This was an amazing Black Friday deal. I was expecting a great computer considering it's specs, and that's what I got.

This review is specific to the Acer - Nitro 5 15.6" Laptop with the Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB Memory, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card, and 1TB Hard Drive. The first thing I noticed when opening the box was how cool and stylish this laptop is. The red and black color scheme is very appealing and makes the laptop look like a high-end gaming laptop. The keyboard is backlit and contains a number pad and full-sized directional arrow keys which is somewhat rare when it comes to laptops of this size. The WASD keys are also accented making it easy to find them during gaming. When it comes to performance, I found it works very well and has excellent battery life compared to various other laptops I have used in the past which is surprising considering this is designed to be a gaming laptop. The CoolBoost Technology is a great feature which allows you to have more control over the cooling system. The speakers are decent but not great although this shouldn’t really be much of an issue if you plan on using a gaming headset anyways. The setup process was easy and straightforward. Part of the process was able to be completed with only my voice through the use of Cortana which was pretty cool and something I wasn’t expecting. Once it booted up into Windows, I noticed quite a bit of bloatware but this is to be expected and was easily dealt with by uninstalling the unneeded items. Overall, this is a great mid-range gaming laptop and I highly recommend it!

Bought this for my then 9 year old son as an entry level gaming computer and he loves it.

Perfect for my 11 yr old son. He uses it mainly for Fortnite but it satisfies all of his needs and is perfect for him.

Bought a few years ago and still working great! Great price on sale at the time. Seems to be quality.

So far my girls have enjoyed their experiences. It is very responsive and the Full HD screen is awesome! I am given it a three star because it is still pretty early to give it more. Let's see how it continues to perform after a few months to a year.

This is the less expensive version for everything that has been packed into this amazing machine. I love using it!

I got this laptop to play the Sims 4, and it works better than I'd expected! For the price, it's an amazing value!

Hurriedly purchased this product not expecting alot, but I do not REGRET purchasing this laptop.

The initial setup was very easy. This is my first Acer product. I really like the illuminated keyboard. The startup of the laptop is fast and with some other laptops that initial opening of the screen there sometimes is some lag but I didn't notice with this unit. I really like the performance while searching online with it. Some of the apps ran smoothly. For an i5 with 8GB of memory I was pleasently surpised how this unit operated. The battery life without turning the brightness down lasted around 5 hours but this is a gaming laptop. The website claims 8.5 hours but I believe that is when the brightness is turned down or battery saver feature is being used. The dolby audio is nice for a laptop in my opinion. Has a USB Type C port - USB 3.1 and 1 USB 3.0 port as well as 2 - USB 2.0 and 1 - HDMI 2.0. The only con I can say is this computer comes with Norton preloaded which if you are loading new programs on the laptop it slows the installation as it has to scan the installation which can be annoying if you want to load a program quickly. For the price I would look at having it in your top three to compare and review.

Love this Laptop, changing the Harddrive for an ssd makes it very fast. does not support VR.Finger print monster!!!
