I piced up mine with a 5070ti from Best Buy for $1,449, which in my opinion is an outstanding deal for a 5070ti wirh 32gb ram and an OLED 240Hz refresh rate display! Initially, I got carried away listening to all the commets and youtube videos talking about battery life and not being able to adjust the refresh rate and almost returned it. But you know, after using it for 2 months its really a non-issue. First of, you cannot get nearly close to max performance with any gaming laptop unplugged, and as far as day to day tasks, I can’t remeber the last time i had to use a laptop for more than 3 or 4 hours not being near an electrical outlet (and you dont have to charge it using the giant brick, if youre going to work in a coffee shop for more than 4 hours, you can charge it via USB as well). If I hadn’t heard about the issue, I probably wouldnt have noticed. As far as its performance, i cant complain, it plays every game i play effortlessly, I can easily and quicly render Devinci Resolve and CAD and SolidWorks work seemlessly. Anything close was $600, and for that I dont need a fancy chassis and 24 zone RGB. Love th laptop.

After several months, absolutely no issues with the machine as it has played every game and done every task I have asked of it. Beautiful screen, super fast. A tiny bit loud when running at max capacity with demanding games, but nothing unusual compared to other laptops.

On paper, this is without a doubt the best bang for the buck laptop on the market as of writing this review. A 5070Ti and a STUNNING OLED panel for under $1,500 was a steal. When this thing runs, it's an absolute dream. When it runs...
First issue - Heat. A thin and light is expected to get hot but sweet lord this thing was spike to 90c opening a word document. Fans? Dead silent or Cat 4 hurricane, your choice. The "manual" fan contol is a slider with no spectrum on it. You can set it to the lowest setting and still ramp to 5000 rpm because the laptop said "That's a nice suggestion, but no thanks"
Due to that heat, I attempted to look for some power management settings. The settings in the predator sense app have very vague names such as Quiet, Balanced, Performance, and Turbo. Quiet is indeed, quiet. The latter 3 all perform relatively the same with a different fan profile and slightly different boost clocks. I never once saw the Ultra 9 275HX boost over 4.3ghz, even in file decompression or general web browsing. Strange.
All of this leads me to my biggest complaint. This thing has an issue where it apparently won't thermal throttle properly and will just run like Usain Bolt until it decides on it's terms to punch the time clock, lock up, and power cycle. Mid document? That sucks, rebooting. Important call for work with your boss? Too bad, so sad bro it's quitting time. This also occurs occasionally while waking from sleep. Incredibly annoying.
This has not been a 1 off thing. Over a 32 day period of ownership I have experienced this 3 to 4 times per day averaging about 3-4 hours of use.
Also, a major selling point of this laptop is the 275HX (emphasis on the HX) series CPU in here. HX series CPUs have power control officially supported by Intel through their XTU application.. unless you are Acer and decide to lock it out at a firmware level, completely negating a selling point of using this specific processor in the first place. It's a marketing tactic, and I get it; but it's scummy.
To round all of this out, Acer's official website for drivers and bios updates for their products is absolute dog water. Trying to find the official support page for this device brought me to a forum search utility to "see what others are saying." Acer, I don't want to see what other people are saying about your device; I want to find bios updates so I can manage my device with the utility you are supposed to provide. The predator sense app for updates is good if you are content with "no updates available." Nice, but maybe I want to rollback a driver to troubleshoot something.
I'm still giving it three stars because this computer has SO much potential, but the cut corners and sheer pants on head decision making process on thermal throttling not working appropriately or locking out XTU support ruined this device for me. Unfortunately, these issues are not isolated to this being a lemon. I have come across a few reviews on Best Buy as well as other forums with users complaining of the same issue.
Acer you were so close, hopefully your next version will iron out these issues. Until then, I will unforunately be returning this device.
PS, the name of this device is overly complicated. Reminds me of "my fathers, brothers, nephews, uncles, cousins former roommate" from Spaceballs. Less is more.

The Good: The OLED screen is amazing. Decenly fast GPU. I ran ARC Raiders at around 170fps using DLSS 2x. It was still really responsive. The laptop is also really thin.
The Bad: The OLED is locked at 240hz, so bad battery life. The GPU's wattage is also lesser than Lenovo, for instance. The thin design also comes with heat problems. The fans are pretty loud. You'll also likely see thermal throttling.
I returned the laptop due to microstuttering, likely from thermal issues.

