Bought this on impulse as was a deal of the day from Best Buy. Didn't need it but too good not to get. The clincher was that you could split it so also works as a 10" table and was a touch screen and Acer is a great make. Even though the screen res is only 1280x800 it does look more like 1368 or more. The base section (keyboard) has a USB input (which is the only input on the keyboard base unit) and as I love using a full size keyboard I plugged in a dongle for a wireless keyboard and mouse. I have tested Microsoft and Logitech mouse/KB combos with no problems. Picture is of the unit and bottom right is the USB dongle and the picture is a 4k Red Clouds nature picture. Tablet – the other section has all the other inputs: (5) 1 Power input 2 Micro USB ** 3 Micro SD card slot - I have tested 32/64/128 GB cards with no problems. I will try a 256GB when they go on sale. It can be used to expand the basic built in 32GB drive 4 Micro HDMI out – I am buying a connector next week and will advise if it doesn’t work but I am very confident I’ll have no problems 5 3.5mm Audio out ** the other picture is to show you can plug a micro USB to full USB connector in and use it either for a wireless keyboard and mouse Dongle or input for external USB flash drive in this picture I’ve connected a PNY 256GB flash drive which works fine as you can see. I’ve not done a full test to drain the battery dead but so far looks like a minimum 4 hour run time. I did run it 2 hours today playing a radio show from the internet and was still at 75% full. A bonus was it has Bluetooth built in which works great with all my USB speakers. Built in WI-FI works fine too. Quad core processor obviously not an I7 but I really cannot complain with the speed at all. All in all 10/10 but I can only give it 5 *****

I will be writing this review from a gamer/power user’s point of view (heavy workloads on desktop PC). As Bestbuy seems to be the only place selling this 2in1, I will attempt to list things that were difficult to find in other reviews. Currently using this for work and light gaming. Battery: Turned on PC and it had 80% charge with an estimated 6 hours left. Fully charged it and installed a BatteryBar toolbar to find the estimated battery life to hover around 7-12 hours (depending on what I was doing). Unexpectedly good. The battery itself seems to be only located in the tablet itself and not in keyboard as values don’t change when plugged in. System, by default, goes into sleep mode when lid is closed. Haven’t had this long enough to test how this fares with battery life but if it is an issue, you can always change it so the system goes into hibernation instead to have a 5-10 second start-up time instead of instantaneous. Battery takes a while to charge. Estimated numbers were around 3-4 hours to fully charge at 50%. Software: System came preinstalled with several pieces of Acer software but was not hard to uninstall. As this is a standard Win10 machine, I was able to install any program that I would on a normal desktop without a hitch. Keyboard: The keyboard layout is fantastic. Was able to plug it in and use it like any other keyboard with little error. Could use some improvement in some button arrangements but overall a good layout. The buttons are membrane but aren’t mushy. I would compare it to the Apple chiclet keyboards. The keyboard itself is very light. This keyboard/tablet setup was meant to be used in a sitting position as the screen doesn’t tilt that far back. Keyboard is barely heavy enough to keep the laptop upright when in use. If no pressure is put on the keyboard, any slight touch on the screen will push the laptop off balance. Using this as a literal “lap” top is impossible as the laptop is constantly falling over on its back. Display: An 800p IPS display. Screen is really bright at 100%. I was hoping for the lowest setting to be even dimmer but it’s bearable. Colors are very vibrant and didn’t notice anything off. There is some light bleed on the edge of the screen but it is only noticeable in a dark room when the screen is black. Touch controls are on point. Tap to click, hold down to right click, and drag to drag. There are some cases where the OS or program doesn’t register the tap even though the indicator is right on the object. This is mostly a software issue, however, since the indicator shows I am pressing it. Performance: For an Atom CPU and 2GB of RAM, you shouldn’t expect much. Performance begins to dip when multi-tasking. Just from having several tabs in Chrome and Office open, 70% of memory and 20-30% of CPU power was is in use. While this system is still able to run 3D applications, it is limited to very basic renders. As memory is limited on this system, with 11GB free after system updates/program installs, you wouldn’t be able to install many games either way. Noticeable FPS drops can be seen when playing a flash-based ship collection game. Some puzzle games I installed through Steam ran perfectly fine. Steam in-home streaming also worked flawlessly after a few tweaks and ran Dota2 with near 1:1 play. Modern visual novels/books also ran fine but dipped in heavy 3D scenes. Using the klite codec pack for media consumption, the system can take them all. 1080p TS files. 1080p MKV files with stylized subtitles. Can’t, however, handle 1080p Twitch streams. 720p30 ones are somewhat fine. Other streaming services such as Netflix should work fine as the system can somewhat handle 1080p YouTube content. Yes, this is only an 800p screen but the system was still able to handle higher quality content without problems. Random notes: System has a micro SD card slot that can handle up to 64GB according to another review. Not sure if it can support higher. Keyboard dock has one full sized USB 2.0 port on the right side. Nothing on the left. All the I/O on the tablet is located on the left. 3.5mm headphone jack on the upper-most part. Mini HDMI. Micro USB which you CAN charge with (through a wall charger. Not a PC). DC port for charging (bit flimsy, would prefer to use the micro usb to charge). The microSD card slot is also located here. Power/Volume buttons are on the top of the tablet. System itself is sturdy and does not flex without putting great force into it. Not sure what kind of glass this screen has since it has greater friction than my phone. It is still glass, though, so no flex. Would be difficult to find a glass screen protector for this. Speakers are on the back of this device towards the bottom. The back is plastic but has an aluminum look and feel. Touch pad isn’t spectacular. A little bit heavy but more bearable when keyboard dock is not attached. Has a wireless N chip and was able to cap out my net speeds at 50Mbps. Has Bluetooth also. Rotation/gyro seems to be on point. Has front facing and rear cameras. Haven't tested them. Not expecting much from them. Microphone is also subpar but coherent enough to make out words. Bought this on Black Friday for $130~ and is definitely a 5 star device for the price. At the stock $200, it becomes harder to recommend and would probably be a 3-4 star as you can get a much faster device by paying a bit more. Overall, it is a good device for work and can also run media perfectly fine. Battery life is exceptional and can run low 3D applications just fine as well. Hopefully I covered what was missing in other reviews.

