup is completed. My biggest gripe is the touchpad. It doesn't feel solid. They opted for an all in one (like macbook) where you can scroll and click without dedicated buttons. I'm not a fan of that. Makes the pad feel mushy and unreliable. It's able to handle ableton 10 with recording and playback without lag (once adjusted) and the processor benches above the AMD FX-8350 processor in the PC I built a couple of years ago for half of the price. The laptop stays cool. I did test Destiny 2 for a few minutes to see if there was any framerate drop or lag and I didn't notice any. Would I get this as a hardcore gamer? Probably not. But those are very nitpicky people and will pay for exactly what they want. Is this a good computer for casual gaming on the go and some simple audio recording? Yeah I would say so. A good place to record ideas for music if you get that inspiration and a good laptop to jump in a game with your friends in the comfort of wherever you are.

Love it except
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love my new Acer Nitro 5. It's fast the graphics are wonderful and hook to my Bose speakers has great sound the only thing that I would improve on it is C power chord when you plug it into the wall and you're using the laptop the power box gets extremely hot. Hope they correct that

Great PC for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Nitro 5 on Black Friday. I'm not a gamer, by any stretch of the imagination, however this is an entry level gaming PC. I bought it because of the Nvidia GEforce GTX card. My text documents and spreadsheets are very easy to read because this screen is razor sharp! I also like the back-lit keys, which are a help late at night for me to see. I would recommend this PC, as its fast and does the job for me.

Fantastic little gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it for a work trip where i couldn't bring my desktop setup. Worked pretty well. I immediately replaced the HDD with an SSD to give it a boost in performance though. Was frustrated why my games would be limited to 30 FPS while on battery, but found out it was a setting in GeForce experience. although the battery only lasts about an hour or two max

Great bang for your buck
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great computer can run gta V well but I would first get an sandisk 1Tb ssd with upgrades ram either 16gb or 32gb of ram would work well for games that use lots of ram. Sometimes optimizing you’re games using GeForce experience can make the game run worse that how it usually would when you first download a game. Either way it’s a great budget gaming laptop.

Good for gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its been about a month since my purchase and im satisfied with my laptop. Does just what it needs to do for the right price. I constantly hit 80-120fps on high settings for fortnite. Games like the witcher and skyrim(80+mods) run decent on ultra settings but i prefer to play on high or medium for a much smoother performance. All in all good laptop for gaming. When im editing videos or even just surfing the web the computer is pretty slow. Im not sure if this is because of certain programs i have on it but its been like that from the start. But otherwise ive already reconmended my friend this laptop and hes already purchased it.

Great laptop for what I need
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy my laptop it's really fast and it the keys light up so if I wanted to use it in the dark I could. The only thing I wish it had was a Cd/DVD player however my mom has a DVD player that hooks into your USB so it works out.

This is an excellent laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once I replaced the HDD with an SSD. The red backlit keyboard is classy and not intrusive. The keys are a little soft, but it feels very similar to the Dell it replaced. The screen is vibrant and works well in well it and low life y areas. It is heavy, but it is what I expected. The battery is okay, and gives me between 3 and 4 hours of use.

Nice entry level laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was purchased mainly for some light video editing and gaming and fits the bill for these purposes. Build doesn't exactly scream out quality but it doesn't feel like junk either. I get quite a few onlookers commenting how nice it looks. The one I purchased came with a 1 TB harddrive and I knew right away I would be adding an SSD drive. The slow harddrive it came with does this laptop a disservice, but since I knew I would be adding an SSD that was ok. Adding a Samsung 970 m.2 nmve to this machine was easy to do and has made it much faster and responsive. I now use the 1tb drive it came with solely for data. I got a great deal on this laptop to begin with and then an additional 85 bucks off when it went on sale 5 days after purchase and best buy price matched.

Fantastic for its price tag
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Th truth is that for the price and hardware this laptop has, it EXCEEDS expectations. It is surprisingly fast and can run most games effortlessly on medium to high settings at 60 fps including Fortnite. It's phenomenal for multitasking and it's perfect for things like doing college working yet wanting to be able to game moderately.
