Its the best cheap gaming laptop to purchase so far

Even with all of the good modifications and the awesome Processor the device runs slow and gives a lot of blue screens while I’m running weak games if I have the chance to return it I would it’s too much money for a low performance

Nice Laptop but missing the Hard Drive Caddy with Cable ...so kinda hard to add my files to a laptop without a 2nd HD that can hold the 1.5 TB of my data the 250GB SSD that came with it cannot!. Contacted support with Case # 5177900U ..they want me to purchase the missing parts instead of making it right! I won't hold my breath having registered the warrenty that anything else will be helped by acer should something break!

For starters, I don't use this computer (or any computer) much for gaming. I tried Fortnite on this laptop, and it ran fine for me. No issues at all playing over WiFi. I have always preferred console, but if you're looking for a laptop to play games, this seems like it will do the trick. Now the real review. This thing is lightning fast. I was on a bit of a budget, but wanted something with power and speed. If you're in a debate between a "gaming laptop" and a "normal laptop", but you care about performance more than battery, touchscreen, or whatever else they try to appeal to mass audiences with, go with the "gaming laptop". I am blown away by the performance of this thing. Navigating busy pages, dealing with large excel files, and streaming videos at the same time is seamless. Probably "overkill" for what I do, but I wanted something with speed, and that's exactly what I got. I get about 4 hours out of my battery which is totally fine with me considering there are outlets everywhere, and i'm almost always connected to an external monitor at a desk. The screen is decent, could be a little brighter. The trackpad would be my biggest complaint. It's pretty responsive and completely acceptable, I just don't really like the feel compared to other laptops I've used. I have an external fan under the laptop, but never turn it on. I leave it under the laptop so it has some more room for air. The laptop stays pretty cool after hours of use without turning the external fan on.

I had the laptop for 4 days and ended up returning it because it heat throttled so bad that playing basic games would average around 15 FPS. Only reason why I gave it a shot was the sale price but even at that price point it wasn't worth the hassle.

In less than a half hour I got 2 BLUE SCREENS and a "Cannot find a bootable device" ERROR. GOING BACK

I wanted an affordable gaming laptop and that is what i got. My screen would also time out when on battery like the others but thats not a fault of the computer thats a battery saving setting. I went into sleep settings and set the screen not to blank out on battery. The other reviewers are right the outside plastic feels cheap but i didnt buy it for the looks or feel. I wanted something that i could afford that incoukd game from. So far i have played sea of thieves, fortnite and SWTOR without issue. Its exactly what inwas looking for. If you want soemthing that looks and feels nice pay the extra couple of hundred dollars for that but for me l only care about the internal hardware and this is an amazing deal if thats what you are looking for.

Arrived with a defect, would randomly shut down when unplugged

Good laptop for the price, I paid 599 for the laptop on a flash sale.This is a solid price for a laptop with a 1050ti. Only complaints i have is the internal SSD isn't that good, Its alright at best but definitely swap it out with a samsung SSD or anything better. There is no easy access to this driver so the entire bottom piece needs to come off to have access to it. Another issue is that the keyboard backlight times out in 30 seconds and according to the acer forums, there is no way of changing this. Overall 4/5

I needed a new laptop for work, because I had a cheap hp that was pretty slow. I was intending on buying a Macbook Pro, but when I decided to look at other options, I found the Acer Nitro 5, which ended up being a few hundred dollars cheaper with double the specs. I'm not a huge gamer, but I recently started playing PUBG and that had alot to do with what swayed my decision to get a gaming computer. I am extremely happy with my purchase. It runs the game flawlessly and the graphics look great, especially paired with the Samsung 27' curved monitor I just bought to go with it. This is by far the best laptop I have ever owned and greatly exceeded my expectations. It's really more than what i needed because most of what I use it for is for work, and I just use a web based software. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone though.