I have 2 Windows 10 laptops, but not a Win-10 tablet. I have also owned many Android tablets and phones. This is my first Windows 10 tablet, placing an 8 inch ASUS tablet that had a cracked screen. Firstly, the Win10 operating system is a substantial improvement over anything that Android or Apple have currently now. Once the apps, and tiles are set up in the start menu, the switch between "tablet" and "windows" mode is easily accomplished with a button press in the action center. Another thing I like, is the fact that since this is Windows, using the internet using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge is seamless. Flash heavy websites that kids like, such as Animal Jam work well on this platform, with some occasional stutters, but is mostly manageable. The only downside is that the app library is not as big as Android or iOS. I installed Bluestacks on the device and was able to download a movie and successfully play a movie from my Google account with little lag. I also tried TurboFly, and the game worked reasonably well. The Shopkins app did not work well, showing significant "black squares" as the hardware seemed to get bogged down rendering the app. The display is a good size for a tablet. The keyboard has nice feel. The attachment of the screen to the keyboard works well in both face down and face up configurations. The overall weight is a bit heavy feeling, but not uncomfortably so. The Atom processor works fine for basic tasks, but it gets slow if too many windows or activities are going at the same time. Another is that the memory on-board is only 32GB, which can be quickly used up with programs and data. If the intent is to use this machine for heavy gaming or such, move along to another product. Any document storage should be done on Onedrive, etc. A defect in the design is that when the tablet is in the laptop configuration sitting on my lap, the top-heavy screen tends to cause it to fall on the back of the screen. Care would need to be taken to assure that it won't tip over. Due to the processor, memory, and tip over potential, I took a star off in my rating. However, this is a good basic computer that would be great on the road and used as a tablet. I would recommend this new configuration over any Android or Apple product.