A solid 5070ti machine for under 1600 that comes with a great oled screen and a near flagship level cpu is a great value regardless of compromises. That said, there are a few things to consider. This is NOT a full powered 5070ti laptop and it maxes out at 115w. It is more similar to the base 5070 but with an extra 4gb of vram. If you want no compromises on power I would suggest looking into a thicker laptop 5070ti like ones offered by Lenovo. Build quality is also a bit subpar compared to the competitors, not bad but you can tell some corners were cut to save cost. That said, if you dont mind those drawbacks, its still an amazing and thin laptop.

So after a couple of months of going back & forth between buying & returning gaming laptops, some for actual software or hardware issues and a couple of them just because I didn't end up liking for often several reasons, i have finally landed here!! I could probably write pages on the likes and dislikes amoungst the other laptops I've tried in comparison to this one but it would take entirely too long. I'll just say finally a gaming laptop that has everything i was looking for plus some. Features a OLED beautiful & bright display, It says 165hz display in the description but when i went into the display settings, it actually shows running at 240hz for the refresh rate... Which is a bonus!!... It goes over 300 nits for the display brightness, has 32gb Ram, 1 tb storage, RTX 5070ti, with an Ultra 9 series 2 processor or the 275HX variant. Plus has a premium feel build quality, full keyboard & a slim sleek design!. Also I cant forget to mention the great port selection it has in comparison to the others ive tried......I've paid more for other "comparable" gaming laptops... Alienware, MSI,Asus, older predators....just to name a couple lol...but they always came with some kind of compromise whether it be the screen quality/resolution or a lower processor or a lower overall nit brightness or only 16gb of ram or a lesser gpu or poorer port selection or combos of. I suppose there really is no "perfect" gaming laptop but this one just packs it all! Definitely recommend over the new Asus Rog Strix G16 with the FHD display which also happens to be more expensive (at the time of this review) if display immersion is your thing. Along with a recommendation over the MSI Stealth A16 AI (Amazing build & display, but had to return for what came to be a known glitching screen issue for that model). The Asus was the last laptop i had before exchanging it for this one and im glad i decided to exchange it.... Acer is killing the game with this one and for the price point in comparison to some of the others (at the time of this review), it is an all around, more complete & excellent package without all the compromises!

The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI Gaming Laptop is an absolute powerhouse, and easily one of the best purchases I’ve made for both gaming and productivity. For the price, you’re getting top-tier hardware and cutting-edge features that truly rival much more expensive models.
Performance
Powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 and paired with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, this laptop breezes through demanding AAA games, content creation tasks, and AI-assisted workloads. Whether I'm running Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty, or doing 4K video editing, the system stays fast, responsive, and smooth. The 32GB RAM ensures seamless multitasking — you can run multiple heavy applications without a hitch.
Display
The 16” OLED display at 240Hz is nothing short of stunning. The colors are vibrant, blacks are true black, and the high refresh rate makes everything from gaming to scrolling through content feel buttery smooth. It’s easily one of the best displays I’ve seen on a gaming laptop in this price range.
AI Features
The integrated AI enhancements really elevate the experience. From intelligent performance tuning to real-time background noise suppression, Acer’s AI integration makes a tangible difference in both gaming and productivity scenarios.
Cooling and Build
Thermals are handled very well, thanks to Acer's advanced cooling system. Even under load, the laptop remains relatively cool and quiet. The Obsidian Black chassis looks sleek, modern, and feels solidly built — it definitely has a premium feel.
Storage & Connectivity
With a 1TB SSD, you have plenty of ultra-fast storage for games and files. Load times are nearly instant. You also get a full suite of ports, including Thunderbolt and HDMI, which is perfect for multi-monitor setups or external accessories.
Final Verdict:
If you're looking for a high-end gaming laptop that delivers premium performance, display quality, and AI enhancements, the Predator Helios Neo 16S is hard to beat — especially at this price point. Acer has nailed the balance of power, aesthetics, and value here. Whether you're a hardcore gamer, creative professional, or power user, this machine is built to impress.
Highly recommended!

