Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the Nitro 5's performance, especially its speed and gaming capabilities, and many find it offers good value for the price. However, customers are negative about the battery life and some report issues with fan noise and heat generation during intensive use. The relatively small storage capacity is another common concern. While some appreciate the keyboard, others find the laptop to be somewhat heavy.

I recently purchased this laptop a few weeks ago, and I am actually writing this review on it as we speak. For starters, I just casually game, but I have tested thing this out with a few AAA titles at normal-high settings and it was able to maintain high to decent fps. I purchased this little power house on sale for 599.99 and I like to say you get what you pay for, but honestly with this performance I would have easily payed 1k for it knowing how it performs now. Acer really outdid themselves with this one, allowing gamers the opportunity to enjoy high quality games at great resolutions/frames per second, without having to pinch too deep into your wallet. Thumbs up 5 stars from me!!

I bought this laptop after previously owning an ASUS ROG laptop. While not on par with that one, this one performs excellently for the price I paid. Boots up quickly, able to use it for regular web surfing, email etc, and have been lightly playing Skyrim and Lost Ember with no lag. Only two features I'm not crazy about are that you can't change the backlit keyboard brightness, and while playing games the fan runs incredibly loud. Aside from those two annoyances I'm very happy with this purchase.

Great machine. It is worth the price. I haveny had any problems with functionality yet. Battery life seems to be above average for medium usage. I would highly recommend this laptop for people who want affordable med range gaming on the go.

I actually enjoy using the laptop from drawing on clip studio to playing Minecraft, Dead by daylight and Cup Head and Mug Man. The issues I have however is how loud the fans get during the summer or playing dead by daylight making it sound like a mini jet engine. Along with how quickly the battery life has withered away, however its not a problem for me as I'm basically connected to my wall outlet 24/7, and that if you place a magnet on the left side of the track pad, example from a phone case, it will black screen and shut down the laptop found this out the hard way. (ps when connecting the charger push it in till you hear the small click of the connectors coming together or see the orange charging light activate.)

I bought this pc because of its great foundation to upgrade for video editing and rendering: An i5-10300h, NVMe SSD, GTX 1650, and a 2nd open slot for another NVMe and a third slot for yet another SSD (SATA). With Windows tweaked and an upgrade of memory to 32GB and two recycled SSDs, this little diamond is a very good laptop at a great price. Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition all work smoothly across 3 SSDs at 2k. Needs more oomph for 4k. Can't do that for the price including upgrades on anything else!

Not tech knowledgeable at all, but I can say this was the easiest computer set up I've ever done. I'd say it's because operating systems have become more user friendly. As far as the Acer Nitro goes I love everything about it except for the red backlit keyboard. Feels like I'm getting a glimpse of the gates of hell. Maybe blue would have been a better choice. Also I knew the Nitro was a gaming computer but I primarily use it for picture editing and it's great for that. Physically the laptop feels sturdy enough and it's my understanding I can expand the memory if need be. All in all Best Buy had the best buy pricewise and delivery too. I'm pleased with the overall experience.

First off this is a really great budget gaming laptop dose everything I need plus extra. My biggest complaint is the 256Gb size hard drive you definitely need more space if you have lots of games installed on it like me I already installed a 1tb M.2 solid state drive and plan on installing another SATA solid state drive later there is plenty of room to upgrade the RAM on it also being expandable to 32GB of ram I do have to say if your only gaming on it you don't need that much but ram is really cheap upgrade so I went ahead and maxed it out at 32GB with 2 HYPER X 16GB RAM card I do have to say I definitely tell the difference from the stock 8GB. As for the screen seeing use I can definitely tell it dose not have the true colors you would need for video editing and all that but as for a gaming pc it definitely great at 144HZ definitely the best performing screen o had on a pc yet. Over all definitely worth the money after price I paid taxes 3 warranty and upgraded M.2 drive and ram all together I was just over $1000 really good I know Acer makes the nitro5 with better already upgraded hardware but if your on a budget and don't mind upgrading one thing at a time this is definitely for you I do think I should have gotten the Intel i7 or the AMD prosser over the Intel I5 but still performs great for what I need.

This is a great laptop if you're looking into casually gaming. It's fast, responsive, and displays new games very well in a fluid fashion when plugged in. I saw some reviews that their laptop was "dead on arrival." I thought I got a dead one too when it wouldn't turn on, but I realized that I had to push the charger in more for it to be fully plugged-in. This is a common issue I noticed, and I wanted to inform everyone of what I noticed. Hopefully this helps!

This is not the sleekest, nor the most powerful laptop you can buy. What it is though is an incredibly great value. It is well built, and can play modern games at medium settings. This sort of laptop was unheard of even a few years ago. There is an empty 2.5 inch slot, empty ram slot and empty M.2 slot as well. You could easily upgrade this with little cost/effort.

Bought this laptop for my teacher wife to use for her school work and everyday computer needs. I easily added another 8 gig of RAM and a 1 tb m2 drive. This laptop is a powerhouse and is super fast. This was a great purchase.

This gaming laptop was for my 10 y/o son. He's been using it for mostly Roblox, Fortnite, Youtube and a few conferencing softwares (MS Teams and Zoom) he uses for school and Cubscouts. It has worked perfectly and was a needed upgrade to the Chromebook he was using for school. No more getting kicked out of Teams during a lesson. Sale price of $600 was reasonable. The memory is upgradable from 8GB to 32GB which well do in future there's an extra slot for an additionalal HD. All in all a great purchase. No regrets.

The first one i picked up had a thin blue line running down the center of the screen. I updated the drivers to make sure that wasn't it but when the line was still on the bios screen itself, I knew it was a hardware malfunction. I returned it to the store and had to drive to another store just to pick up the replacement. 2nd one we have had for 4 months now and running fine. My wife doesn't use it for gaming. I bought it for her for the sturdier keyboard and longer battery life. I occasionally play some games on it but rarely since I have a tower dedicated to gaming. YES, MAKE SURE THE CHARGER CORD CLICKS WHEN YOU PLUG IT IN. No click, no chargie... I updated the RAM to 16gb before trying to run Star Citizen on it. Runs fine at med to high graphics.

We were looking for a computer strong enough for my kids to play video games that didn’t cost a fortune and I can still use for daily needs. This laptop has really good sound, it is fast enough for video games and good memory capacity. Keyboard light up red and I love red. Laptop is tick and durable. So far it’s been used daily and doesn’t and no complains. Overall great option for our needs.

Well I really enjoy this computer the only complaint that I have about it is the battery life is awful I am constantly keeping it hooked up even with just doing A small amount of social media and spreadsheets I feel like the battery doesn’t hold as well as what it should all in all though the graphics are great the computer is nice it does get heated quite quickly as well so I am glad that it has the fans to help with it because it does get really hot very quickly but other than that it is a good computer
