Customers are positive about the Nitro 5's performance, especially its speed and gaming capabilities, and many find it offers good value for the price. However, customers are negative about the battery life and some report issues with fan noise and heat generation during intensive use. The relatively small storage capacity is another common concern. While some appreciate the keyboard, others find the laptop to be somewhat heavy.

Purchased as gift for grandson age 8. Very good gaming laptop for begginer gamer. Moderately priced as far as gaming laptops go. He loves the red back light and although does not have the speed of a highend gaming laptop it is more than sufficient for all of the games he presently plays. As a lower end gaming laptop gift I can definitely recommend.

Pretty good for its price. Had to buy this after my previous laptop broke down and this is working pretty well.
Been playing Elden ring and other generic AAA games, as well as been messing around with Unreal Engine 5.
Honestly surprised it even survived

Works well. Drops out once in a while, I think power supply issues, heats up too hot but fans really help, or my house Electrical supply, but overall a very fast great computer. Bought it two years ago and seems like good deal.

Caveat: I am not using this for gaming.
Really happy with the Acer Nitro overall. Listing pros and cons:
Pros
1) Price for value
2) Keyboard layout is great
3) Overall assembly is excellent
Cons
1) Weight (though it's about what you'd expect for the memory and processing)
2) Fans can be a little loud
3) Mouse adjustment

I really like the computer, I use it for light gaming, I mostly use it for my job and school and it runs amazingly. Be advised that the battery life is not very long if that is important for you. It is also easily customizable (adding ram and memory, etc) if that is also something important as well.

Laptop is very high-speed and reliable for what it's worth. I can perform many of my daily tasks without issue, it's performance is also something to be praised as it has given me no issue no matter what program im running at the moment or if there are multiple programs running.

A wonderful laptop for light gaming, streaming, adobe editing and more. Very up to date with settings and connections for Bluetooth and apple products if you have them. The battery life is not that great so you will need to keep the charger on hand or constantly plugged up.

Great price, fast delivery. My son is very happy with it's functionality for playing games online like Minecraft. It's not for serious high level gamers, but for recreational ones like my son it's nice. He loves the light up keyboard and it works well with a second monitor and gaming mouse.

So Far so good. Works great on the games I like. ESO I can play on high with 100fps - EVE I can play on high with 120fps. Working great so far, no heat issues even after prolonged use. I am using a cooling pad but still heat isnt an issue. Rarely get above 78f

Needed something that was a mark a over the typical i3/a4 variety for a more future-proof laptop. This was the last one they had on hand, thanks in part to COVID and everyone working/schooling from home. It fit the bill well, has options for more ram, and was well priced for what it is.

Bought this for my young son as a first gaming computer. Very inexpensive for a gaming ready PC (especially in this age of component shortages) and great for simple, non-graphics-intensive games such as Minecraft. So far, quite happy with the purchase!

Pros:
-Runs light/old games amazingly (LoL, HL2, Valorant, Borderlands 2, etc)
-Customizable fan speed
-Haven't had any hardware malfunctions after a month of owning it
Cons:
-Gets EXTREMELY hot running anything more graphically intensive than a 2013 era game if you don't turn the fans up to full blast
-The fans are EXTREMELY loud when you turn them up to cool off your PC
-Unless you have your laptop plugged in, games will run at a capped 30fps (there might be a way to change this, but I haven't found one)
TLDR: Buy if you're looking to play not graphically intensive or older games, but if you want to run anything newer than 2014 you should probably get something with some higher specs.

Workds great. Only bothersome things are the offset "home" keys because of the keypad...as a traditional typer it is hard to keep my hands left of center. Other thing is the Nitro button that really isn't useful for me and keeps getting hit. Otherwise...does what we need it to do.

My son wanted to buy a gaming laptop. A bunch of his friends had recommended this one and after reading a number of favorable reviews online, we purchased it. He couldn't be happier. It has exceeded his expectations with performance, battery life, and responsiveness. In addition, he loves the way it looks, since it definitely looks like a gamer's device.
I definitely recommend this to people looking for a gaming laptop. It's a great performer for the price.

Only draw back is battery life. However reviewing other laptops it’s all very similar in terms of that. But the laptop itself preforms very well albeit a little hot running some games. Overall would recommend

Very good laptop for the money, it can run games very well 60 FPS easily, but if your looking to put a lot of games on it i recommend putting some more storage on it the 256 GB is good for 2 games but anything after that you’ll have to delete.