Great specs and build quality for the price. You can't beat the processor and graphics for this price. Only drawbacks is that this laptop gets HOT and LOUD. You can put it in eco or silent mode and fix those issues, but gaming or modeling will definitely heat it up.

I picked mine up during a sale for $1,499; an absolute steal considering the amount of power this laptop has. Playing titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts, and others at full detail is fantastic on this machine. I was getting 70fps in Cyberpunk without any frame gen or trickery, but when I enabled it, I was getting near 180fps. I put this little machine side by side with my desktop (14900KF, RTX 4080 Supreme X, 32gig Corsair dominator). This little machine can actually keep up, and in some cases run parallel with my desktop; blown away.
The connectivity on this machine is fantastic: it's got HDMI 2.1 and Thunderbolt 4 (yep, that's right), and it can push 80 Gbps throughput. My desktop motherboard doesn't even have Thunderbolt, and at the time, it was an enthusiast/premium platform. Not to mention 2.5 GB Ethernet, which is precisely what I have on my desktop, despite my fiber internet.
The OLED screen is also high quality, with no taring during heavy usage. Leave Sync off; it hasn't been useful in years. The colors are deep and rich (compared to my desktop 34" G7 T1 Faker 240hz, with 95% Color gamut, and HDR. This laptop's monitor is actually 'better', in this case, size doesn't matter.
I've come to prefer working on my laptop over my desktop because of these extra features and its overall feel. As a package, these parts and the software have been perfectly mated. This is a fantastic design and implementation of premium parts.
Cons:
There are a few minor details I found somewhat frustrating as a super-user; most people won't even notice these items because it's beyond their knowledge and expertise.
1) The UEFI BIOS is really lacking in customization. When I turned off a couple of things to try to streamline further, the BIOS hung up quite a bit and slowed down drastically. This did not affect the performance once in Windows; I hope ACER keeps working on the BIOS because it needs some TLC. Please allow me to turn off TPM, it's a security risk due to the extra space on there.
2) Cracking this machine open is NOT easy. Be very VERY careful if you try to upgrade the SSD or RAM. You'll need Torx bits to open it; you'll also want a plastic guitar pick to pry it open. Be very gentle; otherwise, you could break something or clip a capacitor on the edge of the motherboard.
3) If you decide to upgrade your SSD make sure that you have the drivers (ACER website) to detect the new one correctly. Otherwise, it won't appear in your fresh Win11 install when trying to select a drive, etc.
4) Win11 Home is attached to this machine via the TPM module; it is automatically recognized when you're installing a fresh copy of Windows 11. This can be a pain in the neck if you're a superuser like me with extra copies of Win11 Pro lying around. Search the web, and you'll find a quick hack to install other OS versions without disabling the TPM.
My use-case scenario: school, work, pen testing, and cybersecurity. This little beast is currently dual-booting into Kali Linux via the Thunderbolt 4 port (for quick disconnects). It's currently being used to packet-sniff on my home network, intercepting all traffic to my desktop and my Pi5 vault servers, and to play on the dark web. It's also being used as a workstation for school.

This laptop is some serious bang for your buck. The screen is amazing, great gpu/cpu combo, pretty slim and lightweight, and good port options.
However, the speakers are atrocious and while the fan noise doesn't bother me, they are literally ALWAYS on. Even in quiet mode just surfing the web, the fans are on. You can customize this obviously but if you're running in the standard profiles their on 24/7. But for $1,450, this thing is honestly a beast and I can easily put up with those small cons.

