I only had two games downloaded. Fortnite and PUBG and it lagged so much. The FPS hovered around 30, I had to make a lot of adjustments. I then tried to stream and the FPS stayed at 5. Aside from this, the laptop took forever to even boot up or even open applications. Even the internet was super slow. Do NOT Get this laptop. Get the I7

First and Last Acer Product !!!

Purchased 8/25 within 4 days I had to contact Acer support as the laptop kept shutting down. In the beginning it would just reboot randomly After talking with Acer support they had me reset the battery, but then also said if the problem continues it would need to be serviced. It seemed to work for a few days. But now the unit just shuts down whenever it feels like it. The unit is on a cooling pad so the bottom is cool. The top of the keyboard area gets hot to the touch. After resetting the battery several times over the last few days the problem still persists. I checked on the Acer forum and this seems to be a problem with this Nitro 5 unit. This was my first Acer product and will be may last. I can't believe they would let this unit out to the public with a problem like this.

    A Good Laptop for Gaming!

Fantastic product! I play a lot of video games and this laptop was able to handle them quite well. The red lights are very cool, and I was able to stream videos crystal clear. It's able to handle modern games at very high settings. I only have a few gripes--The touchpad for the laptop is not all that great, and if you're wanting to play games, you'll want to invest in a mouse. I had a few issues with Wifi reception at times as well. The laptop will run a bit hot when playing a resource heavy game, but the fans are very quiet. These issues are why I've docked a star. Overall, I would recommend this laptop for someone who's beginning to get into the gaming computer scene. It's aesthetically pleasing and lightweight to carry around for gaming on the go.

I thought this was going to be a great value since it was cheap and cool looking. Well a month after the 1 year warranty was over, it died. No power whatsoever. I thought it was a battery which was dead. After replacing it, I thought it was the charging board inside. Nope, I bought a new one. It is the mainboard. I work on computers not laptops though,, so it was a bit disappointing to find that it was the most expensive part that was dead.

This was pne of the most problematic purchases I’ve had to recent date. Everything went wrong after I started this laptop up. The usb drivers got messed up and the process to fix them was never resolved. Had to return.

This review is a bit different as I let my wife set it up on her own. It went smooth as silk. Setup was a breeze and in about 15 minutes it was up and running with her MS accounts etc.. She had "Cortana" take her through the setup and it was fun watching my wife go through it. She mainly does office work and streaming YT, Netflix etc.. and so far it's been very seamless. The system so far in 2 days has run great and no speed issues or glitches. The 1TB HDD is more than enough for what she does and the 1080P for her is a nice upgrade from what she had. The red back-lit keyboard is nice but obviously just cosmetic. As far as gaming (I'd consider this an entry level machine BUT a very nice one) you wont have many issues running but not on the highest settings on most newer games these days. It holds it's own though and games look very good in the 1080P. If you're a big gamer buying the newest games etc.. you'd want to look elsewhere or you'll be upgrading sooner than you want. I would not have any issues buying another for my daughters to use for school when they need another one.