Very good little laptop. The only reason I exchanged it was the 32 gb hard drive wasn't big enough because one of my programs will only store on the C: drive, so I couldn't save or transfer to my 128 gb memory card. Had I been able to do that, I would have happily kept it.

First offf I want to say the price is a steal. I did my research and this is far and away the best bang for the buck on a small budget laptop. Yes, the keyboard is cramped and the base is very plasticy, but it's stable and tablet portion locks in very securely. I can touch type on it with no problem, except for the very odd placemtn of the control key. I regularly carry it by the keyboard and have even held it upside down by the base. It's a little top heavy because of the lighter base, but it's not too bad, and it's significantly better than most of the other convertables that I've tried. I'm thinking a couple of metal weights glued to the bottom may make it tip-free. Battery seems fairly long lasting (I make it through moderate usage in a day without needing to charge). Pro tip though, while it has a specialized AC adapter, it WILL charge throught the microUSB slot like most tablets. Screen is bright with decent angles and the touch is good. No complaints there. The speakers are rear facing (boo!) but fairly loud (yay!). It has a fair amount of bloatware that I recommend removing immediately, and once I did, it was super speedy. I also immediately removed the mobile versions of office and installed office 2016 (I have a 365 sub). So far it's been awesome. I do spreadsheets and document creation on it. Hulu, Showtime, Netflix, Youtube all run great. I've even loaded Steam on it and have played through a few Point-n-click adventures and strategy games. Despite a handful of shortcomings,it's an excellent buy at this price.

This is a great product for an incredible price. I was looking for a laptop to use for college that I could carry and even use in class to read my textbooks. The truth is that after months of searching, nothing could beat this puppy, I searched for a laptop since last summer until I found this one on Black Friday. It has given me more than I expected for its price. Great performance, good battery life with moderate use, awesome multi-tasking performance, and great portability. It is particularly convenient when I have to share books with classmates because it has great viewing angles and nobody has to move around to read clearly. On its downsides we have its low storage capabilities, enough to install the full version of MS Office suite, which by the way runs like a champ, and carry tons of PDFs on it, but not enough to save tons of music or movies. I personally don't store any movie r song on it, I just use my phone for that. It is also great with Netflix and web browsing, with the little inconviniece that the speakers are in the back so the audio isn't really intense or easy to ear on a low volume. If anybody has any question about the laptop, please feel free to ask and I will help you as best as I can.

This 2-in-1 Windows tablet/laptop is a good laptop or tablet depending on which way is used. It has 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and came with Windows 10 which I like, no need to upgrade. Thus far I like that it feels like is a full size laptop, as i could easily type on keyboard. Is not too big, not too small so I'm able to travel and easily take it with me wherever I go. I enjoy the two in one, I like that gives me options, is up to me, am able to use it with the keyboard which is easily detached, or am able to use the touchscreen/tablet. I bought it as i wanted to have a tablet to take with me on plane, this 2-in 1 was recommended to me based on that it has higher specs than other similar items. I bought it in a rush, thinking that if i didn't like it I would return it. But i liked it! Thus far i had it for a few months, it has met my expectations. I would recommend it to friends.

This 2 in 1 laptop/tablet is a great buy if you don't need high speed processor or if you are not doing any heavy duty work. It is very versatile, light and is easy to use. This is just what I wanted for my first tablet. I almost like all its features except for the speakers. They are in the back and not powerful. Otherwise this product is great. for its price.