I’ve been gaming and working on the Helios Neo 16S AI for a few weeks, and I’m thoroughly impressed. The 16” 240 Hz OLED display is spectacular—ultra-sharp visuals alongside smooth motion in every game and video. Paired with the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5070 Ti, this laptop tackles AAA titles at high settings effortlessly. DLSS 4 is a perfect match for this hardware, boosting performance without sacrificing quality.
What really stands out is the build. At just under 19 mm thin, yet equipped with robust cooling (liquid metal + fifth‑gen AeroBlade 3D fans), it stays impressively cool even during intense gaming sessions. Ports are smartly positioned—Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, microSD, and USB-A/C are abundant, so no need for dongles. ()
Battery life? Great for light use—up to 6½ hours of video playback—but naturally, gaming drains it fast. Fans get audible under load, but it’s a trade-off for the raw power packed inside. ()
If you’re hunting for a desktop-replacement gaming laptop that blends performance, visuals, and thoughtful design, this is it. It’s bold, gamer-focused, and delivers exactly what the specs promise.
• Display & Visuals: 16” WQXGA OLED, 240 Hz, 1 ms response—tilts modern gaming visuals into cinematic territory.
• Performance: Core Ultra 9 275HX + RTX 5070 Ti = buttery smooth gameplay with DLSS 4 enabled.
• Thermals & Build: Axiom-level cooling, solid aluminum-chassis feel, and sturdy construction.
• Connectivity: One of the best-equipped mid‑size laptops with full Thunderbolt, HDMI, Ethernet, USB-A/C, and card reader.
• Drawbacks: Heavier than ultralights (~2.3 kg/5 lb), fans audible under load, battery life limited during gaming.
An excellent balance of powerful hardware, stunning OLED visuals, and premium build, making it a top-tier gaming pick. Ideal for gamers, creators, and power users who value performance-first laptops—even at the cost of some weight and battery runtime.

If you need a computer with a good battery go somewhere else. It dies in a couple hours and you can do nothing about it. Otherwise this computer if on sale is a great deal. 5070ti and oled 244hz screen. Fans are fairly average in noise for what I've noticed in gaming laptops but it does get quite hot in the center when working hard so keep an eye on that. Graphics are beautiful and as long as you aren't a top level gamer this is more than powerful enough for your needs. If you are looking for a solid intermediate level gaming laptop at an affordable price this is for you. Not to mention nothing much else needs to be said when the price is $1450. Good luck finding a 5070ti at that price.

Absolutely perfect for my needs. I got it on sale a few weeks prior to Black Friday and it was the best thing I’ve done. I had a Desktop prior I used primarily for gaming. Started traveling for work much more so I got rid of that and went with a laptop. OLED screen is beautiful, surprisingly good FPS with frame gen and DLSS. This laptop is the real deal. I did delete multiple manufacturer bloatware applications and adjusted some power settings to meet my needs on battery or on charge but other than that it’s pretty plug and play. Very happy with my purchase and performance with portability.

so far its been nothing but a pleasure to use, extremely impressive performance for a laptop, especially in its price bracket. The display is also top of its class, and I doubt most people will feel the need to use an external display while gaming. My only real complaint is the battery life, but this is the kind of system that is best used as a portable desktop replacement that you can use while on the go in a pinch

High quality exactly what I was looking for, I am just starting into PC gaming so I wanted to have the power needed to play big titles like BG3 like I’ve played on PlayStation and I’ve been pleasantly surprised!
It definitely runs hot and has battery issues as the other reviews state but it’s hasn’t caused any issues. I’m sure I could adjust settings to help buttt I’m not trying to do that

Powerful and high-performance laptop with an amazing OLED display. The screen quality is sharp, bright, and smooth, making gaming and work very enjoyable. It handles heavy tasks and games without issues, and the build quality feels premium. Cooling performance is good, though the fan can be a bit loud under heavy load. Overall, it delivers excellent performance and is highly recommended for gamers and professionals.

This product has beautiful displays and runs software quickly and efficiently. The problems with it include over heating and a short battery life. This is not a big issue for me though because I can keep it plugged in during use.

Great performance and configuration for the price that I paid.
Incredible screen quality, great CPU and GPU, very good ammount of RAM and SSD space.
Overall build quality is good, surprised by the performance that it have with this thin formfactor.

Laptop is bery powerful and has plenty of over head with the 5070ti and 32gb of ram. It performs very well and the predator app works pretty well with the switches on the laptop. I feel like if the charger was a 280w the 5070ti might pish more permance. The OLED screen is beautiful and petsomally the best part of the laptop. Worst thing is the intel chip runs HOT even whike idling or browsing thr web it stays at around 65-75c and when gaming it will get up 85-100c and that is with riser and an ambient room temp of around 72f, i feel like if i would of went with an AMD chip it would of been better. Overall great laptop and performs like i want to and need.

For the price, you cannot do better. The performance is unparalleled for the price. The design is very good, sure the USB c are in the back, which could be better. The screen is fabulous! It has a little plastic strip on the heat sink, I assume so that you don't get burn. Battery life is bad, but not single gaming laptop works well with battery power.
