    I bought this computer and have barely been able to use it. We got it and set it up, but for whatever reason it crashes the internet everytime we go to use. The network is setup we've tried both wireless and hardwire still nothing. So we hadn't used it a lot. Now I went to go turn it on and nothing.... No lights and it won't turn on. It's been on the charger for days and we tried different outlets. What a waste of money! I do not recommend this product!

    Very Bad/Cheap Keyboard

    Very bad keyboard; would not recommend unless you plan on using a standalone keyboard. Had to return and order two. First one backlight of keyboard was broken and keys only registered if you pressed the exact center (even if the key clicked down.). 2nd laptop backlight worked but same issue with pressing keys down. Very frustrating when typing normally as you don't always hit the exact center of a key. Would not recommend if you plan on doing any typing or gaming on the laptop keyboard itself.

    For the most part this computer is okay but it has plenty of issues with blue screening. I've had to factory reset the computer twice since I got it.

    The screen goes dark at random when certain keys are pressed, probably a loose connection. Have to use an external keyboard.

    Want hold charge and hard to get it too charge and graphics are very sluggish / laggy. Do not buy returned 2 of them!

    The trackpad was very tough to get used to, and while the computer was fine, the trackpad was so bad that it was literally the reason why I returned the laptop.

    Blue screen in less than 24 hours

    I picked this up on a Saturday evening, used it a little when I got home, and then woke up to the blue screen of death on Sunday morning. Best Buy was great about taking the return, so no complaints there, but I’m very disappointed in the quality of the product. For a $700+ item I certainly expect better. My Chromebook is from Acer as well, and while it works, it is slow. Wouldn’t recommend Acer to anyone. This Nitro was my second Acer purchase and it will be my last.

    Poor Speed

    After few weeks the speed dropped and even there was a good support from acer tech, the speed was decent but again after some days the speed was awful so I need to know how to get this repaired or how to return since the grace time from best buy has expired

    if dc adaptor is not plug in completely , it will not connected. The manul should tell more detail about this connection .

    Dud, maybe the next one will work

    DOA. followed the start up directions, plugged it in and hit the power button and nothing. no lights no sounds. held the power button in for several seconds still nothing. let it set thinking maybe it needs charged and after several hours nothing. charger didn't even get warm. I even tried different power outlets and it never worked at all for me.

    Avoid this laptop!

    Just purchased this laptop new. Camera quality out of the box is terrible, very pixelated, and practically unusable. Uninstalling the camera device and reinstalling doesn't help. Windows thinks 2006 drivers are up-to-date! Acer support site provides no driver updates and no remedy. Planning to take this back asap.

    Audio problems galore

    Audio and mic support is crap. There is a known issue with this audio static feedback when using a headset that no one can seem to fix. Also having to reinstall audio drivers every other week because the laptop will stop recognizing when a headset is plugged in is just ridiculous for a gaming laptop.

    It’s doo doo, didn’t work right out of the box. Had to go back and got the HP pavilion gaming laptop instead which works fantastic. I’m a little disappointed because the nitro 5 looks so good! But I guess they spent the money on the cosmetics and not the functionality.

    Terrible laptop. Constantly disconnects from the WiFi after a bit of google research turns out it is a very common issue with this laptop. Tried to contact Acer with no reply. Absolute waste of money.

    Good beginner laptop

    Great budget/beginner laptop can upgrade the ram to 16gb makes it way better! This generation of the nitro 5 had the ability to upgrade storage using either another NVME SSD or a 2.5 in SSD unlike in the newer versions where you are forced to only use NVME which aint bad but on this generation you just had more options. The battery was the only real draw back it would die so quickly.