I bought this so that I could write my sermons at lunch and when I travel. It is perfect for that purpose. I purchased the 28Gb version but if you go below 7 Gb of storage this computer starts having more than a few performance problems. This is easily solved by purchasing a large storage disk. I purchased a 60Gb microSDHC. A bluetooth mouse is handy too because there is only one USB port. I run microsoft edge because both Firefox and Chrome crashed the little thing but MS Edge works great. The screen is great. The weight is marvelous. My normal computer is a 17" Samsung Chronos 7 which is wonderful at home but travel is such a bear. The battery really does last 6 to 7 hours which makes this little notebook a pleasure on long trips and the bottom of it does not overheat. The keyboard is good; but I did purchase a larger footprint wireless board because I do like more room. That was more a luxury and if I did not have it I would not be unhappy. Get yourself a cloud storage account so you can work on the same version of a paper and you are golden.

The Acer One is a perfect tablet for someone that needs a portable device for a great price. This tablet is not built for multi-tasking, or gaming, but it can do normal web surfing and simple processes well enough to garner a 4 star rating. The keyboard that it comes with is perfect aside from the fact that the tablet does not balance upright alone and will fall over if open and sitting on a table. It could use more memory and processor speed, but for the price it is better than its competition.

I got this tablet on the Black Friday special so it was a great price. This is a really good tablet for this price point -- especially with the detachable keyboard. The only reason for 4 stars is that there is an ongoing problem with the WIFI driver. I have downloaded the correct driver updates from Acer but the problem persists. It will work for a while then the WIFI crashes and won't recognize my home network, the card, etc. I finally copied the new WIFI driver to a USB stick -- so when it fails, I just reinstall and move on. Acer needs to get this FIXED. I had the same problem on my Dell windows tablet after the upgrade to Windows 10 -- but Dell's driver update fixed the problem and it hasn't recurred. If you want a Windows tablet at a great price -- and you're tech savvy enough to deal with the WIFI driver problem, I would highly recommend this tablet.

This a great and affordable tablet. Love the screen size and resolution, and the keyboard that comes with it. Had to download instructions, which cover much, but doesn't cover some necessary items like camera use. Leaves a lot of unanswered questions, but the calls to tech support have been helpful. Had drivers crash after one day and couldn't get Wi-Fi, but tech support helped restore them. Still won't pick up my wireless printer, and tech support says I have to go to the printer maker. I recommend buying a Bluetooth mouse to leave the USB open for a flashdrive - I hate the touch pads. Still it'll be great for traveling when I don't want to drag a laptop.

In laptop mode it is a bit top heavy, so you must be careful with the angles for it not to tip over on its own. In tablet mode, Windows 10 shows a bit of its limitations (it's not an iPad) in usability. I got it on sale for $130 and find it great for the price, works fluidly with Office 365 and the keyboard/touchpad are great. Battery life is good, but has drained overnight once or twice for no apparent reason (it stopped doing that, so maybe some Windows update fixed that?). Just don't expect desktop-class performance or the best screen ever at this price point and you'll be pleasantly surprised by the computer's capabilities.

After getting "basics" loaded, only 5GB remains. Comes with an amount of extra software that borders on malware/adware. No obvious venting. Let it set for a week, then would not stay on for more than 20 seconds. Had to find some youtube videos to see how to mitigate that, apparently due to dust inside & fan overheating. 1 USB port. But does have bluetooth+wifi. Serviceable. Not something you want to depend on with any kind of storage requirement or daily workload.

I had to return a black Friday special windows tablet due to button failure. The best buy customer service rep was very nice and helped me out without any problems. I exchanged the item for the acer tablet which was less expensive but had slightly better specifications. I have had the new acer for a few weeks now and cannot find anything to complain about. It was preloaded with windows 10, and has worked flawlessly since start up. I am very impressed with the battery run time. It is good for 8 hours where the other one was only active for 5. Looks and feels better quality and if it lasts as long as my acer netbook I have had for many years, I will be extremely pleased.

If you are looking for a tablet PC, this is definitely the one. Its small, the keyboard is detachable, is study but not heavy, processor has decent enough power to handle multitasking and it comes with a SD card slot, a mini HDMI port and it runs for 8-10 hours on a single charge. Just one thing, remove all the unnecessary apps, it comes with a ton of em. I used CCleaner to wipe off background apps. I was so happy I bought 3 of these.
