I got this computer for speed and graphics and I am very pleased.

I was excited to get this laptop as a casual gaming/lots of writing computer when my other one stopped meeting my needs. Unfortunately, right out of the box it's been nothing but frustration. I spent 4 hours trying to get it set up, and eventually a friend of mine had to do it for me. Immediately, I noticed I had issues with typing. I do a lot of writing for both work and fun, but it's no longer fun or convenient when you miss one out of seven letters because the keyboard doesn't register you hitting the key--it's close to doubled the time it takes me to do my work, just because I have to go back and fix all the missed letters. I'm also not impressed with the location of the speakers. The sound is great when wearing headphones, but I frequently don't use headphones and the position of the speakers means I have to have the volume almost maxed out to be able to hear anything clearly. I actually can only hear it decently if I have it tilted so the bottom is angled more toward me... which is irritating to have to hold and makes it annoying trying to see the screen. I also find the trackpad frustrating--it's too sensitive when I don't want it to be, and doesn't register that I'm telling it to do something when I'm actually trying. Mostly I use a wireless mouse, but it's a problem when it registers me trying to zoom instead of move the page, or doesn't register that I'm touching it. Also, as a personal preference, I don't like that the trackpad doesn't have actually buttons for clicking--it's been annoying trying to click but the mouse zooms up to a completely different area of the screen because it registered my 'click' as a 'movement.' The graphics and speed is good for a casual gamer like myself, so I figured I could put up with the annoyances. However, I use computers for about 70% typing-30% gaming, so the issues with the keyboard are a huge problem for me. I wish I'd returned it right away, because on top of everything else, I've had it for a year and a half and for no reason I can tell, the charger has completely given out. While it's decent for gaming if you regularly use headphones, I don't find it's worth the money or effort of getting a new charger for a laptop that's been nothing but a headache for me.

So far good, all updates are installed and the laptop is fully setup. I have begun downloading games. I got Rocket League downloaded, it ran pretty smooth with decent graphics, I am gonna download other games like Rainbow Six siege and will update when those are done. Overall for the price seems like a decent laptop with quality build.

Good entry level gaming laptop that I got for my 7 year old.

Shopped for some time for gaming computers, came across this no-brainer at Best Buy and on sale. Better than average reviews, plenty of memory with ability to expand. Haven't had more than 3 weks, so far it has been really excellent and grandsons are impressed.
